TLS 0.58.0 Released!

New update for supporters on Patreon or SubscribeStarVersion history updated, you know what to do, etc.

TLS 0.58.0

 - New section of the story

 - No new art. There is art ready, but I won't have time to include it until the .1 release or so.

Though this isn't quite the update I originally intended, I think it's the right update for moving the story forward. Instead of trying to tackle all of the remainder of the Incubus War in one update, I focused on a discrete section this time and will conclude everything in 0.59.0.

This one is a bit crazy, sort of an RPG within an RPG. Hopefully everyone will enjoy it as a change of pace in between the chaotic sections of the war, but for now it is complete and I can sleep. -_-

EDIT: I hoped that it would be in one week, but I decided that this update needs more time. Patrons have now received a significantly polished version 0.58.1, and a later version will go public next weekend.

  3. Was TLS at all inspired by the Wheel of Iime books, because a few elements of the story really reminded me of WoT so I kind of wonder if you're also a fan of the series

    1. Hmm, this question is a first. I read much of tWoT when I was younger, but didn't particularly think about it as an inspiration for this game.

    1. Please leave feedback for non-public releases on the relevant Patreon threads - it helps to keep everything in one place, and it avoids any spoilery details leaking out.

    2. I don't have patreon but I can delete my previous posts if that helps.

    3. If you don't have Patreon access, then you don't have access to those builds, so yeah, it's generally polite not to post until the build goes public. The non-public builds generally aren't for public consumption anyway; the public release will be significantly altered in response to player feedback.

    4. I know you mean well in your comments, and I'm glad that you enjoyed this update overall. However, it's not fun to be reminded that people are getting the game from pirate sites earning ad revenue off my work. Especially when those versions lack context from Patreon and repeat things that are already fixed, though this wasn't really an issue in your case.

I know that not everyone has money to support, so I try just shrug about this sort of thing. But I hope you can understand my view.

    5. I understand. I work hard in my own chosen field in writing too, so I can imagine how it feels in that regard. In any case, I decided to pitch in (at least for this month) to show at least a bit of support and as apology. At the very least, you deserve the $50.

    6. Your support is very much appreciated! If you're not the type to stay on Patreon, grabbing copies of my new releases and leaving reviews also helps me as a creator.

  8. I've slowly been building up some spare funds to send your way! But given the sheer amount of enjoyment I get from your work, I want to make sure you get your due with the least stress. Which subscription service do you prefer new patrons to support you with?

P.S. I'm in love with your work as always, and eagerly await 58.x's public release.

    1. Patreon is reliable and takes the lowest percentage. As mentioned, supporting game releases is also appreciated, so that's another option if you'd rather not use a subscription service. But please feel free to use whatever is most convenient for you!

  9. Thanks for this amazing game. I've been playing all the time in lockdown. I stopped playing for a while after the coup in my country but now's the time to catch up.

    1. That's heavy, but I hope my work can be a reprieve for you.
