TLS 0.55.4
 - See the previous post for release notes, as they're quite long.

I think this half-update was good for the game and my momentum, but I'm also happy to be able to wrap this up and move forward. Patrons are going to get a big look at one of my long running side projects soon, so please stay tuned for updates about that here, and of course, more TLS!

  3. Here are some of the thoughts I had in this update ^^

    - In Merchant Camp, the slime problem have been resolved, but there is still one wandering close to slaver boy....

    - Glad to see Feroholm restored ^^ A bit surprised that there was no kid near the fountain though ^^ And it's a bit irritating to see that they destroyed his old house, although the irony is pretty clear ; instead of an old, decaying house, there is now a growing tree, full of vitality. And their church is still full of weirdos XD

    - In Tower Backdoor, Orcent say that he wouldn't be able to keep up with the entire globe while reading. So they ARE aware that the world is a sphere ? I though they had problems with the sea exploration due to the powerful monsters.

    - It's nice to see more lamias while wandering around ^^

    - I choose to take the divine path. Not knowing the identity of the ennemy makes it more dangerous, and it maybe it would help Ivala and Mithyn. It could also be another path to acquire divine shards apart from killing Grynyth (not that it would really stop me, but, you know). Plus, with Simon talent he could easily unravel the mysteries of the Incubus shards, and I'm kinda worried/excited about this shard resonance thingy.

    - Hahaha, haven't considered how overwhelming it could be for the guards to see so much changes in a few years. Good work on that, as always ^^

    - Hahahaha, I really like how my mind works XD When I talked to a succubus about refurbishing the Gathering Complex and she let out that she would give more furniture for the base, my first unformed thought was "Ooohh, shiny !!!" Hahaha, good job for knowing exactly what to say to make us hapily spend money XD

    - Sad to see Vunne like that. The scars run deeper than with Estaven's harem. They could hate him, while the Lustlord harem was dependant. They will need time to reconstruct themselves, especially with his last betrayal.

    - Hahaha, the Rodak Orc barracks XD "Did someone fuck humanity into Balia ?" Hahaha, Simon is too powerful, Balia and Trin can prove it XD

    - Sabitha is still sooo cuuuteee ^^ Really nice work with her scenes ^^

    - I don't know who said it but I agree that the Fuckball would be a good sidequest in the postgame ^^ The rules are just a bit too complicated in my opinion. And come on Simon !!! You had thye Legnedary Broom just at the reach of the hand !!! It's the last and most important quest item of the final boss !!! XD

    - How can we consider the Fuckball eggs by the way ? Like Pokemons or magic constructs ?

    1. Thanks for sharing all your thoughts!

Circumnavigating the globe is difficult in their world, but in our world people determined its shape from mathematical principles. Given that they have magic, including spatial magic, they'd certainly know this.

I'm happy to hear Sabitha's scenes were appreciated. ^-^

      Fuckball eggs are gacha tickets.

  4. Dunno if this is the appropriate place to put it but I found TLS a week or two ago and have been playing it nonstop! Found it from a recommendation posted in The Erogamer thread on QQ. Well over a hundred hours already racked up, though I've wanted to throw myself out a window 2 or 3 times now due to not utilizing the save slots well enough and having to throw out dozens of hours to undo a mistake because I overwrote saves.
I'm sure it's been suggested many times before but is there no way to add a button to see a dialogue log? I can't count how many times I had to alt-F4 and restart from an autosave because I accidentally doublepressed past a dialogue line.
I've really been loving the story and worldbuilding, you've really sucked me in. I wish I could provide a play by play of the commentary and reactions I had going through the story, I was literally whooping out loud at points every time Ginasta defied Simon to his face. I'm still at the Erosian war, so I haven't added Ginasta to the harem yet though I know she joins eventually. I really hope that upcoming scene does her justice, I've completely agreed with her ideals and iron will every step of the way and have nothing but MASSIVE respect for her that she can defy Simon to his face and show an iron spine in the face of a manipulative seducer like our protagonist.

    1. Glad you've enjoyed TLS so far! There's no default way to add dialogue rollback, and when I checked the script options for it long ago, I didn't think they worked particularly well. So I understand your pain, but I'm not sure there's a good option.

Ginasta has some major events coming up yet, so I hope you enjoy them!

    2. :D

I wonder if it says anything that my favorite characters are Ginasta, High Priestess Hester, and the OZL Zirantian ambassador. I guess I like straight shooters. I picked the OZL cause the ambassador guy is one of the only characters that never lies to you. It's kind of embarrassing but my jaw literally dropped irl when the ambassador guy told us what was going on with the ruins and it matched exactly with what we had already found out at the end of the Zirantia visit. I was fully prepared to be fed yet another line of bullshit and sided with the OZL purely because of it, even though the doylist reason for his honestly was that the plot arc was already over and it was just wrap up so he had no reason to lie and extend the arc.

      Delete
    3. The OZL is too conservative for my taste, Ziratia need some changes and the OZL is too much of a status quo group so not much change can be done buti yeah kinda like that guy at least his honest.

      My opinion.
I'm not a fan of Ginasta she is too radical and just push her own opinion on others, she beleives she is in the right and her own ideals are what is right. Well my opinion.

  6. Well, I'm glad I decided to start this new section over from right after the Lustlord fight. The differences aren't exactly big but noticeable since I played through this part twice. Once with 0.55.2 and now with 0.55.4.

Orcent's bar convos are a pleasure as always. At times he feels less like a major character and more like a main character in his own right since we've seen his development starting from that time at the farm.

On a different note, I had a thought while playing this.

Would you happen to have a rough timeline of events? I'm curious as to how much time passes between major events that have happened, as well as how much in-game time in total has passed since the start of the game.

    2. Thanks for giving your thoughts! Yes, I do keep making little tweaks where I can improve the game.

That timeline is unofficial, but it's based on the given dates and pretty accurate.

  7. I am a Crimson Grey fan. I cannot tell you how much that game meant to me! I have a little bit of programming experience, and wish to make a game similar to Crimson Grey, as I find the yandere genre terribly underserved. If you are willing, I have some questions I'd like to ask you...

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Did you ask me this question via Steam? I'll paste the same answer here:

Glad you enjoyed Crimson Gray! I don't think I'm in the best position to answer general questions about game dev or help someone with a project, but I'm happy to listen.

  8. Personally, I still don't understand why Ulrissa didn't kill Tanurak back when she had the chance and banished him instead. Was there some Dumbledore x Grindewald/ Irenicus x Ellesime action going on or did he simply made himself virtually unkillable via Tower shenanigans?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I don't think that Ulrissa chose to spare Tani-boy. She was not super thorough. If you are talking about when Tany escapes in Tak'Kan, well she was neutral for too long in order to use her power.

      Delete
  9. I meant their ancient confrontation, way back before Simon was born. Given how slippery Tanurak is, for Ulrissa's banishment to stick she had to have him pretty much dead to rights. So why not simply kill him? Was it impossible to do? Maybe she really wanted him to suffer for all the shit he pulled? I'm just curious...

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. She didn't banish him. She outright tried to kill him. Only his will/ a part of his soul survived and he slowly remade himself. It's kinda like how Wendis "died". If you have a save during the Thenoursan War load it and play it again. Otherwise, I will check the game script in order to copy paste the exact lines.

      Delete
    2. Here is the exact from Tanurak himself when he meets Ulrissa again: "The majority of my self was erased, yes. I didn't think you had it in you."

      Delete
    3. Correct, Ulrissa did her best to completely wipe him from existence.

      Delete
    4. Whoops, my mistake. Somehow my brain went he returned, so he had to have been banished. But still, that sounds kinda like Lingering Will/Remnant situation from KH series. Does that make him more or less vulnerable compared to how he used to be? Between than and his new shard, he's going to be more annoying to kill than Fucklord ever was, huh? I was almost hoping for an anticlimactic takedown, just total embaressment of that smug asshole, but I guess it just wont be that easy...

      Delete
    5. Tanurak is more vulnerable than he was back then, but more directly powerful due to obtaining a shard. As for his role, expect the next major event in two to three updates to shed a lot of light on things!

  11. Great update so far, nice to see changes after wandering around everywhere multiple times with nothing different.

Possible bug: Nalili mentions going to a specific jail cell, but an NPC still blocks off the passage to all the cells even after doing the slavery-related thing.

    1. Unrelated but couple more questions:

Does Riala show up in the portal room at the end or is it just placeholder for now? I think I did everything....

Tertia still at 27 RP after finishing with Eustrin, is there any way to get that up higher?

      Delete
    2. I'm not sure which Nalili line you mean, but there were no intended interactions at the jail.

No final ending to this update.

Tertia's RP... I would suggest checking the wiki for a complete list, as I can't know what you've already done.

      Glad you liked the update!

      Delete
    3. Sorry, I was trying to avoid spoilers. In the throne room, Nalili mentions a secret about going to the third jail cell, then her sprite disappears after the brief conversation.

      Delete
    4. That sounds like a leftover from Simon's path in chapter 2 - it's the place where Nalili takes him for training his powers. If it's showing up in chapter 5, that's a bug.

  14. I always try to replay every few major patches, and i found a very very very minor bug? it seems like one of the dwarven guards in front of the royal tunnel in eustrin does not have the correct flags set:

the rightmost one is for once eustrin final is completed, but I'm still only in chapter 4.

    1. Thanks for the report. Honestly, I'm unsure what I intended there...

  16. I found what I suspect is a small bug/typo with a sex scene name.

"Wendis + Wynn" is triggered by visiting Wynn's house after (I suspect) building a body for Wendis in Chapter 5. I suspect this should be named "Wendis + Wynn II" or something similar since "Wendis + Wynn I" is an earlier sex scene where Wendis directs the action.

If you let me know what you rename this to (if you choose to do so) I'll also update the wiki.

In the event that I get a reply, I would like you to know that this game is fantastic. It is one of the best games I've played and I do not mean to limit that to adult games. I'm interested in supporting you but I am not a fan of any subscription service (for you, Patreon, but for me Netflix and such count). I'd rather give you $10 once than $1 five times and then cancelling a subscription, despite it involving me giving more money.

Is there a preferred method on your end for me to support you? I had intended on buying the "DLC" on Steam but if there is a preferred method I can go another route, even Patreon for a single payment if the returns on your end are better.

    1. Thanks for the kind words and for reporting inconsistencies! Others have mentioned this, but I don't believe I've tweaked it because changing scene names can break the replay system. I'll try to remember at some point when I have time to double check that it's changed everywhere.

Patreon takes the least from anything you send, and since I have "charge upfront" set, you could use it as a one time payment processor. Regardless, thank you for your support!

    2. I have put my money where my mouth is and backed you on Patreon for one month. :)

Thanks again for making this game. I just got my wife started on it too! :D

  20. Hey, Sierra, I'm optimizing my save file and I have a question: is ALL of Simon's initial equipment important? I mean, the Ribbon was pretty obvious but what about the rest? Will they have any impact or am I free to sell it? With Tanurak about I'm worried about empathic connections or whatever...

    1. I've thought about doing stuff with his other equipment, but ultimately: nah, don't worry about the rest.

  21. Hey Sierra, just passing to say again, great work on the last update!

I also want to ask something kind of off-topic:
Did you ever consider to write a book? I would totally buy a Fantasy Novel writen by you!

    1. Thanks for the kind words! I am actually a modestly successful fantasy novelist, but it needs to be under another name because society in general is still so puritanical about NSFW content.

    2. Oh man, I would love to know if I already read some of your work, but I understand the need of secrecy, tho it pains me that it's still necessity.

    3. Haha, you probably haven't read anything of mine unless you try a lot of Kindle Unlimited books. I'm making enough to support myself on book sales, but I'm a nobody by publishing standards.

It's not exactly a well-kept secret, but it's also not something I want to leave obvious connections between. I do link my new books on Patreon, or if you want to contact me via any private system I'll show you.
