Many of you know this, but I wanted to provide an official update for those who don't: I am currently recovering from the death of a close family member. It was a sudden accident that happened several weeks ago as of this post, and as you would expect, it has impacted my ability to work.
Having said that, I'm making this post because I have kept working when I am able, and I can now announce a general time for my next release: next weekend, if all goes well. Once version 0.20.x is released, I will take a short amount of time away from the game completely, then I will work on making 0.21.0 the best update I can (it will be a big one, completely resolving the current subplots).
I have a few things to keep you occupied during the delay:
1) I have made a recent Patreon post public, so check it out for answers to top patron questions, including a sneak preview of some of the new art for Ouroboros 2.0:
https://www.patreon.com/posts/august-7-update-6491561
2) I recently finished my longest-running piece of erotica, a ridiculous superhero story entitled Superman Fucks Gotham, after posting monthly updates for nearly two years. You can read it at Literotica or Archive of Your Own.
3) The final DLC update to Noxian Nights will be coming out in time. If you haven't played it, the main story is already complete, so now's a good time to give it a try. Those of you who wanted more tentacle sex in TLS will be happy with the upcoming update.
4) I'm not quite finished with it yet, but after I've secured TLS and NN releases, I'll put putting out one last bugfix for Ouroboros (this link will be updated later). No new content, but the memory leak is fixed, so if you couldn't or haven't played before, now might be a good time to check it out. I'm quite pleased with how it turned out, for a short game.
Beyond the general dates listed here, I can't make any promises about future progress. I want to work, I generally find it healing, but I have some serious things to work through.
I will work my hardest to make sure that this next pair of updates is up to the usual standard. After that I will take some time alone, but then I will be back to produce more content. This is what I want to spend my life doing, after all, I just won't be able to continue at 100% right away.
My condolences to you and your family, no one here will blame you for taking some time off for yourself. I'll just wait quietly, knowing you'll eventually give us something new in due time. You've got real dedication so I've never been worried about your release schedule. I know you'll continue your good work however much time it takes you to carry out your vision.
ReplyDeleteSame sentiments here: condolences to you and your family. Take as much time (and space) as you need to heal.
ReplyDeleteYour dedication to your work has never been, and will never be, in question (especially not by us), so again take what time and space you need, take care of yourself and come back much stronger & better than ever!
I don't know if there are any words we can say to help you through this time of sorrow.
ReplyDeleteI hope you can find peace in the matter.
Crushing. Insofar as anonymous voices on the internet can impart anything like comfort, I'm sure we all wish you and your family the best.
ReplyDeleteI hope that work proves to be a balm more often than a burden.
Sad to hear.my condolences to you and those that are left behind. What little strength this message can give you, i hope it does you good.
ReplyDeleteBe well.
deeply sorry for the loss! i still would like to know how do i beat ginasta i have tried like ten times to kill her but she just keeps healing /kill my group if any one has a good answer or has fought her tell me the answer pleases
ReplyDeleteI give my love on the hard times know we have your back! an wish you and your family best health!
There are guides on the wiki but here:
DeleteThe Team advised is Simon (obviously), Robin, Qum, and Carina. Spam Qum and Carina's party buffs so you're rolling around on +2 Attack/Mag and +2 Defence/MDefence the entire fight. Robin should focus on Elemental Lancing Ginasta while Simon spams Precise Strike or whatever you want to use. Between Qum and Carina you should have more than enough healing power to render Ginasta's attacks moot and Robin+Simon, with Qum's buffs, should easily overpower Ginasta's healing.
hhho havent tried that i was going mostly with simon aka hillstia and robin i got to half hp with critical hits but i couldn't get past the self heal and then ran out of mana
DeleteYeah that team setup devours mana like crazy. Doesn't help that a single round of buffs can undo two rounds of debuffs so Aka's basically always going to be using disabling assault. Carina and Qum both have mana for days so the loss of offensive power is made up for by the longevity of the setup.
DeleteI don't know if you are still looking for an answer, but having Varia in your party really makes a difference. I went with Simon/Varia/Robin/Aka.
DeleteAka to debuff, Robin for damage/heals, Varia for straight damage, and Simon for resurrecting. She heals/buffs every 3rd round, Tyrant Killer is random, but deals 80% hp regardless of how much hp you have. It doesn't matter if anyone dies, since you can resurrect them.
It's sad. Time will heal your wound's. Just wait. My sorrow with you.
ReplyDeleteTake your time. There's enough replay value in your game already to keep us occupied regardless of whatever else we do in life, and there are actual challenges for it now(Like the nuzlocke challenge for pokemon or the 3 hearts/no sword challenge for Zelda) including but not limited to only fighting enemies you can not avoid(And thus being incredibly underlevelled for every boss fight.), Only buying Shining Armors and nothing else(No potions or anything though you can spend SX on story things, but not like Aka's knife or Hilstara's helmet), not maxing anyone's affection(Actually pretty difficult because of Yarra!), spending most of the game poisoned(Whenever it becomes an option), and never healing or reviving a party member(they heal or revive automatically in some story points. This is obviously the most difficult one.)
ReplyDeleteThere's lots of other stuff I can't recall, and I'm sure 20.x will bring with it even more; Especially 21.0 if what you've said about it closing the subplots is for real. I think you should encourage Fanfiction to be written about your games on Archive of Our Own, it could bring more fans in and it's certainly another way to keep everyone busy.
I hope to do my part to keep your community at least partly satisfied through doing just that. Fanfiction is the only thing I can do for you after all.
Nothing can help you except time.Take this time
ReplyDeleteMy condolences. Take as much time off as you feel you need.
ReplyDeleteTake as many time as you want. My condolence, for you and your family, even if they are unknown to me. What ever you believe, he/she believed or what is true, I hope the best for his/her afterlife. Hopefully the last moments here weren't painful.

ReplyDeleteI just want to say that I hope you and your family are doing well. I'm also really excited for the TLS update. Out of curiosity, have you ever considered writing stories featuring TLS or Ouroboros on Archive of Our Own or something? I would read that shit like crazy.
ReplyDeleteI've actually intended to post the TLS prequel I wrote during my break month on various websites, I've just been sidetracked from this in a variety of ways. I may well write some more for TLS or other games, so expect at least some of it in the future.
DeleteThat makes me more excited than the ice cream man does. I get really excited about the ice cream man.
DeleteSad , sorry.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear of your loss Sierra.
ReplyDeleteTake the time to need to recover from this shock I will wait for the next release when you release it and as always good work on this fine game.
take has much time has you need we can all understand i've lost a couple of love ones as well my great grandma past away in early october of 2015
ReplyDeleteI don't often comment places, but I wanted to in this case both to express sympathy for your recent situation, and to give my thanks for your work on TLS. A friend passed it along to me a few weeks ago, and it's been a truly enjoyable experience that I am eagerly anticipating more of. The quality of the writing is outstanding, and it has been a pleasurable passing of time during the last several months of dealing with an incredibly annoying illness restricting my life.
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon, but there's no 'correct' timescale for such events. Stay well.
I just want to thank everyone for their kind comments here. I didn't go through and reply to every one, but I hope you understand that I appreciated them all.
ReplyDeleteUpdate should be coming tomorrow. ^-^
