Not a lot to say on this one. Now that the battle is over, this update lays the foundation for this entire chapter of the game. Enjoy!
I enjoyed being able to visit more of Yhilin again. Though a certain battle I predicted threw me off with it's timing, (save file issue of my own fault) I was able to overcome the challenge after a few tries. And I'm glad it wasn't an easy fight. I would've been disappointed if it was.
ReplyDeleteI think I spotted a possible bug, however. Were there any events in this release or in version 0.18.x that were supposed to raise Qum's affection? Because if so, I think she's been locked at 90. I used a save file from before 0.18 in which I whored Qum. (shame on me, I know. I'll probably restart the game at a later date anyway) I don't remember if I reached 100 before starting 0.18 though.
Hi:
ReplyDeleteThere is no bug, as there aren't any events in the last two releases that can affect Qum's RP.
Greetings.
Can you please have another host than mega? they're saying I excedeed my free usage or whatever that means :(
ReplyDeleteAdded a Mediafire mirror for the normal download. ^-^
DeleteCan we promote the Succubus which has an crush on Yarra to her secretary, please? Pretty please?
ReplyDeleteNo promises, but I do love subplots for really minor NPCs!
Delete<3
DeleteProps to character development in this section. One in particular hit the feels.
ReplyDeleteIs it possible to complete 'Forging Ties' in this section, or is it a quest that will be ongoing for updates to come?
I also think that uncle must be hiding in that darn bank, because I can't find him anywhere .-.
Glad you liked it! And yes, Forging Ties is an ongoing quest.
DeleteWhat are you doing ! the fight are realy hard especiacy the one against the super héroine :( i can't deafeat her she always heal every 2 or 3 tour with 2000 pv and you make only 400 max by chara and she kil me by 2 atac i don't try all chara but for now i am block :( By the way i thing a difficulty choice can be great somme people like me doesn't want try and retry every combatand juste want normal combat. maibe it because i dont have the good armor and think ... and 2nd think i want know do you will continu the intrigue of magical academy i think a mission of help a ancient camarade of robin can be good ending of his quest or for a reachrch or both
ReplyDeleteSorry you're having a hard time. Just a hint: the way Ginasta's attacks work, your armor and level aren't very important (offensive power helps, though). Try changing up your strategy and trying a different party.
DeleteTip: Had a hard time with her too. Sex and Elements do little to her. Go for physical attacks and one focused on healing
DeleteSorry but i'm going to have to very strongly disagree Sierra, the tactic is nothing but luck, you either get crits or you fail, there is absolutely 0 sure fire ways to win this because she spams her immortality buffs along with her godhood passive, hope there is no bosses as awful as this again, it's almost like the heart of darkness or whatever guarding the incubus king's armor, had nothing to do but restart it over and over and over until i got perfect crits and forced the RNG.
DeleteThat's incorrect, I easily did it with a party of Simon, Carina, Hilstara, and Aka.
DeleteI had Carina use divine protection, Simon use Precise strike, Hilstara (the only one who died) use shield wall, and Aka use Disabling assault and Deathblow, only because deathblow has a stronger base damage than Forceful lunge, even though Ginasta can't get the status effect "Mortal wounds" or whatever it's called. if you do that, aka and simon won't get hurt much, and you can easily score 2000 damage on her each turn.
I only managed to GET to that out of sheer luck, I was stuck without mana at the Pier (during the summit) and I figured out that I could luck my way through the x2 stupid moths and that snail-thing.
Hey Sierra, I'm just curious about Varia during the "break control" ability a certain boss has. Will it cause any effects during the battle if I chose to dominate her will? I kept her mind intact.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't make a difference - even dominated Varia isn't being controlled in the way Ginasta's technique is designed to stop.
DeleteThe Ginasta battle is pretty easy if you focus on dps. After one try with my usual party, I went in with Varia, Aka and Robin, and I drop all the damage I could every turn. She went down in 3 or 4 rounds.
ReplyDeleteAll of Varia attacks gets blocked for me, any idea why ?
DeleteYou're using her strongest move aren't you? The one where she strikes 5 times? Each hit doesn't do enough damage to penetrate her defense, you're better off using her 10 mp single attack, which with the right buffs should be near 2k damage.
DeleteSimon should just stick to using precise strike.
Actually none of her attacks ever works, et after boosting simon i only deal 1.2k dmg (i have 135 ATK). I guess i rushed too many things for this first playtrough.
DeleteWhat worked for me was giving Carina my best MAG boosting equipment to make her a potent healer, and Robin my second best MAG equipment (since her base MAG is already impressive) so she can power through Ginasta's defense with her "xxx Lance" spells. I also had Aka spam debuffs, even though they didn't last long.
DeleteIt's a bit of a grind this way, but it works for me. Then again, I had the benefit of opening the Ardford vaults. You might have to buy new equipment if you haven't done the same.

ReplyDeleteLoved this update, no question (and, DAMN Ginasta's tough! - managed to beat her with ONLY Robin left standing...) but I'm thinking of starting it over. I actually kinda like the whole "whoring out Qum" having far reaching, longer term negative consequences, I'm wondering though, do you have any events that, similarly, have longer term positive effects? Would be great if you did :)
ReplyDeleteWhile they wouldn't operate in the same way, the game remembers the majority of your actions, and you can expect them to turn up again in future consequences!
DeleteI find myself loving Dari's title. All the others are like 'Assassin with Benefits' and 'Personal Elven Slut' or whatever, and Dari's is just 'Hungry'. Like, what's her next title going to be, 'Could Go For A Sandwich'? Awesome.
ReplyDeleteMaybe her title at 100 is 'Could Go For An Omelette", given Yarra's thoughts regarding the process of making them...
DeleteBy the way, has anyone come up with a good strategy for the fourth round of the Goddess of Magic demons? Simon's Unified Strike, Yarra's Haze of Sex and Aka's Poisoned Blade work sometimes, but not often enough. It only takes a few of them not locked down to deal 500-1000 damage to everyone.
ReplyDeleteTry Simon's Commanding Presence. It has a stun chance against all. And use Carina for Def buffs and mass heal. Personally, I also prefer Robin's Lance spells over Aka's debuffs for this fight.
DeleteI use Carina, Robin, and Altina. The latter two are there to take out the Thauma demons quickly *and* heal if necessary. MDF is key to making it through the first stages of the battle; Otherworldly Robes help Robin massively.
DeleteWith only Simon using physical attacks, eliminating the remaining pair of Soma demons should be very easy, albeit a bit of a grind.
Carina's Shield of Purity and Mass Heal help out a lot; try to have her use Mass Heal (and have Simon use Lust Renewal) right before the third battle ends so your party starts the fourth battle at maximum HP. Poor timing can mean you don't stand a chance in the fourth battle.
Well, you can use Simon, Carina, Robin and Aka as your team as well. You first keep using Simon's Precise Strike skill, then just let Carina do some Shield of Purity every 4 turns, just keep using heal instead of Mass Heal until the fourth battle. When the 4th battle comes, deal with the first 2 demons you pick to take out first (Make sure you debuff them). Keep using Shield of Purity and Mass Heal as possible (if someone fainted, use Simon's skill instead of Carina's Revive skill). Once the 2 demons have been debuffed, just keeping using Forceful Lunge and Precise Strike to kill the 2 demons. The rest is up to you. :D
DeleteI hate this update! It ends before I get a chance to stick it sideways to the Incubus King! RAGE!
ReplyDeleteSeriously though, I love all the little threads floating around that I can work with.
I love the update. The only thing was hard for me was beating Ginasta. By the way, is there a posibility that Ginasta will join the party and the Harem?
ReplyDeleteWell, there's always a possibility. ^-^
DeleteI dont know where else to ask so will try here >_<
ReplyDeleteWell didnt play TLS in long time cuz i prefer to do games with good plot like this in bigger part together but thats beside the point here is my problem:
I am doing Aka route in 2nd trial of "Order of Yhilini Thaumaturgy" and i did normal one alchemy one and reserch one when i wanted to finished i was asked if i wanna do 4th questions too(top right one) and i said yes but now whenever i try to do that one Trin says she is too tired and even going to sleep doesnt help >_<
That's because she's not going to take the test. No matter what you do it always go that way. I tried it on other test and found out that she only takes 1 test only. No take backs.
Deletetl dr >_<..... 1,5h or so old backup save "take back"? XD
DeleteTrin will refuse to take more than one test until something refreshes her status. This can happen by finishing another of Aka's main quests, or if you've done all those, sleeping at the palace. No need to replay a bunch!
Deletehehe too late replayed it really fast XD i mean it was way shorter since i skipped all the text that i already read and knew locations of things... i mean i could wait for solution but thats the thing i love about your game XD when i seriously start playing it i just dont want to take break XD
DeleteGreat update for just an aftermath! But where are Rick's father and uncle?? Checked all over town. Guess this is ongoing? Like the succubus relations quest?
DeleteAlso Ginasta is hard but not impossible...just takes the right team lineup and she's no sweat ;) (Ako, Robin and Qum)
I`m having a bad time with rick´sfmily quest, don´t want to leave him since it looks importart to aka (waifu) but . . . . . . . need help, at least hints
DeleteHopefully the wiki will be updated soon with this quest, so you might want to check it! For the record, though, depending on how well you did during the battle, it's possible for Rick's family to be dead. If you have his father and mother you can ignore his uncle, though.
DeleteYou can find the locations of the Rick's relatives here.
DeleteSo I've talked to Balia and Yarra and completed the breeding chamber, and there's an empty room in the tunnels by Orcent that seems like it would be the appropriate location, but nothing's showing up sprite-wise.
ReplyDeleteIs that normal?
Play just a little longer and you'll see. ^-^
DeleteI finished the chapter and am I correct in saying a breeding chamber doesnt actually show up (yet)?

ReplyDeleteI could have sworn there was discussion of Robin's... thing, here, but I'm not seeing it now. Possibly I imagined it? So I figured what the hell, I'll ask. How do people feel about it?
ReplyDeleteMyself, I kind of wish she'd become a sort of second Simon among the harem, which is swiftly growing ... not unwieldy, but at least extremely large. A co-harem, if you will, rather than the way it played out in this update.
Oh, also, Rick's sidequest felt kind of... weirdly game-y? Usually I hold you to higher standards, is all. Rick's parents tell him to go to the cathedral, and then... go looking for him in the inner court and outskirts? He never left the cathedral you told him to go to, guys. Did you even check?
I think Rick's quest was meant to do two things: lore-build the chaos of the war, and the means to solve a small amount of it, all the while include consequences of choices. His parents die if things don't go well if I'm not wrong... I found them, though I'd prefer some more emphasis on the direction I'm supposed to go.
DeleteLastly, regarding Robin, it happened for me right after I got a certain event with Balia. Talk with her a few times.
And by co-harem do you mean second guy who happened to have an incubus shard and/or had some secondary role in Simon's Harem? Simon can barely cum when 3 women are thrown at him, and as he absorbs the incubus shards he gets even lustier if I'm not mistaken. For him I'd say he probably has the smallest harem of any incubus King. On sharing, I'd personally vote 'no' to that idea, (I refuse to share!) but if Sierra includes it, more power to you.
There appears to be an issue with the shady succubus near the gallows during simon's route not appearing.
ReplyDeleteShe won't appear until you've gotten the tip about smuggling going on.
DeleteI think I may have found a bug with Rick's quest. His mother has spawned int he upper right of the Slums, sealed into a spot amongst houses that is innacessible.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the report, but I'm afraid I have to tell you that's improbable. There's an NPC in the inaccessible area, but she's just there for atmosphere. Rick's mother spawns southeast of her - if she isn't there, it's because she died in the battle.
DeleteI checked the wiki just to see whether I missed anything in my playthrough and apparently there is supposed to be a fight in house where Big Man used to be. But when I try to enter it, the old man in front of it just says go away and that's it. Am I missing something? Mind you, I have finished every single quest and done everything there is to do otherwise (except talk to Janine, which progresses the game further, of course). Is it because of my choices, that I can't enter the house or what? I mean I can live with that I suppose, I'm just curious whether I really can't enter or if I've missed something obvious?
ReplyDeleteThere is a requirement to enter that it's possible to miss, but there is an easy thing you might be missing: have you tried talking to the old man recently? He has to let you in first.
DeleteIn your Quest log, are all the quests in green color (except the Forging Ties one)? There are some quests that seems to be complete, but they are not finished...
DeleteApparently it wasn't clear enough when I said I've done everything else... ok, let me see... I go and talk to the old man before the "Big Man's house", he says: "The thughs got killed in the fighting, but now..." Simon asks "Do you need assistance?" And old man replies "...go away." When I try to enter the house, old man asks: "Haven't you meddled enough?" And that's it... When I talk to old man, same thing happens, when I try to enter house, same...
DeleteMy active quests are: "Forging Ties - candidates found: 6" and "Conquerer - Govern Yhilin"
Now if I'm supposed to finish either of those quests, please tell me what am I missing; I think I've tried talking to everybody and nothing else (new) is happening, but maybe I am missing something, it is possible. BTW there is also a quest called "Govern Yhilin" and that seems to be done... is it the same thing as in the "Conquerer" quest? Dunno... To be complete I can type all the quests that I have done (are green): "Introspection", "Preparation", "Govern Yhilin", "Policy Decisions", "Economic Recovery", "Orc Developement", "Matters of Faith", "Magical Affairs", "Rick's Family". In "Rick's Family" I haven't found his uncle, but I think that is fine? Since it's green. Anyway, any more questions?
For the record, getting into the house has nothing to do with how many quests you've completed, at least directly. It is tied to an invisible variable that might increase as you do events this update, hence why you might not be able to enter at first but gain access later.
DeleteHowever, the requirement to get inside isn't low. If your Ari-Yhilina is a wreck or you made decisions that upset people (like sending undisciplined orcs into the city), then it may not be possible to enter in your game.
"Govern Yhilin" is the ongoing chapter objective, so it's fine. As for Rick, his uncle is optional if you found his parents.
This comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteSo you can find the uncle as well? Guess I didn't look hard enough...
DeleteMy Ari-Yhilina isn't a wreck, is it? Like what does that mean? I got Queensmen bar closed, that's it. And maybe Economic chaos. Sure I did send Orcent to defend Janine, that's why? Like compared to what the wiki is saying, I've got pretty positive results. Now, again, if I'm still not supposed to enter, sure, fine. But like, I've got pretty good results from after the battle and I've done everything quest-wise and I'm still not supposed to enter? I just want to be sure it's not a bug, that's what I'm saying.
This isn't a simple binary thing, many different factors all increase the invisible variable that ultimately lets you into the house. The things I listed were only examples - sending Orcent, for example, is only bad if your orcs have low discipline.
DeleteAnyway, I'm basically certain it's not a bug.
Fair enough. You're talking about the hidden Yhilin score, I have never bothered to check how much I have, but it's true that I didn't do much that increase it. (At least when I looked it up in the wiki) I thought I did more they would like, oh well.
DeleteOne more question though. And I know what you gonna say, but hell, I'm asking anyway. Will the Chosen in the Big Man house play some minor role in the future? I mean for those of us that didn't kill him. And you won't tell, I know that. But hey, I tried. At least consider it, if you haven't. :)
It's a possibility, but his role won't be large. He's in there mainly to hand off a Shining Sword. =P
DeleteDidn't the Big Man copy die a hero in the sack of Yhilin? Mine did, anyway.
DeleteBig Man dies no matter what, but if you copied him he dies heroically. His house is still there, though.

ReplyDeleteAlso, as a sidenote... What is the point of funding Bridge Repair after the Reunion when you have to fund it again now? Did they not have enough time to finish making it or what? But then haven't I already funded it? Like I gave the guy 10k PRoN already so then why do I have to give him 10% of taxes as well? The game really doesn't explain this at all... I mean sure, I can come to the logical conclusion that because of the battle that happened, the costs for the bridge repair are increased (for what reason really? we haven't even touched the bridge during the fight), but even if that is the case, the guy doesn't even mention that. Like yea, oh, it's you guys who already gave me 10k to build the bridge, see... I will pretend that I don't know you and ask for more funds and of course you are dumb enough not to ask so it works out right? ...
ReplyDeleteThis is a bug, just one that isn't fixed in 0.19.3. If you funded the bridge repair during the Reunion section, it is set up to be finished later (after your return from the next plot segment). Unfortunately, I set things up wrong in the petition house, so the bridge repair guy shows up in his state as if you didn't spend anything. He'll disappear next version, but meanwhile don't give him any money and it will all work itself out.
DeleteMakes sense then.
DeleteAfter a few days of thinking about this chapter, there are four more things that I wanted to mention:
ReplyDelete-Should be there an scene before the fight with Ginasta, didn't had one, nonetheless it feels like an unclean cut.
-Will Robin call Simon by his name or will she call him father or something like this when they get intimate? Of course Simon seems obvious, but after all the years father could be burned in her mind.
The last two things aren't about this chapter, but still:
Did Robin ever meet Simons wife or was she already death when Simon and Robin met the first time? Would be nice if the knew each other, even maybe only for an short time. (We really have to collect her picture from Simons old home.)
-The last thing is just an minor thing, I think on the LoK Forum or on Fenexos you wrote semi-incest as an kink, but what about Nalili and Esthera? It's not an complain, I just wanted to mention it.
Of course I forgot two things:
DeleteI have met an person who needs to sell this special crystal type which we would need for robins item, but I couldn't buy it or somehow deal with him. Did I somehow miss this opportunity or will I have to wait for an later update for this deal?
And the other thing was, just to say it again and the mental support, I love your game. :D
Some answers:
Delete1) When you say there's no scene before Ginasta, what exactly do you mean? You should be passing through the palace, trigger a sleeping scene, then get interrupted by her arrival.
2) You'll find out. ^-^
3) Wendis and Robin missed each other by years, I'm afraid.
4) I wasn't really thinking about the succubi in terms of the incest kink, that's true. They kind of play things differently. =P
5) He's restricted from selling the crystals unless Robin researched Yhilini magic earlier. You'll be able to re-open his shop later, though.
6) Thanks, glad you like it!
1) Well there was an little non-sexual scene, but it seemed implied that there should be sex or did I misread it?
Delete2) I feared you would say that. D:
3) That's sad.. By the way, how old was Robin as she met Simon, was that somewhere mentioned?
1) The characters implied they'd be having sex, but there's no sex scene there.
Delete3) I... forget if I've mentioned this in the game, so I won't give specifics here. Robin was elementary-aged when Simon adopted her.
I did actually pick researching Yhilini magic, so that'll be nice. But for the regular crystals she needs (besides the Seer crystal) I'm worried we needed to invest in the 200k crystal mine lady from the other chapter?
DeleteWait wait waaaait... doesn't Robin say something along the lines of "I'd be avoiding this kind of thing anyway if Wendis were here" in a conversation after the interuption scene. Sorry if I'm jumping the gun here, might have remembered wrong(and i might be crazy) but I don't have a save anywhere near that so I can't check.
DeleteYou're remembering it right, Robin is just speculating based on what she's heard about Wendis.
DeleteDont know where else to ask so ill ask here. And im almost ashamed to ask the first one since most of u seem to have sailed past this point but here goes:
ReplyDelete1.Currently im in Stineford abandones house trying to kill the fell spiders protecting the sword at the end(which i dont know is good or trash). My team's a lvl 15-16 team, Simor-Aka-Hilstara-Qum. No matter what teamcomp i try or what skills i try i cant beat the spiders when there are 3 of them. And i cant find any place to grind levels to make the job easier.I even went bankrupt buying theives pin for poison immunity .:( Any tips?
2. I came to know of TLS from Noxian Nights. My question being will TLS at any point have h-scenes like NN where the text appears in a bubble on top and the screen shows the h-scene?
3.Is there or will there be a guide? It seems TLS will be a complicated story with multiple endings. I am loving it but i wanna be able to see multiple endings without finger breaking hard-work.
http://thelastsovereign.wikia.com/wiki/Guides
DeleteThat's the answer for 1. and 3.
For 2. No, besides it would take an huge amount of time to make pictures for all the scenes, especially the group scenes, it would cost an terrible huge amount of money, to hire an good artist with an style that Sierra likes, too. Also not many artist would take such an huge order and a lot of changing art styles wouldn't be so nice.
And don't be ashamed to ask, Sierra likes to challenge us. :D
About spiders. First, going through the house is optional. (the sword is just a collectible, btw) Now, you can run and evade them and just collect what you can from there, so in theory you don't have to fight against 3 spiders at once (the scripted ones, which you can't evade, are just against 2, which is much easier). If you do wanna kill all of them, prepare for a lot of save/loading. It's literally the hardest fight in the game (actually the only hard fight, sadly). What you could try is go with aka+hilstara+yarra/robin, that's what worked best for me. Yarra is preferable if you have buttplug equiped on her. As a first move with hilstara you provoke (shieldwall). And you pray they choose her as their target (she is actually pretty sturdy, compared to the rest of your party). So boost Hilstara's defense to max with items and then focus one spider at a time. And pray you kill them before they kill you. Oh and don't even bother using potions, they simply don't do enough in this fight. Now don't forget, as long as one of your members survive, you're fine. You can just leave, sleep to heal and return back. The other party that worked for me is robin+yarra+aka. Now the problem with this version is, that qum/robin simply can't heal you enough. So with this version you go all out attack and you hope they spread their attacks, so you get out as much dmg as possible as fast as you can. Again, you pray that you kill them before they kill you. Of course you should do everything else there is to do before fighting the spiders (quest-wise), every edge counts.
DeleteWell think of it this way:
Delete- you play NN for h-pics
- you play TLS for great plot and all great plot brings with it
My only problem with TLS is that there are not many similar games so when i catch up to the end of current game version i am always a bit melancholic for a day cuz i want to either keep playing (which i cant) or play something similar that i didnt play before (which i cant find any) but oh well... XD
TL DR: does anyone know game where you kinda play either evilish or gray side not some hero of justice, that has demons, good plot, perhaps corruption? (you know human going demon) and yes that pretty much why i like TLS so much.... it literally has exactly what i love and is rly hard to find games like that
Noob-RPGer: Contrary to the above, I DO want to get full art for TLS eventually. Patrons can tell you I've trialed several artists and commissioned some work, but we haven't found anyone I'm satisfied with yet.
DeleteTrados: Well, if you wait long enough, I will make more games like this. XP
hehe cant wait ^^ ofc gotta finish TLS first which probably gonna take few years XD
DeleteAnd well if TLS gets full art that would be quite nice i guess? :>
search for "overwhored" its a similar game to this one (in fact i found this one because somebody said there , that this one was similar)
DeleteWhen I read, " Well, if you wait long enough, I will make more games like this. XP," I inadvertently raised my hand in the air and said:
Delete"SIERRA LEE, YOU ARE MY GODESS!!!"
Needless to say, I should probably calm down...

ReplyDeleteHi, was wondering something about investments.
ReplyDeleteFor the first round of investments most of them cost 10-25,000 and paid out in the hundreds of thousands in the Long Term. That's anywhere from a x5 to a x8 multiplier for some of them. And the ones that didn't have such profits had other benefits.
After the Reunion most investments cost in the hundreds of thousands. Will we be seeing similar profit multipliers again? And if so will we actually be dealing with and investing PRON in the millions? Because if those multipliers continue to hold that's where we'd be ending up.
One other, non-investment thing: Will we be going back to Feroholm again in the future? If only for that portrait of Wendis?
Though the profit multipliers will be slightly lower, yes, you'll be dealing in millions of ProN by the end. ^-^ I have a big spreadsheet where I try to make some logical sense of the whole economy, but if you look at things too closely it's going to break down for the sake of game balance.
DeleteYou will definitely revisit Feroholm again, as well as most previous locations.
Cool. Will there be a point where we stop investing for profit? Or in general? Because those numbers are getting scary high.
DeleteAnd hell yeah!
After the second round of investments, there will be no more that pay out another set of multipliers higher, instead you'll keep drawing income at the same level. Also, my general plan is that after a while at this stage, players will start investing less for profit and more for the benefits involved.
DeleteMakes sense.
DeleteOne last thing: How important would you consider 2 RP's and 10 Agi and 10 Luck for Simon? In addition to maybe 5000 XP.
Because I have no idea if I forgot to pick up the Cache Investigation post-reunion and it's not showing up in my ledger, and if I did then I'd have to play through basically all Chapters 2 and what's there of 3 again because I saved over like a numpty.
And I'm not sure it's worth it.
Not very important at all, in the grand scheme of things. I definitely wouldn't replay for that.
DeleteStrongly suggest hiring Decanter to write RobinxSimon scenes, here's a sample.
ReplyDeleteHaha, nice! ^-^
DeleteI'm just curious about the ages. Let's start with Nalili You keep her age pretty ambiguous in the game. (Actually, most of the characters ages aren't explicitly told in the story.) I had for the longest time assumed she could not be more than 14-16 years based on her extremely youthful complexion, lack of independence, and immature naive thought process. It says on the wiki she's 18 (27 in human years), which came as a bit of a surprise to me. Did Patreon's rule about making all characters in adult fiction 18+ inspire some of these ages?
ReplyDeleteI looked up other party members ages and was surprised at how old so many of them were. Dari, who I thought couldn't be more than 15 is 22.
Robin doesn't seem to have an age up, though if I had to guess it'd be 17-18, considering she just got out of a high-school like place and still had more work to do.
The chosen Kai and Tal are 18, making them the youngest of all party members. Even Altina who was deeply in love with the chosen seems to be 22.
I thought Carina was a young naive idealist so I placed her at 22-25, but she was 28.
Varia looked like she could pass for early 20s... But seems to be in her early 30s.
Riala was a huge shocker. 60??? She's older than SIMON. She'll probably end up dying in a matter of months, forget years she's lucky to have survived this long.
Judging age based on portrait appearance is a bad idea, as the game uses RPGMaker's stock art (with only a few notable exceptions).
DeleteNalili is a succubus and they don't age quite the same way as humans. At least I read succubi's "alternative" age as "how closer to death they are", not as "real mental age", not least because the latter depends on life experience. Nalili is consistent with being a sheltered and spoiled high-class 18-year-old. (As a side note, I'm not sure how the wiki calculates succubi ages. I doubt that the aging process is intended to be linear.)
Dari is an orphan who has suffered a traumatic journey and a magical transformation that has messed up her mind. We don't know how she would behave under different circumstances. In any case, 22-year-old women who act somewhat immature for their age are not unheard off.
The Thaumaturgical Academy that Robin attended seems to be more like a college than a high school, so it's likely that she's around 20.
The Chosen's ages are unsurprising, since they are a satire of the whole "heroic teenager saves the world" cliche in JRPGs. The actual depth of Altina's love for the Chosen is... unclear, since we can only judge it from a hasty confession under extreme circumstances. The age gap is not that large, especially considering that Altina is an elf - they are another race that ages in an unusual way, not to mention that many Arclent elves apparently fit a certain in-story stereotype.
Carina has never read as "young naive idealist" to me, more like "pious and somewhat dogmatic", someone who has lived her whole adult life within the Church. Her rank and authority didn't suggest youth to me either.
Riala's age has been commented on and described as legendary in-story, so... ;)

DeleteI know that this is a crazy ass question and I'm going to sound like a complete little (insert expletive of choice here). But is there any way to skip past the "Merchant Trouble" quest. I've tried a few times and I can't get past the chasing unmen/unwomen/zombies. And I think it's because they really creep me out. I pretty much freak out every time I get to that part.
ReplyDeleteNo, that quest is an integral part of the plot. By "chasing" I guess you mean the wandering ones in the northern part of the house? A few tips:
Delete- don't forget that you can run by holding down the Shift key or using the "always run" setting.
- try just reaching Megail, instead of cleaning everything. She in the right room north of the main hallway.
- the wanderers can feel you through the walls, trying to approach you in something like a two steps forward, one step back pattern. You can use this to your advantage to manipulate them and clear a path through the labyrinthine passages to the east.

For some reason I can't reply directly, but this message is for Ken Sama and Marked by Neptune (cool nickname!) about the ages of some characters:
ReplyDeleteRobin doesn't seem to have an age up, though if I had to guess it'd be 17-18, considering she just got out of a high-school like place and still had more work to do.
The Thaumaturgical Academy that Robin attended seems to be more like a college than a high school, so it's likely that she's around 20.
Sorry about that, I forgot to include that field back in the day. She is 19 years old at the start of the game. Now she must be about 21, more or less.
Nalili is a succubus and they don't age quite the same way as humans. At least I read succubi's "alternative" age as "how closer to death they are", not as "real mental age", not least because the latter depends on life experience. Nalili is just a spoiled brat, not by age but by her circumstances. I have known some people with much less social position which have been pretty immature until their mid 20s.
About how the succubi ages are calculated: they aren't. The number are coming directly from the Lady herself ;-)
Played both of your games, and I have to be honest. The erotic side is excellent but frankly I skim through it. You have created 2 games(this and Ouroboros) that are so intellectually interesting and thought grabbing that I simply cannot get enough.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Obviously I care a lot about the writing side of my work, so I'm always happy when people think that's worthwhile enough to keep them playing. ^-^
DeleteAny tentative ETA's for an update?
ReplyDeleteIt's usually a month between updates, or 1 month + 1 week at the latest.
DeleteWe'll see if this cycle sticks to the usual schedule. I'll be making another post here in time, so expect further updates on the ETA.
DeleteI've got a question that's been bugging me for a while now. Since there's 14 Shinning Swords in all from the game, is there anyway to use them someday or are you just going to let those swords be like collectibles?
ReplyDeleteIt's both - you're collecting them for an eventual use.
DeleteOh great! Now I'm fired up to get all of those swords and finally figure out what your true intentions for those swords. XD
DeleteHey Sierra, Leethar here from Kimochi forums. I'm not sure if you've heard that Kimochi and Nutaku joined. One of the guys from Nutaku is trying to contact all the devs that had games with us and I volunteered to find missing contact info. It is possible that you've already been contacted through Hreinn Games so this all might be moot. Anyway, part of the contact is regarding this: http://www.nutaku.net/blog/nutaku-launches-2-million-adult-gaming-investment-fund
ReplyDeleteI would strongly encourage you or you and Nomo to at least look into this and ask some questions. I'd like to help make sure you at least have the opportunity to connect for communication and have already given them my endorsement of you (I honestly don't know what that's worth to them though.) If you'd prefer not to post an email I can pass on publicly, I'm sure we can find a way to communicate.
(I'm posting a similar comment on Hreinn's Blog too.)
This response is delayed, but I appreciate the notification. I believe I'm in contact with them, so I hope all goes well there.
DeleteCool. I especially wanted to make sure you two to knew about this. :) Glad you're in communication.
DeleteI decided to start another game a few days back, and I just finished Yarra's route today (tonight my timezone, anyway). If it would't be a problem, I'd just like to give some opinions / suggestions here...
ReplyDeleteAt the start of Yarra's route, you take control of the group while they're in Ari-Yhilina still, but other than speaking to a few Harem members, there really is nothing to do there but leave (and head to Rodak)
Why not make that portion a cut scene in itself (Yarra & co. speak with the other Harem members before they leave) and let the player take control once they've been transported? Just a thought :D
As always, keep up the excellent work!
So I've just finished the Battle for Yhilin in my latest playthrough, and I can't wait for the next update! But that's not exactly what this is about.
DeleteGoing back to Yarra's route, it gave us a chance to utilize Orcent for a bit... it made me think a bit, would there ever be a situation where (assuming you let the Impaler live and/or you managed to get Ralke) you could end up with an all Orc party (Orcent, Impaler & Ralke - in the case of my latest playthrough or w/o Ralke assuming you let the Impaler live)? I honestly think that'd be fun ;)
I guess I have a bug report to file, I don't see any other link to send it so I will post it here.
ReplyDeleteI just finished the initial treason fights and got my PRoN back from Megail in Yhilin. I invested with one mercenary troup, went back to the castle and say Hil's affection increased and after the bath scene with her my save file was gone and I could no longer save in any slot resulting in me having to restart the game since I know there is alot of stuff still left I haven't seen
I'm sorry to hear that happened to you. However, there is basically no way that a bug within the game itself could have deleted your save file. I would strongly suggest checking your antivirus or any other program that could have interfered, because it might do so again.
DeleteThanks, I guess I will look into that or make an exception for the program and such.... don't take it personally but I'm gonna go figure out how to use cheat engine so I can keep my health max and blow through the first half of the game to catch up. I won't use it to max levels or stuff but this would save me alot of catch-up time if I can just spam attacks in fights until I catch up
DeleteHi, was wondering something about hidden stat gains.
ReplyDeleteAfter the Battle of Yhilin, when you're cleaning up the city in the aftermath one of your objectives is to destroy House Jade once and for all.
After you do that you get a cutscene where Megail shares her life story with you. If she's already at 100 RP's you get +1 Yhilin acceptance.
My question is this: Before the Battle of Yhilin I was at 99 RP's with her and I got the absolute best outcome for the battle possible, so I should have been at 101 thus getting the Acceptance bonus.
Thing is I got her Vow of Eternal Loyalty speech after House Jade had been already cleared, so I was wondering:
Did I get the Acceptance bonus? I should already have been at 100 RP's-it's just that her constant focus on House Jade prevented me from hearing her Loyalty speech beforehand.
You got the bonus! I knew people might not have been able to have the conversation with Megail even if they met the requirements, so the acceptance check looks at Megail's total RP, not whether you've seen her loyalty speech.
DeleteYesssss.
Deletewhen did the new version relesase? ,,, i just done playing and it end with that cloak man though it say next chapter in the elvest forest ^^ must be nice place ,,, i wait for the next release and hope didn't wait too long
ReplyDeleteThere's a new update every month. Hopefully just a week or two down the road, now.
DeleteBacker builds also come out a week before the public version of the game.
DeleteLikely not the best place to ask, but I'll try other places if it takes like a week to get a sure answer.
ReplyDeleteHey Sierra, you might not be reading the comments to this post anymore since it's almost a month old, but I have a question only you can answer, everyone else can only really theorize.
I'm writing what is my specialty, that being really bad fanfiction, and I need to know about the Chosen's blessing of Ivala.
I would have once assumed that the blessing gave said blessing based on how much Ivala likes those in the Chosen's party, and that would be why Simon got zilch while the girls would get some and the Chosen would get far too much.
However, I replayed the game to check out a bunch of things, and Yarra actually receives EXP from Ivala's blessing. Does this mean that the Chosen actually is the one that decides who gets the EXP? They get a greater amount of EXP based on how much he likes them, and he likes himself a LOT and girls a lot and Simon almost not at all?
Not urgent, but it's the only question I have at the moment that I can't find a definitive answer for. Aside from those that would be spoilers if you answered them so I obviously wouldn't dare even ask. If this is a spoiler too, just don't respond, no need to spoil that it is a spoiler by telling me it's a spoiler.
Man that was long even though my question was short...
I would assume that Ivala likes Yarra more than she likes Simon, seeing as how one is just a succubus (albeit an elite) while the other is a nascent Incubus King.
DeleteThis is a question that the game will return to, actually, so I guess it's a minor spoiler. For now, let me say that your theory about the Chosen deciding who gets the EXP is definitely on the wrong track.
DeleteAlso, are you really writing fanfiction? ^-^
Yes I am writing horrible fanfiction and I'm really sorry.
DeleteAlright, then I'll work without mentioning how the power is granted via the blessing.
It's not so strange that I'd write fanfiction, I've read one already from the perspective of the Chosen in Yhilin that calls you Samson and wants you to bring chicken. It's surprising to me that I've only found the one, however.
If your question is because you'd rather not have fanfiction written, as some authors and directors seem to prefer, let me know and I'll immediately stop writing and delete anything that might have already been posted; Nothing has yet though.
One more question; The days Simon spends travelling that lead up to the invasion of Ardoheim by the Incubus King, since the number of days would be actually defined were it a real situation instead of a game mechanic that changed hidden stats and allowed for you to access more content at a slight penalty...
How many days would you prefer that be?
I'm a rambling type so I should probably end this while the reply is so short, even though it isn't really. Once again, not urgent. Obviously since it took me two days to even check for a reply.
I don't think I'm familiar with the fanfic you mentioned - link me! I'm personally rather surprised, as TLS isn't terribly established as an IP.
DeleteRegarding fanfiction in general: I don't mind at all provided the writers understand that it's a fun thing to write, not a legally protected derivative work. But that's just to be clear in case of a worst case scenario - I'm fine with it, I've written a solid chunk of fanfiction myself.
Regarding day totals: depends on how you're writing Simon. The minimum possible and maximum reasonable totals roughly correlate to a Simon that ruthlessly focuses on goals and one who explores more options methodically. There is no canon number because it depends on the player, but in my opinion a balance that gets all the major elements (like Altina) in the most efficient amount of time is truest to Simon's personality.
I will assume 'Solid Time' then. I'm sorry to be a bother. I wasn't asking about Simon's choice of how long to take though, and was asking about how long from when Simon leaves Yhilin, until Riala tells Simon 'The Incubus King has declared war and you don't want to know why.' I'll take it to be the same, at somewhere in 'Solid Time,' because if that's where Simon's personality would land the number of days, then that would be as close to the actual date the Incubus King would declare war as possible.
DeleteI do not actually keep links of fanfiction that I run across since I read so much of it. It's the only story for TLS that I've read so you'd assume I would remember it's title at least but I only remember that it was something like 'Ivala Damned Wall,' or something because he was SO CERTAIN there was something legendary behind that wall he's often looking at. I tried searching but I can't find it, but when I do I will link you immediately. It's not a work of art but it is very entertaining.
I'm glad. Fanfiction is my lifeblood, and TLS is working it's way into my heart as one of my favorite games; Something an RPG maker game has never done, and I've played nearly two thousand of those. It's so in-depth I don't know how you can possibly keep it up. I'm very glad it's made in VX Ace because I can't play MV games on my laptop.
In the very least, if you haven't seen much fanfiction, in your absence I will attempt to forge a... Hopefully at least acceptable story out of the common Peggy Sue plot and your own. Ginasta fucks Simon up eleven ways to Ivala and then he's back on the mountain top with Altina waiting for a Chosen. Honestly I wanted to write this because I had actually assumed Ginasta was impossible to defeat when I first faced her because it took me upwards of 100 tries with many different party configurations and equipment and strategies. I believe I was just underlevelled, but eventually I made it through. I understand Canon Simon wins the fight but I'll have him lose as badly as I did just to start my Peggy Sue.
Something that's incredibly common in every fanfiction, but I pride myself in being the first to use an incredibly common plot that is slowly becoming uninteresting to the world at large for a new and developing fandom. I'm not a good enough writer to do much else.
All my responses are so long and I'm sorry. I always notice after I'm almost done and then go back and shorten it. Yes these are all the shortened versions, this was nearing 5000 words before editing. I don't even know if Blogspot lets you send that much in one reply. This is all just what I considered important, and some of it kind of isn't important but MIGHT be.
how do i beat ginasta the sword woman that regains health its so hard she blocks any multi attacks and i cant deal damage past half because she just heals her self how do i beat her!
ReplyDeleteHow do i beat her!!!
DeleteVery slowly with a group that can all heal and buff. I used Simon, Hilstara, Aka, and Cumdump. Honestly I healed and buffed with Cumdump the whole time, and everyone was dressed in full defense equipment, Simon even using a claw, Hilstara used her defense buffs and provoke, and Aka disabled, so the enemy had -2 to all the good stats and I had +2 to all the good stats, then I lunged and precise striked and powerful blow. Don't forget that BUFFS HEAL so even 'hold the line' is more useful than it seems.
DeleteThere's a ton of ways to beat her, but at below level 30(Average 30, but Simon was only 29) this is all that worked for me, so I imagine that above 30 it should be the most powerful as well although. I only used one large mana potion as far as items. I was pretty depressed to note that poison didn't help, normally I use poison and then just guard on strong bosses(Because I'm underlevelled since I avoid like half the combats) but obviously poison didn't help against her.
I would actually suggest not bothering with defense vs Ginasta, because it doesn't do much. Tyrant Slayer is, as far as I can tell, something akin to percent-based damage, since it hits roughly the same percent on any character regardless of defense. Triple stacking Carina's Shield of Purity did not meaningfully reduce the damage. Aka is essential for her ability to debuff Ginasta, removing the buffs from Enduring Aura and then stacking debuffs. One of the healers, whoever you prefer, and Robin or Varia. My first try was a truly epic battle, but it was anything but optimized, considering I had Yarra and no Aka... In many ways I loved the epic, drag-out-beatdown feel of that attempt, which I did eventually win, but all-out attack with things she doesn't resist will win the fight very quickly.
DeleteI don't think that's possible, it being a percentage health damage, because it takes about 80% of my Actor's HP without the defense buffs and 50%ish with them. Unless it also deals about that same amount at higher levels, and 30% HP isn't a meaningful amount, that can't be correct. I couldn't possibly have won without defense buffs.
DeleteI felt the need to test this after discussion--academic curiosity and all that. And for me, regardless of defense buffs, or character defenses, Tyrant Slayer was hitting characters for roughly 80% of their hp. My belief that it's percent based comes from the fact that this degree of damage is consistent across all my characters, regardless of not only buffs, but their actual defense values. Something that takes 80% off Hilstara should kill Robin, but it doesn't. My party is significantly higher leveled--34-36--and well geared, but if anything, the fact that I was taking similar damage percents to you would support the idea... Not sure why you were able to reduce it, I thought maybe it was based on your base hp and you were buffing max hp with encourage, but Aka seemed to take increased damage when I increased her hp with encourage. I didn't test this extensively, though, so that could be the explanation still.
