New update for supporters on Patreon or SubscribeStar! Version history updated, you know what to do, etc.
TLS 0.78.0
- All 169 achievements for Steam are now added and active.
- Over a hundred new attack animations added and thousands of changes made to the enemy database. Few balance changes, just an overhaul of the visuals.
- New sprites for certain characters: Aka, Robin, Uyae, Grynyth, Bertricia, Fheliel, Sarai, Tertia, Varia, Wendis. All sex animations have been updated to match.
- New battlers added: Mestan and Lilith.
- Sequence of new map images added to the intro.
- A significant number of busts thanks to Lamsey, culminating in the full Ardford council. I believe we have now changed all the major characters we plan to change.
- The custom LUK script has been modified yet again, this time hopefully insuring that enemies don't get any extra critical hit chance.
- Orilise now comments on the library completion throughout the game. She also activates the library achievement.
Unusual update this time. Aside from numerous assorted things I've been working on in the background, the focus is on all the Steam stuff (trading cards and achivements) and the attack animations. Just another step in polishing up the game before the final release.
The main purpose of this update is the public Steam version, so it should only be a week barring some major problem.
What is the strangest ship you have heard between your characters, its been a while since i played so what I am saying is defintely outdated, the weirdest ship I have had in this game is between Bakhan and Annah, mainly because I want him to be Duke of Stineford and because they both have red hair
ReplyDeleteHaha, this is an interesting question, but I'm not sure I have a great answer for you. A lot of the discussion is just "Simon x ???", so yours actually has a good chance of being the most unusual!
DeleteThere seems to be an issue with the top-right fight in the lustlord tower segment, where the twisted desire is placed on top of the two fucklords inklings.
ReplyDeleteCould you upload a screenshot? Either of the mob that triggers the fight or the battle itself.
DeleteSure! This is actually version 77.2, but I didn't think about that (as I am currently playing on the Steam version). https://imgur.com/a/O9ggVad
DeleteYay one more update that puts us close to the 1.0 release cant wait to celebrate such culmination of work!
ReplyDeleteIf I may ask what work is pending to make 1.0 closer to release? would you say is ok to start at least with the first 2 chapters then wait for 1.0? or more polish is expected on the early chapters?
Various things are pending: the postgame, battle images, early revisions, and other polishing. Whether or not to play depends on which kinds of things matter to you - the biggest change will be all the new images added to combat. Early revisions will not be huge, just things like making Altina unmissable.
DeleteComing from testing the Steam version and I couldn't seem to get any new achievements at the moment when trying my saves. Does it mean I need to make a new save or won't the achievements activate until the public release later on?
ReplyDeleteThe update is currently only available on Patreon and SubscribeStar, meaning that the Steam version has not been updated yet. When it does update (on Friday) you will not need a new save or anything.
DeleteQuick question if the war voult is open and the unhuman notion success does commander Geoff lives or not
ReplyDeleteThis type of question is probably best asked on the forum or Discord. Lots more people there!
DeleteHeey there. I've recently finished the game and spent some time thinking about some of the implications of the final great events. First of all Wendis not allowing you to be the Keeper at the end if her cohesion isn't high enough (80+ I believe). I thought this was remarkable. The way I viewed this was, if you see Wendis as the Jungian shadow (so something akin to the destructive force we have inside ourselves) you're making the case that taking the path of not embracing all power/all control (literally fate itself in your hands), then that part of you that would work against life will then actively attempt to destroy it. That stroke me as a remarkable take on self-sabotage. On the other hand, Wendis will be perfectly fine with you grabbing full control (even if you're supposedly not gonna use it), with a cohesion as low as 30. So when used to dominate, so to speak, our shadow is much more easily recruited towards our purposes. There was one little (in my take not that little) thing take displeased me about Antarion, though. The final "hero" that mimics the start of the game. The fact that Simon just kills him and there's no choice nor consideration about it seemed to me to mirrors precisely the kind of thing Simon himself said about not paying more attention to him being the best way to go about it. Well, just murdering him in cold blood, from a plot perspective, seemed to be the exact opposite of that: it gave him way too much importance, and it was the only time I actually couldn't come to terms with a murder decision by Simon. I can see the "killing the fake hero" theme there and its importance, but it was done much more elegantly with the death of the first chosen in the early parts of the game. I'm sharing this in hopes that you might share a rationale that could help me come to terms with it, but on the whole the experience of the game and the narrative was very interesting and enjoyable to me. Thanks for this great work. I'm looking forward to playing some more.
ReplyDeleteHello, I'm glad to hear you enjoyed TLS overall!
DeleteI seriously considered giving the player multiple options for Antarion, but in the end decided against it. While it is murder, I didn't intend for the player to consider it unjustified: Antarion does commit multiple war crimes over the game, after all. It is tying off the final loose end that could threaten everything the characters have built over the course of the game.
