TLS 0.73.0 Released!

New update for supporters on Patreon or SubscribeStarVersion history updated, you know what to do, etc.


TLS 0.73.0

 - Vhala has a "harem" quest, starting in the base hallway after the Incubus War.

 - Stineford has been entirely overhauled! This is one of the biggest visual updates I've done to the game and I'm just crossing my fingers that I didn't screw something up during the upgrade.

 -  If Sarai was sexually restricted in your game, you can now get her to join the harem via her personal quest (if you already finished it, there's an alternate event in her tower). This is functionally the same, but involves some new conversations and dialogue variants.

 - Nalili's quest now grants an additional reward, which can be found in her room even if you've already completed the quest. This is necessary for...

 - A short quest that will grant a final battle item, if you've gathered all four major ingredients.

 - Fuani now appears in the Renthnor Wilds guild, offering tips about all incomplete harem quests.

 - Yarra's upgraded sex room now has two alternate configurations, for those who complained about the original tiles.

 - Additional details around the base dependent on country scores, now covering Darghelon, Gheldaron, Zirantia, Erosia, and Rodak.

 - Depending on the Entity Cohesion variable, you can see a scene resting under the tree at the Nostalgic Home.

 - The final Shining Sword bonus is now available. I intend to add one more in the last optional dungeon for flex, however.

 - During the Orilise segment of the elven forests sequence, the timer running out should now cause game over. This needs more testing.

 - Did you know that the majority of cases refer to "Miners' Junction" but in 29 locations I accidentally wrote "Miner's Junction"? Well, not anymore!

 - Bug where you could see Wendis transformed early fixed.

 - Thanks to Rachnera, TLS has advanced keyboard remapping options in the System menu.

 - There are now control tutorials when starting a new game.

 - What may be the final investments of the game, pending any final balance tweaks.

 - The placeholder in the teleportation room has finally been replaced with Riala, who will check preparedness and lead to the final battle (next time).

 - One new sex scene.

 - New illustrated scenes: Elleani Relief, Megail x Iris Anal, Janine Wedding Night

 - Assorted bugfixing and polishing.


Aside from the new content, this update includes both stuff necessary to polish up the game before the wider release and details that only hardcore fans will care about. It took longer than I wanted, which I regret, but I think this was a necessary step toward the final game.

This is meant to be the final open world update before the finale. I want to finish everything, including new issues that may come up, so no promises about when this one goes public.

  1. Wow, so many new things !!!! Gonna have fun finding everything.
    Ah, and now there's only 5 more sections before the end..... It's frightening to say the least.
    At least, after it's finished, you'll finally have the time to work on all the bugs I managed to find over the years XDXDXD

You know, Glass Lady in the first Gathering, no Zelica memorial portrait, Simon not emerging from the armor in Erosian War, Sabitha portrait being the wrong one for her demon form, Simon stepping over the campfire after killing Tal and many other little things you can't take a look right now since it's far back in the past. I made a list somewhere, I think.

    3. On the topic of small bugs, I have three very small ones from a while ago that I completely forgot to mention, so apologies if these are either already fixed or they are just too nitpicky.

      1: in the orc pools https://imgur.com/Nn2kUa8, I am guessing that these two are supposed to talk to eachother since they are facing eachother and not move, but after you talk to the one i encircled, he starts walking.
      2: I don't know if this one is even fixable in VX Ace, but in Sarai's tower, https://imgur.com/a/RjeQhtD, the painting of her is graphically in front of the top part of the bed.
      3: https://imgur.com/a/CUv13pZ during the second gathering intro, the orc on the left isn't hidden during the cutscene.

  2. Does the mark on Renthnor Wilds (on updated roadmap) mean that it's completed (quests-, locations- and npc-wise)?

    1. Correct. It's not a major new quest so much as a culmination of all of them being done.

    2. I see. Well, I didn't expect new major quests on RW so much as maybe a couple of additional explorable locations (maybe even with some lore) or some kind of investment (for developing this frontier-like region).

  3. Started this game, like, from 0.18 or so version. So if this takes time, so be it.
    Considering how much things you are giving to this game, it's already the massive project.
    I think, most fans today are already can be considered hardcore for playing this game, so those "small" details are actually great. Considering, that replaying this game is fun and even after so many tries and errors (I did a lot of bad things on the way...) I still find some minor things and wonder how could I missed them...

    2. Today I can say, that it's more than just an interest.
      I mean, this game has so many interesting characters, good plot, a lot of things to think about... while still being able to joke, tell a tales, show both sides. Not Simon's as good, and others as bad, but those things we are doing.
      And also allowing us to actually play both sides as well: I can do some good actions, and sometimes play as... bad guy (like brainwashing Varia).
      There are not many games, that actually goes to politics, so this side is good too (not perfect, but... still good).

  4. Hey, random FYI; the "Sierra's Work" page on this blog says that TLS has been in production for "over two years". I guess that's technically true, but don't sell yourself short.

    1. And did you scrape the 'shadow tendrills in combat' idea forever or will you work on it after the epilogue ?
      (I'm reading the old updates and finding back all the good ideas that were never developed ^^)

  6. Although I'm not on the 0.73 version, this is the top one so apologies if these are already fixed. I like to poke around in RPG Maker in different games purely to see how they are made/structured (which is interesting in itself to see the differences in different games). But this way I found two very very minor bugs:

    King Relondo, in Eustrin B9, his first and fifth event page both use Self Switch A, which means that if you talked to him during chapter 3, you'll never get the second talk (unless that's intentional)

    In Gasm Falls, the succubus in front of the message boards (https://imgur.com/a/4KQAV19), her second and third event page both only check for the chapter five switch, and I assume the third one is for after the incubus war

    1. Lots of people open the game, but nobody has caught these! Both of those look like oversights or misclicks, so I'm happy to fix them, thanks. ^-^

    2. I found another textual error maybe (at least it makes sense in my head). When you talk to the succubus on the 3rd floor of the Succubus Tower in stineford (https://imgur.com/a/HH6pbJi) in chapter 4, she'll ask you to find someone to help with potions.
      At the moment if the switch for Rachila is dead = ON, Robin and Riala are actively talking about finding someone to retrain them ("Perhaps someone could be found"), while if Rachila is still alive, Robin and Riala are talking about finding someone "eventually", with a much more resigned tone.

      Maybe its just me but for me it would make more sense if those two texts are switches, so they are actively talking about finding someone if Rachila is still alive, and a more passive approach if Rachila is dead.

    3. I think you're correct; the self-switches are correct for one of those being a quest prompt, but the dialogue is switched.

  7. Shame you can't edit posts, but this mob in the Tower Mine accessible from Wendis (https://imgur.com/a/lmEoIeh) is missing a switch in event page 3 (probably Misc: Open Roads)
