Nothing is working and I am cross. -_- I managed to get the main two uploads done, but I can't promise when the Mediafire mirror or the Steam version will be updated.

Current problems aside, the update itself should be solid! This one had two weeks of refinements, so everyone should have a good experience unless I bungled a bugfix at the end. With this, we wrap up a major loose end and a couple harem quests, bringing the quest much closer to the end.
Well, after my computer shut down for no reason 3 times, I finally completed the update !!! So let's get to it before it shut down a fourth time and delete my impressions again :
ReplyDelete- Good job Lynine !!! We are so used to see Simon using logical arguments only for her to ignore them, so your intervention is much appreciated. Not that it change much, she run away. But yeah, we have to take care of her.

- I agree with Orilise, better to hit directly the higher ups rather than bully the lower recruits. Plus they don't give good exp since they aren't Tower enemies.
- Welp, this negociation went as well as expected. Let's roll out !!! Not that they can ever stop us anyway. We have 3 goddesses, 1 incubus Queen, a Demon, and a litteral Abomination. Shame they can't fight with us.
- "Kill all humans !!!" Whoa there, good thing we stopped you. And that we're strong. Extremists are always scary since they don't listen. Then again, it's a cult.
- "Wretched thieves !!! Horrid bandits !!!" Spoils of war, requisitioned goods. Plus, you ARE trying to kill us.
- You know your organisation is doomed when you start to wish the other side wins. Or when your Goddess literally throw you to the predator knowingly. But yeah, considering their attitude so far, there are a surprisinging number of reasonable peoples here.
- No shining sword ? What a surprise. Must be because of the lack of depths in this part of the Tower. I appreciate the Pron though ^^
- Break control ? Been a while since I saw that skill. Haaaah, the good old times when Ginasta was too angry to listen...... It's been so long...... Like literally, has it been 10 years already ?
- The boss fight was easy. Just drink a Lust draugh, King's Aura then beat it up. In 4 turns she was gone. So Melymin is in a perpetual coma ? Sad for her, but she would only create more problems if she were to wake up. By the way, is it possible for us to do the same ? I know we have the Doomed King, but I'd like to go 'GUNDAAAMMM !!!!!!!' too XDXDXD
- ............... Not.... what I expected. Oh God, she's an Andra !!!! Run away !!!!! "I don't want to do it." Yeahh, me neither. More seriously, for me she feel lonely and afraid, and she refuse to admit it. Typical 'loner pushing people away' move. Orilise is very bloodthirsty today.
- So, what to do ? Like for Estaven, I have a hard time taking a decision. The perfect compromise sadly don't exist (like always), so it all end up between getting the shards or maintaining balance. "We can find solutions later, like Ulrissa." Siiigh, then there is only balance.
- You know you messed up somewhere when a litteral incarnation of lust become impotent before you. Also, can you please SHUT UP ??? I'm already regretting my choice...... It's true that Simon was spoiled.
Thanks Yarra. Anyway, sad to think we'll need to support her..... FOR ETERNITY. Then again, we can always change our mind later.

- Ooofff, she experienced the Northern Kingdoms fall directly ? Yeah, no wonder she became so manic each time she saw an Incubus King. And such an event is sure to leave heavy scars. Her personality was modified, and her increasingly isolationism with xenofobic fanatics didn't help.
Delete- Overall, I'm happy we saved her. Grynith have a lot of baggage, and after breaking through her defenses, she's not that bad.

- In the end, we mostly saved her from herself. How much longer could she have held on before collapsing entirely into a xenophobic hivemind ? She was already eroded from the Northern Kingdoms after all.

DeleteThe party doesn't really have the magic set up to turn a party member into a boss like that. By the way, Melymn isn't in a coma forever, you can find her out in the world after the event.
Glad you liked Qum's dream sequence! I'm unsure what style that scene will have, since it covers so many events. It might be the group in bed with Grynyth standing over them instead of illustrating all the dreams.
Heeeh, that would remove half the fun !!!! The best would be to change the style according to the dream. That would mean sharp for Megail, bubbly for Qum and dark/painted for Carina depression. Then again, it will depend on the artist and you, so good luck.

ReplyDeleteIf I understand correctly, it's locked behind the newly introduced harem quest. However, in my game, that quest is unavailable due to plot reasons.
Does that mean I've effectively soft-locked myself out of the rest of the game, or will there be options to access the new plot quest through a different method in upcoming updates?
I've been with this savegame for close to a decade now I think and it would be a major shame if I had to start over... especially since I've cloked like 120 hours into the save and I don't have the time to do it all over again.
Ah, a bit related to this and I forgot to write it in my report, I've noticed in my first run in the Goddess Trainer that if I didn't unlock Mast***ate early, I would end up stuck with 1 frigidity and 1 self justification and nothing to progress further.

Henduluin: You're referring to Theltiar being destroyed? This won't lock you out of the ending, but it does lock off a fair amount of other content and it's worth considering whether or not that decision should be revisited.
DeleteSaphartlantis: It's possible there's a bug, but I believe some of the optimized paths involve ignoring that option until the end. I think it's more likely that some small event is missing, but if there's really an issue, figuring it out with the community would be the way to go.
That's a shame, but one of the reasons I like this game is that decisions actually matter, so I'm sticking to my world.

To be clear, I wasn't saying that you need to reconsider, but that I would. I do want to keep most consequences (so Theltiar will remain destroyed) but I think the game might be better if it was possible to access more content via alternate means.
DeleteThe completionist in my would definitely approve of alternate routes to see various pieces of content, but there's also something to be said about just straight-up locking people out of said content if they make certain choices.
DeleteHell, in Baldur's Gate 3 I made a rather big oopsie in Act 2 that killed off various (important) characters and took away a major quest hub. Had they given me an option later to undo this, it would've cheapened the earlier experience I think.
Instead now I had a unique and impactful experience that made the rest of the story more interesting.
Of course, I know jack all about creating stories and/or games, but that's my personal view on this as a consumer.
Yeah, you won't get Theltiar back, and it wouldn't make much sense to include Lynine's quest without it. However, the plot quest being locked by hers is basically incidental, so I'm considering alternate methods of reaching it.

DeleteI think I may have found a bug. The decision regarding Grynyth seems to affect RP even though the values are supposed to be locked already.
ReplyDeleteSpecifically, I lost points with Uyae, Elleani, Dari, Wynn, and Janine after claiming Grynyth. Others who were supposed to lose RP after claiming her didn't lose any however.
This is actually an issue with how RP is normalized with certain characters. It will be fixed next build, including for old saves.

ReplyDeleteDuring the Erosian War, in Ghenalese Battlefield 2, when Ginasta have gone rogue, you have the choice to fight her or dominate her. When you choose the first option, Simon is supposed to emerge of the Doom King Armor and confront her as himself.

Hello! Unless there's dialogue specifically saying that Simon is coming out of his armor, I'm pretty sure he's just speaking to her from inside it. The transition animation is some work and I don't often do it.

ReplyDeleteThey do talk about it in some scenarios, so I assume you mean that their relationship values don't change? Yes, I felt like they understand the difficulty of the choice and would be more neutral, to put the emphasis on the opinions of the main harem.
