If you have an account you're willing to associate with an adult game, please review! As a free RPG Maker game, it's pretty much going to sink or swim based on good reviews. Letting people know your thoughts about the game is good, but even short reviews are votes of confidence!
There is also a pure donation DLC because people on the forum requested it. This fixes the game in your Steam library but otherwise does nothing. Originally I wanted to make the DLC give you a few images, just for fun, but I've given up on this because trying to work with Valve's back end systems is misery.
Hopefully the Steam release will encourage some new people to try TLS for the first time. I also have my fingers crossed that it won't prove too time-consuming, as I'd like to get focused on creating things again.

DeleteAs far as I can tell, dwarves and their entire civilization are basically a setup for in-character impregnation fetish. Since Simon's too responsible to have kids in the middle of the war... Unless having kids is in itself a responsibility. It is both politically and personally important for Neranda to have children.
DeleteHe'll probably do something else too. Non-sexually activated lust magic on their women that increases fertility? I don't think he can use it on men unless he learns Qum's new trick. A stranger option: he imbues supernatural vitality into a large amount of cum, then they make vaginal suppositories for the willing that will work for like a year before the sperm dies.

This is a nice idea, and I actually made an effort, but Steam can be a real pain to work with and I didn't want to risk the DLC somehow breaking the main game.

DeleteWould it ever be possible to give some characters a fourth 'on-demand' scene? Like Robin, for example. She gets that new form, but you can only see it for one scene. I'd think it would be believable if Robin had an 'on-demand' scene where she gives Simon a boob job: all for the sake of 'practicing to control/master that form'

Most artists don't want to commit to a project of this size, even if they don't already have their own work. I don't think I'll be able to find someone who fits the role.

what about dmitry or deberzer? I used to talk to deberzer on messenger way back when it still existed and he was willing to work on commissions (maybe you dont like him as an artist tho)
DeleteThe thing is, TLS is a tricky job because the female cast is so large. There are artists who are clearly very good at what they do, but mostly draw pinups, which is different than the type of scene art that would be required for TLS. The ability to draw a wide range of emotion would also be high priority for me.

DeleteTo trigger updated Yhilin, you need two things:
1) High enough Yhilin variables.
2) Passing through an update cycle (investments).
The last update did not contain #2, so even if you have enough, it won't happen yet. But the next update will include investment results, so work on Yhilin a bit and you should be able to get Janine's wedding next time!
Ah, so that's what it was. I was afraid I might have accidentally broken the event/update by using the debug NPC a couple of versions back that tweaked a few variables. I actually checked my saves for said variables to see if they weren't at some impossible number but they seemed fine (and high enough if the wiki's anything to go by). Just need to wait for investments then.
ReplyDeleteOn a somewhat related note, I had Janine at 100 intimacy before the most recent update, but she's down to 97 now. I had the impression intimacy got locked at 100 once you reached that level, or does that only happen when people officially join the harem?
Some heroines' intimacy locks require specific events. I think Yhilin Final allows you to lock Janine's.
DeleteCharacters aren't locked by reaching 100, but by a specific conversation in which they say they trust you. For most characters the only requirement is 100, but some like Janine require other factors.

DeleteI don't know if this is a bug or not, but Elleani talks about how it looks like they're going to need a High Priestess backing them if they want to get to speak. However, she says this before the official ruling comes out when you come back from Ardford. Was that rule already established at that point? I thought the point of the first day of deliberation was to cover that in the ground rules.

Deletehey @Sierra Lee I wanted to ask you,have you considered shifting to the newer MV engine? From a player perspective its features are better, I see very few developers adopting the new engine, any insight why that may be? Different coding? Limited devlopement features compared to older engines?
ReplyDeleteWell, I did use MV for Ouroboros and I'm using it for the upcoming Once Ever After. It's fine as an engine and the ability to make web and Mac/Linux builds is nice.
DeleteJust shifting TLS over to it would break nearly everything in the game, though. There are dozens of custom scripts that wouldn't work at all in MV, all the art assets are based on VX Ace, most scenes would need to be recreated, etc. It would be many months of work with no advancement.
As for why people don't adopt it in general, that's less certain. The huge library of custom content and scripts that has built up around VX Ace over the years is likely a major reason.

DeleteWhile it might be fun to work with a larger studio, the AAA game industry can be rough on writers. Like poor Bioware, forced to make a shooter/looter by EA and potentially fired by corporate overlords. In terms of establishing a solid foundation for myself, Patreon is actually a superior option in many ways.
Having said that, it would certainly be interesting to explore working with a studio. I'm not pursuing that right now, but I'd think hard if an opportunity came to me.

DeleteIf it does work out, I would like to ask you to consider inlcuiding other images in addition to sex scenes. I realize that art is more expensive than I intuitively expect, but I'm sure some splash images at key points in the story would improve the game more than just having every sex scene illustrated.
DeleteFor comparison, I was really disappointed with Valkyria Chronicles 3 using the very limited space on the PSP disk to make a cinematic of the girls in the beach instead of one with Selvaria kicking ass.
If we move forward, I'll be polling patrons about such preferences. At least a few story pictures are a certainty, maybe some more if people want.
