Version 0.17.4 (added to this post 4/6)
- More polishing.
*Note for imported saves: your background music may not update until you re-enter an area.
Looking above, you can see part of why this release took so long. With the completion of the second chapter, I wanted to take some of the secondary aspects of the game up a notch. Almost all default RPG Maker resources have been replaced, in favor of new materials found from more obscure sites, commissioned, or provided by kind and talented fans.
It took longer to make all this work properly than I expected. Even aside from tweaking so many different choices so they all felt appropriate, RPG Maker has issue with certain formats that are a pain to work with - and unlike many aspects of the engine, I was learning from scratch on most of this.
Regardless, what I have for you now is a new version with a lot of polished new content. Aside from reworked previous sections, you can now complete Ardford, the summit, and the entire second chapter!
Stay tuned for more information next week and have fun. ^-^
Thank you very much for your work Sierra.
ReplyDeleteYour game is one in a kind
Praise Simon, thanks Sierra. 人◕ ‿‿ ◕人
ReplyDeleteThanks Sierra, I appreciate all the hard work!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Sierra!
ReplyDeleteNow, to stop procrastinating on my midterm or play TLS... Decisions, decisions.
Sooooooo Im at the part where I need to investigate stuff with Vhala in the city, but i decided to help the purpled hair ambassador first. She said she didn't want to deal with our politic affair and she said she'll wait for me to return. After I was done helping the ambassador, Vhala didn't rejoin my party and I can't seem to find her anywhere. And I still need her to go inside the Holy Knights building in the church district. Where is she? Or is this a bug or something.
ReplyDeleteWell, I can confirm I'm having the same issue.
DeleteShe is supposed to rejoin your party immediately after the port events, and I don't see any reason why she shouldn't. Did you get some lines of dialogue about her returning, or nothing at all? Also, how many of your quest lines are green? You don't actually have to enter the Holy Knights HQ to advance, it's optional.
DeleteAfter they teleported me back into the navy building, there was no dialogue from her at all. And no, she didn't rejoin my party. The part im stuck in is when i have to talk to three people involving the quest with Vhala, after getting her friend back from the Hole. I talked to one person in the merchant guild and one person in the church, but I can't seem to find the third person. Plus I really want to go to the Holy Knights HQ cause Im pretty sure there was a distortion in there. I really dont want to restart from another save file and do that quest again to help the purple ambassador out, cause those snails are freaking annoying to deal with. especially at that one fight when there's 4 of them.
DeleteOk, I can confirm that this is indeed bugged. For now, the solution is to not do that quest with Vhala in the party, or at least wait until you've finished the information-gathering quest.
DeleteBut if you only have one save (which I don't advise, by the way), then perhaps you should wait for version 0.17.4. I know I can fix the bug, but I think I can do it in such a way that you will get Vhala back just by walking into the Naval Guild. It won't work if you've advanced the plot too far, though.
That sounds awesome! And don't worry, I have like 20+ save files CX

ReplyDeleteWoo! I know what I'm doing after work!
ReplyDeletewhy does pretty much everyone but the dwarves get am embassy? or am i missing somethin?
ReplyDeleteyou are missing something
Deletewhat did i miss? enlighten the noob.
DeleteI believe the dwarves get an embassy if you invested 100,000 pron to the dwarf next to the golden statue, back during the bounty hunter section.
Deletethanks! man sucks i missed it
DeleteI really hope the embassy comes in handy, because it was expensive as balls.
Deletewell after reloading an old save, and rushing my way through. it is indeed useful.
DeleteI am sorry but I am trying to find the dwarf by golden statue and can't find it .. can you give me more directions?
Deleteis the golden status you talking about somewhere else than the royal palace? because I reloaded from start and still can't find that dawrf
DeleteHe's right in front of the little dwarf cave/town that Megail needs to get into to acquire her trading contacts, but still in the desert-y area. Off to the left of the entrance.
DeleteHe may only show up towards the end of the segment, or at least, that's when I noticed him.

Deleteforget what I said , I mistaken the dwarf and now managed to get the embassy
DeleteSo the ambassador that breaks her promise.
ReplyDeleteIf you don't talk to her before the final round of voting, Simon will still say she broke her promise after the vote. Same deal if you keep silent about your goals.
Also, was I supposed to get 100k PRON from the Guild Ambassador? Definitely voted against the alliance. Kind of want to give it to the sanitation wizards.
I did not go to the hidden port because I didn't have the PRON to get the final vote needed anyway.
The Guild ambassador only gives you the ProN if there are enough votes against so that he could vote in favor of the motion while still having it fail.
DeleteThat's right. You can tell whether or not the Guild ambassador will pay you as agreed based on his emotion when he casts the last aye/nay. If he's angry, you didn't get enough votes for his scheme, whereas the musical note means you're due a payment. If you missed talking to him in the council chamber, look him up later and you should still get your payment.
Deletethanks man! love your game a lot :D

ReplyDeletehow many un person leads are there? i went to the retreat, and talked to the steward, talked to all the council people, talked to tyna, talked to knights at the knight place, talked to that one masked dude carina knows, talked t the aramite embassy, talked to both the people in the merchant place. still says look for more leads? am i missing something?
ReplyDeletethats the part where im stuck too ;-;
DeleteYou only need to investigate the three leads that Dari lays out for you explicitly: royal retreat, Aramite embassy, and Merchant's Guild. The rest are optional for more bonuses; you can complete the quest at any time by returning to Vhala's office.
DeleteThere is a list of the new leads in the Quests page of the wiki. The list it was originally provided by decanter in his Affection Guide.
Deletei have one little question the orc stark with only the head are some reference ofsome book ? or something else
ReplyDeleteIt's not a conscious reference or easter egg, anyway, just something I thought was a fun idea.
DeleteI mean, you could probably make a joke out of it. Ned Stark, the Orc, maybe. Okay, not ready for the stage or anything, but not too bad.
DeleteThe hidden port was terrible anoying, probably the worst encounters so far. .__.
ReplyDeleteI really hope we will meet our prince charming blademaster again. I really want to hear more of him, but the person I want really to see more is Tyna. She seems bright, friendly and is damn cute looking. :3
Even with all the harem slots Yarra shows, I fear tey are not enough...
It's my understanding that they are some sort of placeholder... so in theory we could get more than nine harem members in the combat category.
DeleteAnd for those intereted there will be info in the wiki about the Hidden Port (I think that Rafael's walkthrough already included) in the walkthrough page.
That would be nice, even if I have problems to believe it. I think it's already hard enough to give every one enough screen time. :/
DeleteBesides that Tyna doesn't seems to be an fighter, but she would surely helpful to manage the political parts, when the plan evolved further.
I actually liked the port fights because they were the only ones in this game I didn't absolutely breeze trough (save for the scripted defeat ones, obviously).
DeleteThe 4 shell-like monsters encounter near the top pier actually managed to game over over me first time I tried, which ended up forcing me to employ some strategy (double teaming Altina/Robin and using some rings) instead of mindlessly spamming specials after specials like I always used to.
Sierra always said this isn't supposed to be a combat driven game but I for one enjoyed a lot these little increased challenges.
I have to admit.. I'm pissed off that there was no chance to see Dari in our group. I really hoped to browse trough her skills and equipment. For me that's the worst cliffhanger of this update. D:
ReplyDeleteI have some doubts about Dari being a party member (at one point, Vhala says something like: "I know it was a lie, because she is not a fighter.") So I wouldn't be surprised if she has a role like Trin or Megail (possibly focused on detective work of some kind, maybe in relation with the Unpeople).
DeleteDamn I totally forgot that, well then I'm looking forward to see what her talents are.
DeleteShe's not a fighter... but her teeth are strong enough to snap bone, and she totally killed and ate those three hardened criminals.
DeleteIf it looks like a duck...
She did all the things in a tiny prison cell with three potential rapists. I think that can be considered special circumstances... and I don't know if the group will approve of such a wild behavior in the battleground.
DeleteIs it possible with the Dwarven Embassy Investment to vote for New Unpeople, Orc Extermination and War Vaults, with the final motions of FAIL, FAIL and PASS in a single playthrough?
ReplyDeleteBrain can't quite compute this, even with the wiki's help.
I think you can only avert orc extermination or open the war vaults, not both.
DeleteI feel the same way about it because I can't find any means of doing so in theory. Guides don't use the Embassy to begin with.

DeleteIf my pervious post was confusing , I will try to make it easier here
Delete1- your ambassador vote is vital in the orc , to make him support you , you will need to go back to Aka Path , then walk towards your old bedroom , you will find him there , talk to him , accept his challenge to make city poor people better .. then you need to proceed of doing tasks in the city that is better for the city , you can check him regularly ,his replies will changes 2 times if you made the city better .. once that done , the ambassador vote will always support you and he is important in orc one
more info about what is good acts for city is in here
http://thelastsovereign.wikia.com/wiki/Secrets_and_Collectibles#Poverty.5B55.5D
2- Aram , start by talking to him during first day and accept his offer for saying no to war , then in second day, choose "“Unpeople are veterans too" then in third , he will ask for beer , go and talk to him in military section and he will fully support you in all votes
3- Zirantia, DON"T make deal with him.. instead in second day choose choose “We'll do our best” then “Yhilin may not agree to support Zirantians... he will help you in important votes
4- bribe Merchant Guilds guy whenever needed and in last day , you need to Clear the hidden port of monsters to gain his vote
5- dwarf vote is needed in the vault.. don't use it in orc as if you followed what I said you won't need to waste it there because his vote is critical for the vault .. you may use it in unpeople but it really not needed
6- Ghenalon vote in the third day is important so go to embassy building and talk to him and accept his offer and pay and do what needed
7- don't do anything regarding day 2 alliance.. it will pass by itself and in don't do anything regarding day 3 alliance , it will fail by itself
this is what I did and I managed to make unpeople fail , vault pass and orc fails
I'll give it a go when I can, much appreciated!
DeleteAlternatively (and somewhat counterintuitively), agree with Darghelon to vote yes on Unpeople mobilization, and follow through with it. Yes, this means you'll have to bribe the Guild ambassador 10,000 ProN to ensure the vote fails.
DeleteHowever, doing so means Darghelon will fully support you in Day 3, saving you ProN overall.
Without her support, you will have to either bribe the Guild ambassador a whopping 100,000 ProN or pay 120,000 ProN for the Ghenalon-Yhilin program in order to get the results you want (though doing the latter does give you minor hidden score increases.)
that is indeed interesting and save Prons but I don't know if it affect your relationship with Sarai as she requested that you stop that motion which you do in your idea but voting yes affect the RP or not? that is question for the future I guess
DeleteIf you check Decanter's Affection Guide, you will see that there are no troubles with Sarai in that aspect. Simon's actions in Ardford only affects those which are also there and, in the case of the Orc vote, Balia.
Deleteyou are correct , I saved the prons for the second bribe and got his reward of the prons but I still used the 120k prons because it give high score increase as Sj said.. thanks Sj for pointing that out

ReplyDeleteSo I transferred a previous save where I got the previous two threesomes and in this version I got the other two threesome scenes but I didn't get the final orgy even when I completed the chapter so did I miss anything to trigger the final orgy ?
ReplyDeleteI must be missing something about the port fights, right? I mean, I either take a mage and she gets her mana drained on the first turn, or I take all melee guys who kill the bastard-moths but then can't crack the shell enemies in 40 turns of trying.
ReplyDeleteAt the moment, I'm considering bringing Robin to the fight dead until the moth dies, then rezzing her to kill the clam. Every time. It's less frustrating than anything else I've tried.
Deletewhat levels of the team you do? It may be strange and bad strategy of my end but I acutally bring robin , atalina and carina together with best armor and equipment I can .. it may sound stupid to bring 2 caster but they make shrot work with the monsters weakness to certain elements so I did it .. my steps was to continuously use support slaves, use carina to mass heal if needed or heal and shield and then use robin and atalina to focus in the moth one with fire then with the squid with ice then the shell one with lighting but I also made sure everyone has barrier item or other pins that help nullify the paralyze and silent..etc which also support slave help them .. I also stackd large health potions before that one.. it may be strange but I pulled it off that way.. also atlaina heal is really good as well .. hope that helped
DeleteMy Team: Simon, Aka, Robin, Yarra
DeleteAka should use her Forceful Lunge and Simon his Precise Strike to kill the moths as fast as possible. Robin with no mana is useful, because the moths still often tries to eat her mana. When the moths are dead, Yarra can restore some of Robins mana and her lust attacks are a bit more useful against the shells then normal melee attacks and even more she is very good against the last enemy you encounter there.
Don't forget the pins. I forgot who got which one, but Aka was immune against everything. Simon against the most. (Because Aka does more damage against the moths)
For the shell only fight, I took Altina for Aka and Carrina for Yarra with me. That should be the first fight you do.
Hopefully that helps you a bit.
Did Altina's Lightning Storm work for you on the quadruple clam fight? I got the Weakpoint comment, but then Blocked. Considering my Altina had only 1 point of MAG less than Robin, I just assumed it was Sierra playing dirty pool.
DeleteNo done nothing, so I switched to lightning. I think tats still better then that what the others can do.
DeleteI suspect that I'm a bit late, but here is the wiki walkthrough for that dungeon. Relevant points: Suggested party for most fights: Simon, Robin, Yarra and Nalili (these last two because the draining effect of the moth don't affect them, also both equipped with buttplugs). Equip Simon with the Givini Pin Robin with the Barrier one, Yarra with the Duelist one and poor Nalili with just a Slave one. Target always first the Moths (they are vulnerable to fire). As opposed to others I recommend to do the 4 Snails fight last because it's the most difficult one. For that one, I took Altina for Yarra and Qum for Nalili. Altina should use the fire spell (it's better to eliminate them one by one as every of them deals a lot of damage). Keep Simon using Support and Qum using Arousing Aura (except if she has to avoid the death of Roni or Altina) to compensate the penalization of ATK and MAG.
DeleteAppreciated anyway, but I never could win that last fight with Aka, so no Duelist pin for me. Having two of my four-man party constantly wrapped up in tentacles was rough, let me tell you.

Deleteanyone knew what can be done with the merchant who want to sell his store yet the party don't wish it? the secret sector in wiki says maybe someone else want it but I can't find any
ReplyDeleteI'm the author of that paragraph. I haven't found any potential buyer (I had some hopes with the rich Givini merchant, but no such luck). I think it's a similar event to the random fight in the unnamed bar in Stineford's slums. Just something to show us that not everything that happens has a direct connection with Simon and his group.
DeleteThank you for your replay and your wiki contribution.. I agree that this is the most possible speculation however maybe its something for the future like the mines rights who we couldn't buy and then found out later that its bought by vital party in the story
DeleteThe data file for that map (229) appears not to show any additional dialogue suggesting that the store can be bought. That said, I didn't go looking through every map file either
DeleteJust dropping in to give official confirmation that you can't do anything with it at this time.
DeleteI really like the new music. I hope you're able to work out the looping issues with it so it blends smoothly.
ReplyDeleteAs for the models... I'm really happy you changed the name of Orc Shield to Orc Defender, was confused why the new Shield model didn't actually have a shield. The new lamia I'm less sold on. I probably have an attachment to the old D&D Mariliths, since that was one of the few entries in the monster manual with any sort of mature look. Lamia2 is a little better than Lamia1 in the current files IMO. Still like the original, but I could definitely like Lamia2.
I have similar thoughts to you, but I really don't want a commonly-used RTP battler so early in the game and I didn't find anything better. If I ever find a better one with the proper mix of sex and menace, I'll definitely replace it.
DeleteBut yeah, the Lamia2 variant is badass. It'll definitely get used in time.
Given the extended development time of this release, will the release date version 18.0 be affected? Additionally, will the extended development time of Noxian Nights version 1.0 also affect it?
ReplyDeleteApologies, I meant Last Sovereign version 0.18.0 & Noxian Nights version 1.0.0 respectively
DeleteI can't really start working on the next version until the previous one is done, so you can typically project the next release date as being roughly a month from the previous release. The extended dev time on NN 1.0.0 should not impact this release, since we're doing the same amount of work, just released in a larger chunk. If anything, it would have a positive impact, as releasing is a time-consuming process.
DeleteHowever, I will be changing pace for this month. Expect a full announcement regarding this when I release 0.17.4, which will probably be later today.
Hello, I'm not sure if I can put this in here so sorry if I cant... By the way the game is awesome, keep it up...
ReplyDeletewhile I'm playing the aka mission I am stuck after doing everything, the only thing I'm unable to do is the "Uncle in the throne room" quest (Which I'm guessing this would complete the mission?), I've used all of Trins copies already so I'm wondering if that could be the problem!.. I hope there's a way to resolve this as I don't have any previous saves available :-(
Thank you in advance
You don't need to do that quest. Once you solve the problems with house jade and the mine I think, you can talk with Janine and she will ask if you are done with your preparations. Do so, and the Aka route will be complete.
DeleteThe only way to solve the problems with her uncle is via Trin and her clones. If you have an earlier save it can be worth.
I've done the mine quest, been to house jade and done that I think (I've only got "aka's condition" quest open at the moment, all others are complete), now when I go to Janine she says something along the lines of "you've done so much for me, aka, take care of yourself" so I don't know where to go from here. thanks
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
Deleteclearly you haven't done the "cure aka" quest...right? when you first time talk to janine, she tells you that next to her is an entrance underground where robin is...you need to talk to robin to start the "cure aka" quest, only after you finish that quest, are you allowed to move to the next part of the game...the entrance is the pillar in the top right corner of the room with janine btw...also, you can do the fighting quest after you do this one, if you want to that is
Deleteim not sure i have finished it either, thinking about it. i need to do the " research in speciality library", i must be missing something?
Deleteyea u clearly are...like seriously dude, get good! figure it out yourself perhaps? if u cant, use http://thelastsovereign.wikia.com/wiki/Walkthrough_2_-_Aka's_Path
Deletethere are spoilers there ofc...but like this game isnt all that hard, u just need to read and walk through the maps, not just skip to the points u think are important...there are 3 libraries, u clearly havent searched through them all...but like the walkthroughs are easy to find, if u cant be bothered to find a fucking walkthrough and cant be bothered to like walk through the maps (thats literally all there is to it, walk through the maps, talk to people), i think no one can really help u
