*Requires RPG Maker VX Ace RTP to be installed. If you don't know what that means, use the first link.

Version 0.11.0
 - Completed Megail's route.
 - Two new plot sex scenes.
 - Some edits and new systems (see notes).
Version 0.11.1
 - Cleared up several bugs that led to potential dead ends.
 - The usual polishing, graphical bugs, and typos.

BUG NOTICE: I accidentally left a testing feature in the route splitting area (it looks like Aka). If you talk to her, you'll leap mid-chapter, which will definitely screw things up. So just ignore it until I put out a version with this removed and it will be fine.
EDIT: Newest version has it removed, no other changes.

Many thanks to my backers, who caught some bugs that could have been annoyances. There may be a non-bug issue or two (for example, bounties aren't in the quest log), but since this one is stable and I'm stretched thin, I'll try to resolve those with the next version.

I'm going to focus on finishing the Noxus Nights update and getting properly moved in, then I'll get started on the next route. The vote was pretty strongly for Aka next, so you'll get to see Aka and the mages explore more of Ari-Yhilina next time. ^-^

  1. Very nice! But i'm a bit stuck (may be a bug): I can't seem to invest on the camels even if i have more than 20,000 Sx. I've also completed the Means of Production quest log (i've closed the deal w/ Strevin). Is there anything i could be missing? Thanks!

    1. The camel supplier wants 20,000 ProN (the 20,000 Sx investment is a different one). That's optional - Strevin's deal, however, is not. When you close the deal, that should end the section of the game as well, so if that's not happening, give me some more information about your situation and I'll look into it.

    2. - Wait a minute... the camel supplier wants ProN??? I swear he (and Megail) mention Sx, not ProN...

      - I did complete all the requirements to close Strevin's deal. Additionally, in previous sections, i invested in the Premium Steel in Yhilin (Not the Mine Processing, though) - would that affect anything?

      - Also, after the Dwarren investments, i fought a Boss at the Dwarren Place, then was transported back at the Route Selection, then talked to the Aka figure, was transported back near the shrine (this time where there's a Dwarf)... and that's where i got stuck.

Anyway, i've decided to start from scratch (maybe make a few changes in investments)... out of curiosity though, would it be more economical (Cheaper) to invest in Premium Steel, or wait till the Dwarren Place and invest there?

    3. 1) You're right, this is my mistake. But generally speaking, investments cost ProN, never Sx.

2/3) Ah, the issue is talking to Aka - that's a debug feature that should have been removed from the game. Once you get back to the route selection screen, you're done. Please don't save after that. X|

      4) Not all investments are equal, but I tried to keep them interestingly balanced. Eventually you're going to need more than one weapons manufacturer, so it's up to you if you want to invest in them earlier or later.

    4. Thanks for the quick reply! One last question... If i'm not mistaken, in Megail's route, you should be able to go back to Yhilin (is that right? I'm not quite sure) at what point should that be possible?

      Delete
    5. Sorry to say that Megail can't return to Yhilin after the dialogue about having traveled a long way. She won't go back until after the routes converge, so conclude business there before you depart.

    6. Ah, thanks for the confirmation! It's a good thing i decided to play through the whole thing again :)

I just finished all the way to the end of Megail's route, and all i can say is this: WOW!

That was undoubtedly well done! I especially liked the Economic aspect of Megail's route. Congratulations! Can't wait for Aka & Yarra's routes to be completed as well.

    7. Would you happen to have an ETA, for the next release(s)? Can't wait to see what you come up with for the next routes :)

      Keep it up!

    8. No estimated about it anymore: the next version is coming out for backers this weekend, October 9 for everyone. ^-^

  2. Very nice. Glad to hear Aka gets more limelight next update (she was my favorite party member). I'm going to hold off a bit longer from downloading the game so there's more content later, but I want to say thank you for making this fun game.

    1. Thank you and you're welcome!

FYI, v11-13 will be routes you can play in any order, v14 will be the last route with Simon, and v15 on will be unified sections. So if you like to play larger chunks, maybe one of those will strike your fancy.

  3. Hey there, here's a little feedback on the game.

After Post Devil's pass and before Chapter 2 the game just feels rather 'empty'. I suppose that's part of it being a work in progress but I'd like more background details and personality like we saw before that point.

One thing that I have trouble with is forgetting to save for too long and ending up losing lots of progress. If I'm not the only one maybe we could have an optional 'nag dialog' 10 or 15 minutes since the most recent save? Simon: "I get the feeling I'm forgetting something important" ;)

    1. Hello, thanks for giving feedback!

      1) What are some of the elements you liked in the beginning or Stineford that you feel are lacking in later sections?

      2) You're not the only one, but I'm afraid there's a much larger group that really hates save prompts, sorry.

    2. 2. Maybe as an ini option with default set to off?

      1. Well, there's the pubs and the brothel for a start. If there was a day time / night time divide in the city with different minor NPCs around and pub night life that would be nice. There are more different areas to the city, but the areas tend to have less in them. You could have a few more shops, with a few random NPCs in the shops. There is a whole big thing about the factions and the tensions between them but that is barely reflected by the NPCs you see out on the streets. If you do have a day / night time divide then you could have some roaming faction members, maybe a few minor encounters (fights), maybe walk into a shop while it's being shaken down for 'protection' or 'support for the cause'? A big plot point is that you are under an illusion to prevent you being bounty hunted, but that wasn't followed up on much. There could be a few places where you would have to avoid being spotted (possibly being warned by a companion).

One or two minor optional areas with combat during the initial investment stage at the city might liven things up a bit.

Hope you find some of the above interesting and / or useful. :)

    3. Lunasmeow (Patreon) here: Gotta say that I agree now that this is mentioned. The characters say to watch out for the mages as they might "pierce" the disguise, but you don't meet a single mage except the one in the bank dealing with the wards.

It would *definitely* be interesting to see these "different factions" in power, maybe guards wearing different uniforms and such in different areas? Hopefully we'll get to see more of this city rather than just the initial four (five?) areas of it we see now.

I do seem to recall seeing two people disagreeing about politics in the area with the inn, but that was it. With tensions high enough for a coup to take place, maybe some riots or protests or something to see would be nice?

      Delete
    4. Hey, not going to talk back to reasonable criticism, but for the record I should say that I intended all the guys with the green outfit (with the matching cap) to be mages. Not that those are the ONLY mages, but it's the standard Yhilini uniform for mages working in an official capacity.

      Delete
    5. Part of that I'm assuming was due to being transported all around the city. Now that we don't have to hide, as we are actually co-conspirators with her majesty rather than wanted men and women, I'm hoping to see more sections of the city open up to explore.

      Delete
  4. So the section ends after the Boss fight at the Dwarren place right? Because it doesn't really state that and if you talk to "Aka" you can find a Dwarf at the shrine. Is that supposed to be for later?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. It does end there, yes. The extra Aka is a debug feature I should have removed - using it and then saving will screw up your game. The dwarf at the shrine can be found before the section ends.

      Delete
    2. Yeah I just found out that you can backtrack from the Dwarf city...

    1. Sounds like you're running into the debug tool mentioned above. I'll copy the relevant part:

    2. yes, thats what happened, i just restarted the game following the route and it works, if you talk to aka right away, you start the game with the last guys that were in your party (in my case simon and aka)

  8. I'm having trouble with the Noble Figurines quest. I'm at the Unmen mansion now, and I've searched everywhere. I've found the following:

Shining Sword x2, Steel Claw, Leather Armor x2, Dwarven Armor, and 500sx from the small box on the counter in the bedroom next to Meg's.

Everyone in the dungeon is now defeated, except the boss, and the completionist in me doesn't want to proceed if there'll be a sidequest left unfinished. Could someone just tell me where that Noble Figurine is, exactly?

    1. Hate to tell you this, but I'm afraid the figurines are gone permanently unless you reload an earlier save. They appear (or don't) in the box beside Megail's room based on your performance avoiding the Unmen and Unwomen.

      Delete
    2. Arrrg, is that the trigger! I do have an earlier save, but I thought to go back that far. I had a save right before Meg's room and I kept going back to that one, but that was after repeated trial and error trying to find the correct pathing. In never occured to me that the contents of the box would change...

Well, I've come this far, I'll just re-do the dungeon I suppose. ^^

      Delete
    3. Speaking of treasure that changes, I found TWO shining swords in the mansion, and most of the guides I've seen only mention the one in here. I know I missed the one in the prologue, so this second one does it only appear if you miss the prologue sword, or is there secretly NINE Shining Swords as of this patch, rather than eight? :)

      Delete
    4. Congratulations, you're the first person to find it! It's actually been there from the beginning - I was hoping it would remain a secret longer, but I guess it was too much to hope I could escape the internet's eye more than a few months. XD

      Delete
    5. Correction:

Saying he is the first person to find it is probably wrong, rather he would be the first person to write it down somewhere you saw it.
      Gotta love being pedantic ^_^.

      You're evil! *LOL*

      Hey ChiPsiUp:

That is a great catch. I had added to the wiki (and give you the credit for it). Thanks!

      Delete
    7. Nice to see from that wiki that I have done everything except for 3 of those shining swords.

      Delete
    8. Ahh, the info in the wiki isn't quite right, it's not in the chest, it's somewhere else on the map. I wonder if I should just say where...

      Delete
    9. Well it's up to you ;-) . Some unidentified person has deleted the credit to your post (that kind of thing really pisses me off) and had made a bit of mess. Personally, I'd love to know the location. *puppy eyes*

      Delete
    10. Ah, that was me. It felt silly to be credit for finding the secret when nothing else on the page was.

Alright, it's in the room on the bottom left of the mansion, same area as the two chests. The sword is NOT in a chest, and I'll say no more. :>

      Delete
    11. But it doesn't say it's in the chest in the wiki though. Infact, it mentions its location twice on that page.

      Delete
    12. Ah, that was me. It felt silly to be credit for finding the secret when nothing else on the page was.

Well most of the info in the wiki is directly extracted from the game by the writers, but there are some exceptions. For instance the info of the section Relationship Points and Affection Titles is based on the Guide Affection by Decanter. So far the bigger outside contributions appear here. I don't remember exactly if I had made other mentions elsewhere, but I think so.

    13. Question: Is there any point to gathering the Shining Swords and such? The equipment of these heroes of the Goddess? Or is it just a joke?

      Delete
    14. So, I shouldn't have sold the extras as "junk" equipment? Nooooo! Now I have to start again! Or cheat. I only kept one of each! Figured it was a joke about how many people he'd trained.

      Delete
    15. Also, since people are so proud of finding more of them, is there some kind of reward for whoever finds them all first? Because I wasn't really looking for them, or keeping track of where I found them.

      Delete
  10. Enjoyed this section quite a bit and I don't feel I have any real criticisms for it. Seems like quite a bit of things here are optional too. As a form of clarification, is it possible to complete the Forged Paper and Sandscourge bounties in Megail's route?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Nope. Some bounties are just there for worldbuilding. ^^

  12. Bug:

The "Eustrin Supplier" Investment appeared in the Ledger at the very beginning of the Route.
Assuming that this is actually intended, there is a another bug where investing in the (assumed other) "Eustrin Supplier" for 40000 doesn't add him to the Ledger.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Dang, screwed this up again. There are two possible suppliers, but they shouldn't be connected to the same ledger entry.

  13. Also, the "Get the game here!"-link still links to the older version.

  14. Minor suggestion: When you return to the fortress on the Withered Mountains... I was kind of hoping Simon would have a line of dialogue when you click on the window he jumped out of in the prologue. :>

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I totally planned to, but apparently I didn't get back to it. XD There will be a little dialogue next version!

  15. Just want to say that it would be interesting if you included a bit more about after that figurene quest it does imply that that noble was turning people who were enemies or inconviences into unmen and unwomen so with that you could also use it as evidance or to provide evidence to implicate him amongst the other factions and thus forcing every faction to turn against that house.

You could use some kind of investment reward for that which could be pretty useful in some cases.

I mean it would be obvious to me that once we found that their making Unmen secretly without any of the other factions knowledge and likely from members of the other different factions it would prove that that guy is likely planning to use the other faction against themselves while they weaken enough so the unmen army he's obviously building can then swoop in and eliminate all other's who are vieing for the thrown invludeing every other faction.

    1. She will appear in the next update but I don't think that wee will see her again until the the last part of Simon's path. I'm more worried about Riala... I don't think that we will learn anything about her meeting with the Incubus King until Yarra's route or even Simon's.

    1. One of them is gained by defeating the magekillers, the other one I've missed myself (though i suspect it might be dependent on a dominated Varia).

    1. I don't add new xp or money to old sections, so that current players can keep their saves, but I'm always trying to improve the quality of every part of the game, so you will find changes from time to time.

As for Robin: if you look at the forum threads for this game, you'll see "pseudo-incest" among the fetishes, so... ^-^

  21. This was from an old save for the previous version, but when I went to the mansion to get altina, I couldn't get her because I fought some orcs and succubi beforehand and when I got to the letter, I was teleported out. Was that an event thing where if you don't go to the castle first, you get kicked out after getting the letter?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Huh, that's odd. Well, one thing I can say is that the letter doesn't have any intentional teleportation, but I'm puzzled about what happened to you. What was the exact sequence of events?

      Delete
    2. Well, it could be just something of a memory gap and my memories jumbled up, but from what I remember happened: I went inside the castle, fought the orc and succubi on the first floor. I didn't know about the 3 succubi on the top left so I just went on to the room. After I read the letter, something happened like the place was collapsing or something along those lines and so simon was teleported out with the black hole portal and then went back to the map. I didn't try going back cause I was already at the fort for the war and didn't have an extra save.

  22. Just downloaded this, and the game is GREAT. I really like the balance you've found with the story: It keeps you on tight rails early, so it feels like a nice breath of air when you've got a bit more freedom to explore and see different places. It reminds me of FF6 in many ways, especially with the different path section that you've reached.

I also like that there's actual choices with consequences, like the investments, or in getting more ProN from Megail early. It's gotta be hard to figure out ways to make choices really matter and actually programming in those aspects. I hope that you continue to love what you're doing and going back to tweak things. If anything, I'd love to have more options to play with. Perhaps you'd consider adding the possibility of dominating Megail and Janine earlier? It would be nice to let the players exert a little more control, but the consequence could be that you'll fail to get Carina and Sarai later. But that's gotta be a pain to program even more branching in the story. Stilly, you've written such a rich and textured world that it makes me want to try to play around with possibilities! :-)

    1. Glad to hear from you, and thanks for the kind words!

You're right that I won't be opening up player choices that far - dominating Megail or Janine early could cascade into massive plot changes. But I will be doing my utmost to follow through on all the choices that you can make so they feel like they have real consequences. ^-^

  25. I found a possible bug. In chapter 1, I invested in the mine, anti-corruption, bridge repair, and NOT the bank. At the start of Megail's path, I was able to collect 10,000 pron from the bank.

Just in case it matters, I also invested in city beautification and the Iron Cudgel.

    6. The guy's a fantastic artist, isn't he? I've only seen the basics (nothing about the plot) but I'm looking forward to playing his game. And while it'd probably be fun to collaborate with him, creative types tend to have plenty of ideas of their own and we all only have so much time... XD

  26. Carina's new scene is adorable. 'What's perverse... ropes? For like, tying up? I guess? Somebody help, I can't perverted right!'

Also, I'm really feeling the pinch from not upgrading Varia's equipment back in Yhilin (I'm more of an Aka person). Fingers crossed that there's an equipment merchant in Aram proper.

    1. Re:Carina: ^-^

On equipment, things won't go quite that way, but don't worry, you'll get a chance to buy equipment before you have to use Varia again. I want to give all characters a time to shine, but for most of the game you'll get to choose your party.

    1. Glad to have you following the game!

I would love to have pictures for the scenes, of course. But I don't have enough artistic talent of my own and it's difficult to find artists who can consistently produce images of a quality that matches the rest of the game. I'm still looking, though. So I'm going to keep making the best game I can and hope it gains enough attention that it's easier to find a professional artist.

    2. That's great to hear haha, would it be viable to have an artist draw the portraits for the characters also? That way the scenes drew by the artist would definitely match XD

    3. You mean to get all custom art for all the characters? While I'd love to have it, that would become super expensive very quickly. Whatever I do, I hope to keep the character art consistent, since that's pretty important to me.
