    1. Version 0.11.0, of course, route decided by Patreon vote. But actually, expect a brand new announcement next weekend!

  2. Wait! Why is Altina here? I just noticed her in that weird castle thing? Am I seeing things?

    1. If she appears without rescuing her or before the party makes camp, it may be a bug. Otherwise, take a look around and you'll find everyone else too.

    3. Just made another post completely since the other one was missing something.

I've recently started playing this and thought I'd add this little bug: If you go save Altina, but don't make the final choice of how you want her to be, then leave to do the Varia events, the game treats it as if you have Altina in the party, even though she's not actually there (and then take you to the camp and skip you forwards with her in the conversation, even though she's not there).

The Carina sex scene also has a repeat in lines. Thought I'd mention it as well.

  3. Has anyone started to make a walkthrough or wiki page for this game?

    1. You don't need a walkthough. It's pretty simple to know what to do.

      Delete
    2. The only walkthrough I know of is for maximizing affection. There's active decision about where to make a wiki, but no decisions made yet.

      Delete
    3. Really, a walkthrough isn't necessary for most of the game as of yet. An affection guide wouldn't be a bad idea to start. Also a guide to explain the various investment routes at some point. The problem with the investment guide is that Sierra still has a long ways to go with the game and most investment paths are still ongoing.

    4. If you are curious and don't mind the spoilers you could find the affection's guide here:

      http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=2wvimPDd

It has been compiled by Decanter, one of Sierra's collaborators and it has spoilers until version 0.9.x.

will we still be able to invest in the shrine and the rest of yilin investments after the fight?
there's an empty square next to orcent at the last screen: am i missing a character or something?

I would to know the answer for this one

    3. I'll copy my response from the forum, but your question is #3:

      "Thanks! Answering issues in order:
      1) >.< Will be fixed next time around.
      2) You'll have another chance to invest during Megail's route.
      3) The only character you could be missing is Varia. Not every route has a full party."

  6. Hey, thanks for the new release ! I have some issues though: when I run into the first monster in that abandoned forteress, the game crashes with the following message:

Script 'Lone Wolf: Anemy AI' line 97: Errno::ENXIO occured
No such device or address -

I'm running the game with Wine which might be the cause of some problems, but I ran into 0 issues with this game before. Could this be a bug ?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Uh... I'm not sure. That is not an error message quite like anything I've seen before, and the script reference doesn't look familiar to me. I thought Wine usually ran RPG Maker games without any problems, so I hope that's not the issue.

      Delete
    2. Actually, it seems I have the issue with any combat (I tried several save files). I'll try on Windows see if that fixes anything, otherwise i'll try starting a new game see if that resolves my issue. It's a fun game anyway :D

      Delete
    3. Good news ! It's an easy fix. So restarting a new game works and launching on Windows works. I simply re-saved all my games on Windows, and voila!, works with Wine again.

Something I noticed: This version of the game produces some output on the console when a combat starts: stuff like "[0], [0, 0]". I wonder if it's related to my issue as the error message mentioned stdout.

Anyway, keep up the good work ! I'll be conquering the world with my army of succubi.

      Delete
    4. Well, I'm glad to hear there was an easy solution! Some of the battles this update use a trickier mechanic (and thus run events during combat), so maybe that's the issue...

  7. There's a bug in the Yanfly Battle Engine script (more like a typo) that causes the strange characters to appear with buff and debuff effects.
Should be line 312 and 313 of the script.

    Find this under popup settings:
    :add_buff => “%s{“, # Appears when a positive buff is applied.
    :add_debuff => “%s|”, # Appears when a negative buff is applied.

    and change it to this:
    :add_buff => “%s+”, # Appears when a positive buff is applied.
    :add_debuff => “%s-“, # Appears when a negative buff is applied.

    1. Thanks for such a clear bug report! I've been wondering what caused those... unfortunately, changing those lines only removes half the extra characters. There are still odd little boxes after the buffed stat - anyone have an idea what causes those?

    2. There's a Japanese character in the script that doesn't show up in the English editor. They should be just to the left of the close quotes on each line.

  8. I think you might consider buffing Hilstara's agility. I realize she's supposed to be a tanky character but even at level 26 she misses about half, possibly three quarters of her attacks against the creatures in the crypt.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Agility doesn't have an effect on accuracy, actually. Is your Hilstara equipped with a decent (Steel+) axe? That would be the major difference between her and other characters.

      Delete
    2. She has a steel axe, yes. In that case I don't understand why she's missing so often. She could hit the gargoyles, orcs and slimes reliably but only hit the snakes about half the time and the monsters in the crypt almost never.

      Delete
    3. Hmm, I don't think the difference should be too much, and the Steel Axe shouldn't be all that inaccurate. I'll look into the balance of this again.

  9. I can't figure out how to do the noble figurines quest. I don't have any idea where I should be going and I've been looking all around the city. I'd appreciate if someone could help me with this.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I don't know if you want a hint or a direct answer, so for now: you can't complete this quest until you advance the plot. The figurines are found in an upcoming dungeon.

  10. Okay, this helps me a lot, thank you. On a side note, I noticed that the ledger shows up in battle in the item screen. Is this supposed to happen?

    1. It should only be accessible from the menu - good catch.

  11. Hi Sierra, great game thus far :D a couple of things though:

    1. In Stineford, at the Slaver Warehouse, there's a specific bandit there that you have the option of killing or sparing... in either option, Yarra (i think it's usually her) mentions a key. In the same area, just above, there's a locked cell with a chest. Can that actually be opened? I can't seem to open it either way (Simon keeps mentioning something about an unusual lock)

    2. Every version/release endpoint scene... if you save in that scene, what would happen once the next release comes out? Do we have to start from scratch or will it continue from there? If we end up having to start from scratch, wouldn't it just be easier of the Save function was disabled at those points (maybe replace it with a fade out scene that launches the menu, where the player can save his progress)

Sorry if this was long... again, LOVE THE GAME SO FAR! :D

    1. Thanks, glad you enjoy the game!

      1) The solution requires keeping the bandit alive, then backtracking across the warehouse after finding the second lock.

      2) If you save at the endpoint screen, when you reload that save, you'll be sent along to the next scene, as if you had just finished the previous version. ^-^

    2. Thanks for the response :) on the 1st point... i decided to start from scratch anyway, hehe. At that point in Stineford, i kept him alive and was able to get to the chest. My little annoyance though is that i couldn't seem to get to the 2 swords behind him (would have been nice to sell those). I ended up getting a Slave Pin from the chest (are the chests' contents random, BTW, or are the contents of each already set?)

On the 2nd point, that's definitely good to know. Thanks for the information :D

      Delete
    3. You CAN get the swords if you kill him, so it's a bit of a tradeoff. I'm fond of those, as you've probably noticed.

There are no random chests in the game so far.

      Delete
    4. The real question is, which one is worth more? If you get the swords, meh... there are plenty of those. The item in the chest though...

If you don't need either, it's just a matter of which sells for more money. So, not a trade off really.

      Delete
    5. That's definitely the question... getting access to the chest (considering that there seems to be no randomness to them [yet]) got me a Slave Pin earlier a bit earlier than i would have gotten otherwise, but getting the swords allows me to sell them for more Sx, which i can use for either equipment upgrade or additional potions (both of which may give me lower chance of defeat in battles), so, personally - still a tradeoff there, just not much...

On another note, Sierra, if you don't mind, when would the expected release of the next version of TLS be?

      Delete
    6. It should definitely be next weekend (August 21-23). I nearly had it ready in time for this weekend, but had to push the date back to get things more stable.

  12. Erm the storyline kinda rush is not it? I thought you gonna do plotline to meet the people on prologue. Not gonna complain cause this most of the patron vote it. At the end of new scene, why simon say our master and yarra said too our master? And who the grey guy at end. Is he ancient lust lord. Kinda lost on it sorry. I just continue on my previous save, so not sure either you change the char model or not. Still i enjoy your game.

    1. I'll do my best to answer:
      - Simon and Yarra are lying in order to disguise the fact that Simon has the soul fragment.
      - Read the dialogue around Qum's line if you want it exactly, but the new grey character is another Incubus King who has taken the name of a god.
      - No character models have been significantly changed recently. The end of this section introduced two new characters.

  13. Odd, tried to comment few times didn't show.

I love the game, having lived trough the golden snes era of rpg's I can say this is one of the most interesting stories I have seen so far. Exellent work !

Also you did what I considered to be impossible for rpg maker game, you actually made debuff and buff abilities useful, I usually ignore them completely but in TLS I use them constantly, they hit often and have real impact on the battles.

Definately going to drop the name every time I see discussion about more mature orientated rpg's that aren't just pure pictorial sex mess.

    Now bit of feedback.

    - Sx to pron conversion would be handy, sitting at 50k sx near the split wishing I could go and invest it :(

    - Altina's aoe spells are bit strong, if you combine her with Hillstara, you get an invulnerable team that two shots every non boss encounter. Not that I mind bit easy time to time but when buying mana pots and just using aoe nuke comes a strategy it might be a bit bad thing.

    - I hoped bit more exploration on the pass in c2, it felt slightly too much on rails, you intend to add some more adventure spots there ?

Thanks for making this game, it's great =)

    1. Doh' forgot to add this.

      - The merchant camp that is infested with slimes seems bit pointless at this stage, do you have continency plan for it in future ? for example merchants owe you favour you get discount there or it is used otherwise in the economy campaing?

      - Also about combat balance, I mentioned this bit but : Combat is fairly ok in challenge until you get Altina. Then it becomes easy.

    2. Thanks! Always great to hear from people who appreciate what I'm going for with this game!

      Responses to feedback:

      1) Sx -> ProN is not happening for balance reasons. There's new lore and events coming to help justify this. Basically, I want people to be able to spend on equipment without guilt.

      2) I'll keep thinking about balance, but FYI, the AoE spells are probably getting nerfed next version.

      3) I do sometimes add things to old sections, but I'm pretty busy with the current chapter at the moment. I'd really like to get it out before I move, which might prevent too much work on old sections.

      4) The slime infestation was added in response to fans who wanted a way to grind for items. Any time you see Obnoxious Slimes, they will serve this purpose and only this purpose.

  14. The mega doesn't work for me at all
Please, can anyone upload the game on some kind of other filesharing?

    1. If Mega doesn't work, you can always check to see if the BKG mirror is updated:

(It's sometimes late, but by now it's obviously up.)

  16. Loved the new update. Can't wait to find out more about the two new characters, although I assume that will take a while because of the various routes that will follow and stuff.

    1. Glad you liked it! You're right that it could take a while - for example, Megail's route (coming soon) will have little information about them. But if people vote to do Yarra's route, you'll definitely find out more.
