NOTICE: If you are importing a save from the version 0.20.x waiting room, do not skip straight to this version! Improvements in between versions will make this not work. In order to keep your save valid, first use the version linked below, advance and save, then continue to the newest version:
Version 0.21.2: https://mega.nz/#!L9tgGC7L!qcZfgWnrvu5lU8ruuITpZM34LeBuJDvBwUtAG41xrpA
Version 0.22.0
- New iteration of Ari-Yhilina! New quests and conversations, plus new chances to access content that was blocked for your save before this point.
- Three new sex scenes.
- Reworked system for Robin's research. Nothing has changed for old saves, but it'll be better for managing the expanded choices you might be getting soon.
- Multiple sidequests weren't being marked finished or failed at the appropriate times; I believe I have this mostly straightened out. The quest journal in new saves should be clean.
- Full screen mode now available! Press F5 to try it out.
- Due to popular demand, there is now an event in the waiting room that will let you check everyone's relationship points.
- Due to popular demand, there is now an event in the waiting room that will let you check everyone's relationship points.
Version 0.22.4:
- Bugfixes and polishing
- Clarification of various investments
- Minor affection changes
Public release, here we go! This release includes both the unique events for this visit to Yhilin as well as a whole bunch of content that your save may or may not have unlocked which covers the entire chapter. This should speed up the updates for all future trips to Yhilin!
I will be working through the holiday season on the next version of TLS. So happy holidays, everyone, see you in 2017! ^-^
Woooo! Thanks for the update Sierra and happy holidays.
ReplyDeleteGreat update! Can't wait to see more of our investments and fund-allocations panning out.
ReplyDeleteAlso I think one of my favorite things about this game are the Chosen. Every time one of them shows up I just get a stupid grin watching the characters deal with their idiocy.
Yup, they're fun to write! I hope you found Ralke... the scene between him and the Chosen this section pretty much wrote itself. XD
DeleteWhat a nice early Christimas present. If I had a steady job I would definitely pay for the new Ouroboros game and maybe paetron for this game, but as I'm unemployed all I can offer is my word of thanks and support.
ReplyDeleteGlad to have you supporting my work!
DeleteYay~ finally out was waiting on it all day
ReplyDeletegreat stuff!
ReplyDeleteIs Order of Thaumaturgy exam completed? I've finished first two tests in previous visit, now I completed two fights but still cannot access entrance in the middle, Robin says "I need to complete the other four trials" despite they are finished already.
The way I split this over multiple updates ended with it being unclear, sorry. In order to truly finish the tests, Robin needs to finish both Yhilini magic research projects. That's not possible, since one of them was introduced just this update.
DeleteHaving said that, the final exam isn't completed yet either, even if you cheat your way in. Expect it next time!
Cheers, thanks for quick response, got it.
DeleteSo first two tests are available always, second pair was made available by Yhilini magic which was researched while I was elping elven gals and now I need second research for the rest.
Related thing - with Otherwordly Robes Robin has 305 M.Def so during solo fight test nobody was able to hurt me - is this intended?
probably cuz it was 3v1? also well i was half sleeping while playing but i am quite sure she said something like that the standards they have set for their mages are low compared to how strong is your party or something like that
DeleteWell, the Otherworldly Robes are designed for fights just like this, so they'll be a large advantage. Having said that, I'm seriously reconsidering rebalancing both of the fighting tests. They're not meant to be incredibly difficult challenges, but they could perhaps use some tweaking.
Delete@Sierra well on group test imo depends on what you wanna go for.... like:
Delete- if you want proper group challange then yes it needs to be made much harder cuz right now it was just insta kill with normal party
- but on the other hand if you want to make sense plot wise then if you made test really hard that would mean yhilina mages are seriously godtier badass if they can do tests that would be hard even for our party
>she said something like that the standards they have set for their mages are low compared to how strong is your party or something like that
DeleteWhich is interesting, since not too long ago we were getting graded as being army elites (which as Aka points out just means there's thousands of people as strong as us out there). I guess it's all uphill from here, in various senses.
We are I believe much stronger than Army Elites now. That was near 10 levels ago depending on the way you've played the game.
DeleteThe tests shouldn't be too hard, since every Yhilini Mage of a certain rank should be capable of passing I assume.
We should be more powerful than many if not most or all of them, comparing them separately and not as a group. I think the trials as they are now are fine; A low levelled Robin struggles with them like a boss fight, an average levelled Robin treats it like the prologue's Lamia as difficult but not too difficult, and a well levelled Robin washes through.
Just don't make it too difficult for a low level to play through it; I enjoy doing the minimum number of fights to progress, which means only fighting what I absolutely have to and what is relevant to the story, and I enjoy the fact that the game can be played this way making it far more a challenge in addition to making it expedient; no need to look around for monsters.
Never fear, one of my ongoing testing saves is a lowest level possible game. If it can't beat a required fight, I rebalance.
DeleteI completely forgot you can play your own game. Obviously you'd do something like that.
DeleteThank you for thinking of the low level folk, Sierra.
If there were damage dealing items like Varia's Bombs or something, then you could make the fights more powerful, making them necessary for certain difficult fights.
It's an old RPG balancing tactic; Making items that allow you to progress without the necessary power. Of course, I think too much of you to have expected you to do this before it being mentioned, but if you want to make harder fights it's a definite idea that would still allow my party to progress.
Oh yeah, I consider playing my own game for testing purposes one of the most important parts of development! If I had a lot more time each release cycle, this is definitely one of the places where I would focus more.
DeleteHonestly, the lack of damaging items is largely due to my own blindspots. Whenever I play RPGs I almost always end up with a huge number of unused items, and that goes double for damaging ones. I enjoy low level games, but I usually end up doing them as "no item" challenges too. XD
It does read pretty weird, since Robin says 'I've completed this trial' for all 4 of the small ones, and then she says 'I need to complete the other 4 trials to do this one' for the big one in the middle.
Deletethank Q I followed your work for a long time and i love to your work IT the best rpg games i played even without sex
ReplyDeleteGood morning.
ReplyDeleteI'm a writer for the H-game site, Lewd Gamer. I wanted to know if you would be interested in doing an interview to talk about your upcoming project with Hreinn games, as well as your continued work on TLS. If you're interested, please email me back at T51bwinterizedLG@gmail.com. I know alot of people are very excited about what you have planned for the future, and I'd love an opportunity to discuss it with you.
Sure, sent you an email!
DeleteI feel kinda dumb that I just fount out now, with the latest conversation with Robin, that Arans are the Arabs of this world.
ReplyDeleteAnother impressive update, Sierra! Definitely a great gift for the holidays! Speaking of... Happy Holidays to you, and a wonderful New Year, to boot!
ReplyDeleteThat Ralke--Chosen conversation was so stupidly hilarious! Also, about the end of the update... I definitely can't wait to meet Wynn - the group WOULD get to meet Wynn, by the next update, right? hehehe
Lastly, is it right that I won't get to see some of the fruits of my investments, yet (Spoiler alert - sorry peeps - like the Statue at the Square, Slums House of Petitions, etc...) - i ask since I did invest on those, but I haven't seen them yet.
Yup, expect to meet Wynn next update!
DeleteMost of the Yhilini investments are set up to take effect on the next iteration. So if you funded something the first time, it didn't appear until now. The projects you invested in this time won't appear until you're back from Zirantia. Etc.
I'm jus' an anonymous user an' all, but I finally decided I had to comment here. I've only really been playing TLS since about V. 0.14ish, but I can say with certainty that I wish I'd found this game far sooner as I was hooked the second I started playing. I'll never forget the first time I read the last of Kai and laughed my ass off at the delightful twist. (Hell, I've restarted twice now and still laugh at it...) I'd just like to say you've made one hell of a game and wish you luck an' hope you'll keep up the great work! I'm sure as hell lookin' forward to seeing where everything goes.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Not everyone gets what I'm going for with the prologue, but it sounds like it struck you just right! Hope you enjoy the rest of the game!
DeleteI have a question about this new orc I saw on the wiki that apparently takes 10 intelligence in the orc research...does that research need to be done by the current update or he someone that appears when the 10 Intelligence is reached regardless of when that happens? From your style of game making, I'm guessing its the latter but I figured getting it from the horse's mouth would work best.
ReplyDeleteThe latter. Most Yhilin progress stuff can happen any time during chapter three. There are a few exceptions - if you can't reach the Chosen on the first visit he's gone, for example. But for the most part, these are events/bonuses I expect people to get at different times based on their choices. ^-^
DeleteHey there, been awhile but I have a follow up question. Finally having some time to replay in between other stuff or at least check out earlier saves, I realized that there's only 2 times we can 'update' the orcs...how does one *get* to 10 when the Orc Intelligence level is 7 to start?
DeleteEach iteration will add two to the stat you chose, so it's just possible to get 10 now. However, this is a "get there by the end of the chapter" goal, not an "accomplish by v23 or it will be gone" goal. Just one of the things I added this time to try to make future updates faster. ^-^ Some of the things it's completely impossible to get yet.
DeleteOoooh, that I did not know since my first choice was the evolution option...good to know.
DeleteAnd I wasn't worried, I just was making sure I might not miss out on some potential dialogue. I'm a bit of a lore whore as you know :P
Looking at the Races page in the wiki, I have a question about Zirantians. Where on the spectrum between "kemonomimi" and "furry" do they fall? The game art suggests something closer to the former (mostly human, with some animal features), while the scene with the Zirantian prostitute suggests that their bodies are covered with fur (as least as far as I can recall it - it's not in my current save).
ReplyDeleteMost Zirantians are just kemonomimi, a few take steps in the furry direction, fewer actually get close. The fur as implied with the Zirantian prostitute is a fairly thin layer, mainly for the tactile elements of that scene.
DeleteIs it possible that kai returns as a ghost in future updates ??? XD
ReplyDeleteIn the prologue the quests give to understand that he knew that he was going to lose
and he would take revenge and complete his destiny ???
Is it possible that kai never died ?? And is hidden somewhere? Is it possible that everything is a sinister plan of kai ?? And he was smarter than we thought ??
I promise you, Kai is not smarter than you thought. XD
DeleteNot pressing or anything, but I just noticed that you can't open your menu (to, for example, save) while you're down in the watery part of the basement of one of the three focal points from last update. Titty Elf's side, specifically.
ReplyDeleteNo big deal, it's not like it lasts more than a minute or two and there's no mobs to fight, but nonetheless.
Seems intentional; you can't save your game in any of the timed sections.
DeleteThat is correct. While there is very little threat during that section, if save access was enabled it would be possible to save with one second left on the timer and ruin your game permanently.
DeleteWhen it's Titty Elf's side of things, there's no timed section. Like I said, there's no real need to save down there though so it's fine.
DeleteThere's a small bug in Slum House of Petitions
ReplyDeleteWhen investing in Nalili's Idea it will not progress so as long as the funds are available you can keep investing in it.
This comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteLooks like it, thanks for the report!
DeleteMaybe it's not a bug, but in first house of petitions one line of mercenary explanation is too long ("It'll be expensive...") and it causes text box to scroll along with his picture.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update.
I do try to remove those, since it looks more polished, so thanks for the report!
DeleteIn the recent update, the option for the petitioner requesting succubi for their brothel says 'Repair (10%)'. It should probably be 'Invest (10%)' or something like that.
ReplyDeleteI also replayed the entire game for the update and I noticed one old thing that I found jarring during the Aka's route. The interaction with the noticeboards in the outskirts didn't change after having completed the posted quests and didn't make sense for the characters to say after having completed the quests.
Yeah, will be getting that word changed next version.
DeleteAs for Aka's route... yup, looks like this has slipped past me and everyone else. The Big Man quest and the demon cult, right? I have added new lines for the message boards after those quests are complete - thanks for the report!
Hey. I've been playing for a while and I greatly enjoy it. You write one of the best stories, hands down, SWF or otherwise. I adore your characters and their development.
ReplyDeleteI think I have to report a bug though. I am unable to complete the latest section of the game, despite talking to literally everyone in the city (unless there is a hidden section I can't find). The Applied Theology quest just won't close.
I get the impression that I'm supposed to talk to the Chosen somehow, but he won't move on in dialogue past "Lame." I haven't gotten a single dialogue scene with him past the first with Simon (and Ara).
Unfortunately, I do not have Ralke. Maybe that's the issue?
Have you negotiated with the other countries? I had to do that to progress.
DeleteThanks, glad you like it!
DeleteThe Applied Theology quest will be automatically completed when you finish this section, sorry for the confusion. You'll get the reward provided you've talked with Sarai and at least one other person, though I assume the wiki has a list of all available conversations somewhere.
The problem is, I can't figure out how to finish the section. I've done the negotiations and tried talking to everyone, but the section wont end.
DeleteThe "Check in with ongoing projects" part of Govern Yhilin II won't finish too, if that helps diagnose the issue.
DeleteYhilin sections are always finished by talking to Janine - does she give you the option to stop working? You need to have taken care of Andra, negotiated with the Order, and finished the diplomacy. Everything else is optional.
DeleteAh, I feel like an idiot. I'm used to talking to Janine automatically giving the option, not having to select "Work" first. Thanks for the responsiveness.
DeleteAlso, from reading above, it seems like you aren't supposed to be able to finish the 4 order trials yet.
However, after choosing the appropriate research option for Robin, I had no problem completing all four. It seems to be triggered by starting the research project, not finishing it.
Thanks again.
Hello! I found this game by absolute mere chance this week, and i think you are doing great work specially given the limitations of the engine you are using.
ReplyDeleteWhat i do have to say that i love your world-building: lots of coherent organic lore, that flesh out the universe and make it alive, which is really hard to do. Right now i just want to explore and find things out about this strange place, i would play this just for that, even a SFW version. Simmons is a complex character so god job there too. I do think is a little to difficult to find, like relation points, and that some of the hidden attributes shouldn't be But i understand your decisions, which is all i can really ask.
I do have one question. I Recently arrived at Ardford and was a little lost at what to do and looke at the wiki. There's metions to a place that i still can't find called Garden of Steams, so where is it? will i stumble into it eventually? I'm i just stupid and keep passing it by?
Well take care and Merry Christmas, also thank you and congratulations on your hard work!
Thanks, glad you like the game so much!
DeleteThe Gardens of Steam are outside the city - once you've been introduced to them during the game, you'll be able to travel there via the exit. So it's not someplace you just stumble across. Questions like these are probably better asked on the wiki, you'll get a faster response there.
Hello there. I was wondering if you are still taking commissions for writing stories? I wasn't sure if you had an e-mail that I could reach you at, but I'd love to talk with you about it if possible. Thanks again and I hope to hear from you soon.
ReplyDeleteHello! Same guy as on my writing blog? In case you aren't, I'll post here, too:
DeleteBasically, thanks to my new projects, I am mostly closed to commissions. There are exceptions - we decided a commission was best for Noxian Nights, for example, but overall it's hard to find extra time. If you want to contact me, though, please leave an address and I'll email you.
One thing that somewhat surprised me at the end of my recent playthrough was that the Yhilini ambassador doesn't actually have a name. I feel like he is an important enough recurring character that he should probably be named. And, in a similar vein, he should probably have a unique image. The current one works well enough though; reassigning the generic npcs with same image would probably be enough.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteYeah, this is a case where I originally thought he would just be an NPC who would facilitate a few scenes, but he ended up getting more dialogue than expected. He may get a real name in time!
DeleteThis is an easy mistake to make; his name actually is Yhilini Ambassador. It's all a crazy coincidence, and also his parents obviously hated him.
DeleteHe was a slum born boy when he was a child, which is why he is so obsessed with helping the poor. His parents named him Yhilini Ambassador in the hopes that he would get a job that good one day.
DeleteWhen he became an adult, some soldiers heard him being called by his name in the slums and seeing how dirty he was assumed he had been assaulted, bringing him to the palace and setting him up with a room and a meeting with Janine. This was near after the King's death so Janine assumed he had been hired by the King. From there it's just been the way things are.
Hey Sierra, I have a few things to ask, if you don't mind. First, at the end of this patch, my Trin is at relationship 54. It's even said during a dialog with her, that due to her skill or whatever, her ability to duplicate has increased (it was below 50 till recently). Yet, when I ask her about duplicates, she says, that she has 6 more avaliable (+janine's uncle), making it 7 total. Shouldn't it be 8 total, since I had it at 7 total before, and it should increase by 1 at 50 relationship (hence the clue from the dialogue). Either the dialogue shouldn't appear (if it's not supposed to increase anymore), or the copies total should be 1 higher.
ReplyDeleteSecond, the Bank Manager (president, CEO, or whatever his role is) in Yhilin bank, where you can invest in the bank to be a core member. That guy, before I left for the Elven Queens journey, said, that he needs to figure out the letter for the Doom King. Now, weeks (months?) after we return back to Yhilin, he has still not figured it out?!?! (still the same reply when you talk to him) Yes, it is a minor thing, but hell... Just add one more reply, no? Please? :) I don't wanna return from Zirantia and listen to that guy still being unable to write ONE FUCKING LETTER. Now it does make some sense, seeing as the bank is a bloody mess, so obviously the guy leading it should be terrible, but really? That bad?
Third, the Noble Support Ad Campaign or however you wanna call it. If I understand correctly, it's probably like pump X amount of your funds into it so you eventually jump up to a higher tier (rating if you will). Correct? I mean I tried pumping 20% into it, and the Noble Liason's reply is still the same as before I did that. I understand that I simply haven't pumped it high enough yet, to progress to a higher tier, so that's why her response hasn't changed, but it feels kinda weird seeing literally no change whatsoever after spending 20% on that. My question is, how large (wide) are the tiers (gaps) in between, isn't it like 100% or something no? I'm just saying, if it is a large gap, shouldn't the Liason offer a higher investment than 20%? Like, 30% or hell, maybe even 50%? Just a thought. Maybe I'm wrong on this, but since you are keeping those things clouded in mystery (AKA I have no fucking clue if it actually does anything for me, seeing as it has no benefit so far), I thought I would mention this.
Thank you for your hard work, keep it up. :)
Trin: The confusion here is that Trin's number of duplicates is going to be increasing in the future (which is what she is referencing) but the actual variable hasn't increased since it isn't needed yet. In both cases, though, she only gets the duplicate boost once - it doesn't increase dynamically with her affection.
DeleteBank Manager: Whoops, missed that guy! There are a lot of different versions of different events, so sometimes I miss one. Meant to have him updated, thanks! He now says different things based on whether or not you told him to send the letter earlier.
Noble Support: This option is basically paying for Victory Points (as in the ones you earn during the Battle of Yhilin). You can keep ordering campaigns until you hit 25 points, at which point she'll change what she says. This is one of those things you'll definitely want to unlock eventually, it's just a question of how soon you can do it during this chapter. That's also the reason I wanted to limit how much you can spend buying points (or getting rid of chaos or collateral damage) each iteration.
Trin: Um, ok I guess. I understand that it will increase in future. Now, since you won't need clones for the near future, might as well increase it now, because it doesn't matter then? But that's not all that relevant, sure.
DeleteManager: Yay!
Noble Support: I mean ok, thanks for the clarification. So it's useless, but at the end of the chapter (I assume), there will be a trigger checking whether you have at least 25 victory points. Interesting, considering many people thought victory points are irrelevant after the results of the battle. I mean, are those the same victory points, correct? Meaning they are much more important then everyone believed (you need like 10 for crushing victory, right?). I mean I got probably like 15, so at least I'm ahead I guess... And 10% gets you 1 point? Seems a bit rough... I mean that's like a shit tone of money poured into that... I wonder whether that will be worth the hassle. The benefit of that. Anyway, the question whether or not to give more % as an option is still valid then, but it seems that you are decided already, so... if you say this is the best way, I won't argue.
Will have to think hard about when to drop money into that, considering I already have not opened the Vaults (I just couldn't force myself to spend 100k for the dwarven embassy). Don't wanna miss to much...
Thank you for the clarification though, really appreciated. :)
Trin: I believe you'll find Trin's actual line is, "I wanted to tell you that I'm getting better, I'll be able to handle more copies soon." If the variable was increased now, you could potentially get a smaller bonus than you would after other affection boosts.
DeleteNoble Support: The reward for 25 victory points will be at any point between finishing Zirantia and the end of the chapter. 10% gets you 3 points, so you could go from zero to max in five iterations for a max of 90% budget. I felt that was balanced with the other large investments, essentially giving a major discount on this investment based on battle performance.
Trin: Ah! Clever. I didn't think of that.
DeleteNoble Support: I didn't wanna press the issue... considering I'm pretty sure this chapter is gonna end sooner rather then later, I thought it's probably more then 1 point per 10%... but you were willing to share the exact numbers, so fine. Yea, 3 points seems fair. Says the guy, who has actually no clue what is gonna happen and thus no clue what is he talking about. :P But as such a guy, 3 points seems fair. ^_^
Typo: When talking with the Goddess of Magic girl, there's the line "Actually, no. Often I receive a pulse of... I guess it it's the magical equivalent of shaking your head no."
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'm kind of bummed the event with Big Man's house (after Big Man dies) is lost after the update in which it appears. I wasn't able to calm things down enough in either of my play throughs to see what's inside.
Thanks for catching the typo!
DeleteThe event in Big Man's house is just a Chosen who's convinced he's saving the city... basically a Shining Sword on legs. He's a reward for people with really great hidden variables, but no more than that.
There is a bug in Chapter 1 in Feroholm. The affection change for Yarra is saved in a wrong variable. When entering Ardoheim Roadside, the affection for her is zero (without title).
ReplyDeleteBTW, it would be great to be able to know the affection levels anywhere and at anytime, maybe with an item?
Thank you!
Hi! Thanks for your report, but I'm unclear on a few key details. When exactly are you seeing Yarra's variable being wrong? Affection variables are only set up properly a little ways down the road, after the Roadside events, but the oddity prior to that should be invisible.
DeleteAt the moment, there's not likely to be an item to check all affection levels. However, due to popular demand I've added a character to the end screen who reports all affection variables. Hope that helps at least a little!
Hi!
DeleteWhen I left Feroholm, I had +32 relation points with Yarra. I gained +1 in Ardoheim Roadside and +5 in Merchant Camp. But arrived in Stineford, the affection check only shows +36 relation points with her.
I took a peek at the game's code and I found that the first +32 relation points are not stored as they should. The affection is reset when entering Ardoheim Roadside.
In this case, I had to play for an hour between Ardoheim and Stineford to see the affection changes (and the error), and I'm very far to the end screen. An 'affection reminder' would be very usefull.
This comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteUh... I hope this doesn't come across as rude, but I'm afraid none of these are actually bugs. The affection counters early on are more counter-intuitive than you might expect. Every number the game has given you was correct, it's outside knowledge and looking into the game files that is giving you the impression that they weren't right.
DeleteThis is, incidentally, one of the reasons I don't want to include an item to list affection. There are occasionally differences between the real variables and the ones displayed to the player - letting players see the real variables would vastly increase the number of false bug reports.
I hope this doesn't come across as unkind, sorry. >.< But if you run across more apparent bugs as you play, please report them to other fans on the wiki or somewhere first. It's possible you'll find something everyone has missed, so I appreciate the attention to detail! But looking into this has sucked up a lot of time that would have been spent on development, and I can't afford that.

ReplyDeleteHappy New Years
ReplyDeleteNoticed that in Aka's Route Yhilin Palace Royal Chambers
Yhilin Ambassador (Page 3) never gets triggered, shouldn't it be triggered after Page 2?
Also after Implevon's introduction is he suppose to stare at you blankly?
Implevon's blank line is a known bug that will be fixed in the next version, but no one else has noticed the other bug. Got it fixed, thanks!
Delete"Happy New Years"
You too!
Happy New Years.
ReplyDeleteCould we get a separate ledger to keep track of the investments made with the Yhilin royal funds in the house of petitions? I wouldn't think it would be hard to copy and paste, and it would make sense for Simon and Megail keep the account records separate. In this case, it might also make sense to rename 'Ledger' to 'Personal Ledger' or something to that effect, to contrast it from the 'Yhilin Ledger'.
Speaking of wasting time tracking down bugs, have you ever tried out HimeWorks RM FPS Control (http://himeworks.com/2014/10/rm-fps-control/)? Its a nifty little utility that hooks into RPG maker games and allows you increase or decrease the FPS, increasing or decreasing the speed of the game. It could be helpful to speed up debugging by running the game 2x or 3x speed or more when trying to replicate bugs. I've never encountered it breaking anything, and I use it to run virtually every RPG maker I play at 120-180 FPS.
Cheers!
A Yhilini Ledger is an entirely reasonable request, but it probably won't happen right away. It's not some elegant system, I manually attach each potential line of text to the right switches. It'd take a little bit for me to put together all the pending/completed investments - it does feel like it would be a good thing to have in the game, though, so good suggestion.
DeleteThanks for the link, but time spent on bugs is usually mostly looking through game files. With text skip and increased player speed, I blow through the actual replication quite fast. ^-^
Another good debugging tool is Yanfly Engine Ace - Debug Extension
Deletehttp://yanflychannel.wordpress.com/rmvxa/utility-scripts/debug-extension/
It allows you to view/modify switches, variables, ability to teleport between maps, test battles & events, and change inventory.
It also warns if something is active without a name like switch 1290. Also it is automatically disabled outside the testing environment.
Hmm, that does have some potentially useful features, I will have to play around and see if it's more efficient than my current methods. Thanks!
DeleteThank you for your hard work Sierra, I hope 2017 will be a better year for you then 2016.
ReplyDeleteHi, i was playing TSL today, and i was thinking about Varia...
ReplyDeleteWell in my opinion she is a bit unbalanced, Probably the most of the people are spamming her Furius Strikes, becouse Blood Strike is not as powerful as it schould be... If you have a single oponent, you would still more likely use Furious Strikes, becouse thouse deal greater amount of damage... and have almost the same cost. To compare, we have Aka, who has many attacks that are capable of debufing enemy in 2 turns to complete zero dmg in your tanks... And still deal more damage than Varia
Your sincerly
Gawelcus
You may be right about some parts of this, I will at least play around with the numbers and see how I feel about the exact balance.
DeleteI do only use Varia's 4-attack moves myself, but whether that's actually stronger or just gives that impression is hard to say.
DeleteAre we going to see what happened to the succubi that simon feed in the elves forest? Seeing how the incubus emperor reacts to his elite strikeforce failing utterly and being marked by the essence of a rival incubus king will probably spur him to do something stupid
ReplyDeleteI wasn't planning any major consequences related to this group - Iris swept as much of those events under the rug as possible to keep the Incubus Emperor from throwing a fit. You might meet one of the succubi who was there later, though.
DeleteIt might have been neat to see something later on down the line even if it's just on the level of a new succubus being added to the palace.
DeleteYou know, 'You were so great I just had to' etcetera.
