Version 0.9.0 [6/20/15]
- New section of the game.
- Five new plot sex scenes.
- Twenty new affection sex scenes.
The big thing you probably noticed there is that I managed to finish everybody's affection scenes! It was a bunch of work, but this way no one's favorite character will be under construction. You could edit affection to get them all (honestly, if I was playing I might >.>) but I intend to balance sex content on the assumption that you're slowly earning them over the course of the game.
One word about balance this section: my goals this time were a little unusual. I wanted to give the feeling that the party was stronger, but still give a sense for their limitations. What ultimately matters is that this section is fun to play, so let me know what you think.
Update on the job front: when I lose my job in August, I should be able to transition smoothly into part time work that will tide me over until I can apply for the 2016 semester. Other than the unavoidable time spent moving, I anticipate there won't be much delay in the game. This job is a very good option for me, so once I get housing settled I'll be feeling comfortable again. ^^
Anyway, I think that's all about the game. Hope you guys enjoy the chance to revisit old areas, but with an update this broad there are sure to be some bugs.
Hello Ms. Lee,
ReplyDeleteI literally just started playing your game (version 0.8.2). I'm enjoying most of the writing so far. I haven't had the opportunity to download this newest version. It isn't available for public, yet.
I spotted two bugs (I don't know if you intended it that way; this is version 0.8.2). They both happen after killing Kai (the Chosen) and going back to the campsite:
1. I can't give any extra mushrooms to the collector. He just says: "I'll gladly take more mushrooms, if you can find enough."
2. I can't rest at the campsite. The man just makes a remark about how the Chosen being dead quickly.
I don't want to seem overly critical of your game from the get-go, as I'm enjoying the story progression. However, I do have one small quip. Simon's deceased wife, at least, in the first scene she's introduced (campfire with Yarra), seems a bit more sexual than I had anticipated. I don't know if Yarra influenced that memory at all, but when Simon looked at the picture, he held her in great esteem. Perhaps my interpretation is wildly different, but I figured her character introduction would be more than a very open blowjob in the middle of the training grounds.
I know it's still very early in the game for me to come to a conclusion like his wife was a sexual deviant, but I just wanted to make that clear.
Appreciate your time.
-JokerSmith
After you convince Simon in his house, you should look at the picture again. He makes a comment about her and I think that clearly states what kind of person she was.
DeleteGlad you're enjoying the game! As for your reports:
Delete1) He only wants sets of three. This should be clearer in 0.9.0.
2) You lose the ability to rest after those events. Don't worry, you're headed straight back to Feroholm and another free resting place.
Wendis: You're right that Simon held her in great esteem, but she was also a very sexual person. Over time you'll see that she was someone who could draw him out of his comfort zone. Hopefully you'll feel better about her characterization after some of the other information and flashbacks.
Hi I was wondering if you could add some debug options to the game. For instance a pot that gives you potions (Or a shop where you can buy the items but just cheaper.Like 10g each.) Or a "Painting" that gives you exp *Wink* *Wink*
ReplyDeleteHey there, really sorry I missed responding to your other comment!
DeleteUnfortunately, I have to tell you I do not intend to add options like that at this time. The balance is about the way I intended it, and if you want to edit, you have a lot of options for that.
I discovered two bugs:
ReplyDelete1: The sidequest where you get the goods from the pass. You can't seem to turn the quest in to the guy that gives it once you get the goods.
2: If you explore for new tunnels in the Devil's Pass until the random chance of an encounter the fight will work normally but once you end the fight it will give you a dark screen and you can't do anything but bring up the menu and then quit to title. I wouldn't advise saving in that state obviously. For some reason it doesn't revert back to the map.
PS: I just discovered that you can actually move around on the world map its just that the screen is all black so you have to wander blindly until you hit one of the locations and enter it hopefully. I'll have to count the number of tiles down from that pass and over to the spot where you get ingredients earlier in the game so that I can fool around a bit in the pass and see what else I discover :D.
Delete1) Dang. This was buggy during testing and I really thought I got it, but the quest is based on the new custom script. I'll have to give it another look.
Delete2) This one was easy to fix, at least. The screen fades out when you explore the pass, but due to how the battle is set up, if you get that result it never fades back in. Fixed.
FYI, there's not a whole lot to find in the random tunnels. It just would have felt weird if you couldn't go back there.
I can see where you were talking about the heavy moral choices for this chapter. The bandit one was pretty easy to decide, but the other...I honestly would need a spoiler or 2 before I felt comfortable either way.
ReplyDeleteThis is why I make a second save just incase.
Delete...I have used all 16 saves at this point, albeit for sex scene I particularly like but there are enough of them spread out I can change a LOT if I need to.
DeleteNeither choice is going to spring anything nasty on you and they ultimately lead to the same number of sex scenes. ^^
DeleteAre you going to try to hotfix the currently reported bugs from the patreon release so that they are mostly fixed by the time you release the public version? Of course not all bugs are easily fixed so I could understand if some do not get squashed by that time.
DeleteNew releases take time, so if all the bugs are minor I don't bother and just fix them for the next full version. In this case, though, there's a comment I really should have deleted and the fadeout you reported - those kinds of things mess with someone's experience. So I'll probably do a 0.9.1 for the public release.
Deletenew version is up already ????? O.O
ReplyDeleteFor Patreon backers, yeah. Public release is next weekend.
DeleteMEANIE !!!!!! but old save from last month can be used this month update ??
ReplyDeleteMy plan is for you to be able to carry saves over for the entire rest of the game.
DeleteJust saying this game is way to grindy. I had to kill every single enemy just to get past the palace. That's one of the reasons why I asked for Debug content. Also what ways can I edit like you said in the last post? (I tried replying to you it didn't work. So I'm making another comment. Sorry)
ReplyDeleteSorry you feel that way. I'd invite you to reconsider strategy, however, since all the required content so far can be done with a minimum level party. You may be having a more frustrating time than I intended.
DeleteEditing is complicated and you have a lot of options. Other people would give you better advice than me, since I don't really use most of them.
Yeah. I'm guessing it would be editing your game and adding an object into the game or something. I just did a massive play though all the way to the palace I'm around level 20 and I still can't beat the boss. Either something is wrong with me or the game doesn't like me very much.
DeleteDo you mean when you enter Yhilin Palace during the coup? If so, are you repeatedly using blind/silence on the enemies?
DeleteAlso, party composition matters as well as their gear. Yarra with a buttplug solveth many a problem...just sayin.
Delete*Regarding David's comment* What stats do the buttplugs boost? I was in the shop but I didn't notice much of anything fancy in there so I didn't bother with any of the items in the succubus tower. *Is now going to go look to see what I missed*.
DeleteSuccubus equipment is less about stats than the secondary effects (written in brackets). They have the potential to really change how your succubi play.
DeleteIt basically maxes out her sp right off the bat and makes it possible for her to keep what she gathers in fight.
DeleteYes on the Coup. It's weird. I do use blind on the 2 Mages and the Noble boy. The only problem is that they get out of it instantly. It's weird.
DeleteThe only RPG Maker I have is XP. Do you use 2003? or is It ACE?
DeleteThe bosses counter blind and silence. If you keep using it over and over, you're going to have a hard time winning no matter what your level is.
DeleteThis game is made in VX Ace.
This comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteWell this is weird. I tried editing the file and says that isn't compatible. Weird.
DeleteSo wait, version 0.9.0 means the next one will be 1.0.0 i.e. game done or 0.10.0 i.e. far from done? Or is this one of those times that 1.0.0 means nothing in particular?
ReplyDeleteI think it means nothing. I've had games that weren't finished until 5.0.0
Delete0.10.0, far from done - there will be multiple chapters. ^-^
DeleteHuh, not sure if my last comment made it through.
ReplyDeleteIs there any way to support you directly through paypal? Paypal doesn't like NSFW patreon projects.
Also, is there a twitter or a tumblr I can follow for updates? Visiting this site means I'll probably end up missing updates.
I didn't get any notification about a comment before this one, so looks like not.
DeleteYes, you can send me PayPal donations to my Gmail account at sierra.lee.author. I don't have an exact policy on how this works, but if you give the Patreon amount and want the game early, I'll send you the links ASAP.
I don't have a Twitter or Tumblr, sorry. Your comment about it being useful to you is noted, though. ^^
Thanks for the swift reply! I had originally written a longer comment but it appears to have been eaten when blogspot made me log in. Since you're active in this comment section, I guess I might as well:
DeleteYou've done a great job on this game! I thought it would be another boring RPG-Maker game with the same boring combat and terrible design but boy was I wrong. This is one of the best, if not THE best RPG maker game out there (I guess Legend of Queen Opala is the only real competitor).
Unfortunately I got hold of a copy still called The Last FuckLord and played that through until the end, decided to check to see if there had been any updates. Saw the new title and downloaded the new version but unfortunately I couldn't do anything to transfer my saves over or anything. Felt quite frustrating as I had just spent a good hour trying to clear the optional dungeon (where you find the Incubus Armor). Will the new versions for the foreseeable future have compatibility with the current save files? As much as I like the game, I've just played it through twice and wouldn't necessarily want to play through it a third time just now if I get the 0.9 version.
Another thing I wanted to ask is if there's a wiki or a blogpost or something that explains the mechanics of the game? For example, what exactly does Simon's Heroic Imitation do? I've tried it a lot and besides a few monsters that are weak to it (?) it seems to be just weaker than using stunning blow, even against immune enemies. Also Yarra's Flirt for example, "sends mixed messages" isn't really too helpful as a description. It seems to give the enemy +attack and +lust (the latter does... nothing?) but doesn't do more damage than any other attack? I dunno, I've not experimented awfully with the mechanics, but I'm still curious about these things.
Thanks, glad you've enjoyed it so much!
DeleteI upgraded a lot of systems with version 0.8.x, which unfortunately made old saves invalid. I have every intention of letting you transfer saves through the rest of the game the way it worked for the first seven updates.
There is no wiki or equivalent right now, though I hope to develop one eventually. For now:
- Heroic Imitation is Simon's attempt to use Chosen skills, and it's functionally useless. This is a plot aspect, not a mechanics one.
- The description of Flirt is vague, sorry, it will be changed soon. It raises the enemy's attack but also makes them attack allies. Notably, the version in 0.9.0 is stronger than the one you're using.
Great! I've sent a payment directly through PayPal.
DeleteI've got more questions to ask, and I suppose I might as well do it here in public so that other people can see the answers. I'm not expecting a wall of text reply, just kind of thinking out loud here. Feel free to ignore all/any questions.
Precise Strike, Powerful Blow and Forceful Lunge: Just a stronger attack? Or do they/any of them have other mechanics?
Shared endurance "Out of combat, gradually revives an ally.", what does that mean? It seems to -instantly- revive an ally out of combat. It's not like you have to wait, what's gradual about it?
Suppress Lust restores MP but doesn't say anything about it in the description.
Succubus Kiss drains life (and heals Yarra) but the description doesn't reflect this. It's very vague, but easy enough to figure out.
Shared Fantasy is also very vague, it boosts MDEF and DEF, as far as I can tell, It seems a bit weird that the other Sex-attacks Yarra have are all negative, and it shares an icon with Haze of Sex which is also an attack you target enemies with. When I first got Shared Fantasy I thought it'd be something I'd use on enemies. Obviously you quickly learn that it isn't by playing, but still.
Shining Sword/Armor/Robe are (currently?) unequippable, I saw from a previous answer from you that it's an intentional thing. Perhaps they will be equippable later, which would make the change pointless, but shouldn't they be in Key Items next to the Incubus King's Armor if they can't be used?
Some optional "quests" don't appear in the Quest Journal (collect Phallic Mushrooms and Noble Figurines come to mind). There doesn't seem to be any real reason why these aren't listed in the quest log, it just makes it harder to remember them if you're gone for a while then come back to the game.
In the old version there wasn't even a quest log at all. It's very nicely implemented I think.
In combat, if you press X and go back you get to a menu that says Fight or Escape, since you can never Escape it seems pointless for it to be there. This might be an RPG maker limitation though, or something that will be useful at some special point in the future I suppose.
Sex items were really confusing before, you could get them before the Succubus in the tower had taught you about them and they seemed all around worse than just equipping whips/etc, thankfully the effect is now listed in brackets and they make a lot of sense.
And to finish off with: It seems like Simon is getting more and more accepting of his Incubus King status over time. He starts to become less morally strict and allows for certain arguably 'evil' things. Does this mean we might end up seeing a darker side of him in sex scenes too? Basically, I'm a sick fuck and it tickled me when the current/old Incubus King started talking about filling people with horse cum and all that. Obviously Simon wouldn't do things like that, at least not to that extent, but might we get some more... perverse or perhaps "darker" fetishes later on in the story? The hottest scenes have been the rape-iest ones, and the ones that kind of tease incest between Simon and 'Simonette' ;)
You should have gotten your links a while ago - thanks! ^-^
DeleteQuestions:
1) Most characters get one special attack that is stronger than a normal attack but doesn't have any unique effect.
2) The "gradual" on Shared Endurance is lore, just the reason it can't be used in combat.
3) Some trivial optional quests will be added into the quest log. Eventually.
4) Escape option is built into RPG Maker and can't be removed, but it CAN be used on rats, Obnoxious Slimes, and other essentially pointless fights.
5) This game will never do a good/evil paths thing, but you'll get a chance to indulge some darker fetishes (some in the version you just received, actually). And if you're interested in Simon-cest, well... =P
Awesome! Got the links and it's working fine. Thanks for the answers too! Looking forward to sinking my teeth into the new version, and all future ones!
DeleteYou can't really call Simon's quest (Yes I just made a reference to the 2nd Castlevania game) and his methods of going about it overly good or very evil for that matter. If I were to attempt a DnD alignment I would say he is mostly Neutral with a tendency towards Neutral Good at times. By and large he's definitely a neutral fellow. He definitely doesn't lean towards the evil side of things and if you take into account his goals... well they are actually fairly noble. He's trying to solve a big problem in small steps. The world he's building towards really can't be called corrupt. It could be considered lusty for sure but I wouldn't say that is necessarily a bad thing.
DeleteAlso, I didn't get the vibes that Simon would even consider doing his daughter. He seems sensible enough to realize that there's a reason you don't go looking for tail when you're that close in the gene pool. (not that he necessarily grasps the concept of genetics but I'm sure that they're aware of the difficulties and complications that arise around inbreeding.)
I would call the options towards the end of this update mildly darker than they have been in the thus far. I actually liked it.
Your point about genetics: She's adopted, so I don't think inbreeding comes into it at all. Pregnancy also seems to be of little concern in this story, iirc nobody has mentioned it even though there's a lot of raw sex and internal ejaculation.
DeleteBut come on, if Simon had to "save" Robin like he's "saved" so many others before, wouldn't he? I can easily think of a scenario where Robin is corrupted or poisoned or whatever, like with the Aphrodesiac or that thing about the Collars. It wouldn't be 'evil' incest, it'd be a Neutral Good act, saving his adopted daughter, the only possible way!
I also thing there's been at least a few hints at it, especially the scene where Robin is tricked by Yarra to come into the tent and she sees Simon going at it.There's also "So you just talked her into having sex with your dad?" "Yeah, and I'm strangely alright with that" or however it goes in the caverns.
I am God. I am a Genius. Shrek is Love, Shrek is Life.

I was Hyping when I found this out. The money thing makes you crash your game though. I got it to around 12,000 then I went a little higher and well the game crashed. Aw well at least I can beat the game now.
Found a tiny bug. After getting back through the Merchant's Pass I went to the lake/swamp where you gathered the ingredients for the Potions License. When interacting with any of the objects the game locks in place for a bit until and you can't move until you press Z again. I assume there's still a text box opening in the background, but since no actual text is displayed it just seems like you get stuck for a bit.
ReplyDeleteActually, trying to reproduce this it seems to behave normally after entering the zone again. Not sure what caused it. I suppose there is still a slight 'error' in the fact that Robin still talks as if we're looking for ingredients "These aren't the things we're looking for."
If you press alt it rings the text box up. If not you might have to save the game then close it open it and play. It's an RPG maker game bug.
DeleteIf you press alt it rings the text box up. If not you might have to save the game then close it open it and play. It's an RPG maker game bug.
DeleteI'm pretty sure Joseph is right and this is a case of accidentally hiding the text box (Ctrl by default). Robin commenting doesn't make sense, though, and she'll stop commenting after the quest in the next version.
DeleteCan I ask how to get past the zombies? I know there is a way but by the looks of it it's bugged. For instance there is a zombie that always catches you then you go back to the beginning. The one in the middle I would say.
ReplyDeleteIt isn't bugged. If a zombie looks in a direction (even temporarily), that way isn't safe, but they have a limited range of vision.
DeleteThe correct path is to go right past the first pillar, then head up to the upper right corner of the room. From there, you can just sneak between the zombies looking in opposite directions, then snake around the upper left pillar.
Ok there's a zombie on the red carpet I'm at least 5 tiles away from him but he see's me instantly and I get caught. I have tried but he just keeps seeing me. Even if he's looking the other way.
DeleteOh I could have never have been so stupid.
DeleteHow long til the next chapter gets released for public? Another week or 2?
ReplyDeleteIt's this upcoming weekend.
DeleteWill it be a patched up version of 0.9.0? (Meaning those of us on patreon would want to redownload if we wished to play with those fixes.)
DeleteAlso, how far off do you think it will be before you get the next chapter ready for release? I'm guessing maybe a couple months or more huh?
Yeah, public release will be 0.9.1 - mostly minor improvements and typos, but I wanted to put out a new one thanks to that one fadeout bug.
DeleteI can't say with 100% certainty when the next version will be out, but it shouldn't be that long! I try to put out a new update about the size of 0.9.x every month and I've been successful so far. You'd be reasonable to expect mid-July barring major delays.
i have just finished 8.2 a very good game had waited to play the game till some more content was finished after stinefort
ReplyDeletebut gotte admit the snake pass was difficult even with 20 or 30 mana potions or healt potions as it took all the health potions i had :P
Thanks! There won't be a ton of optional sections like that, but I'll try to make them challenging when they appear!
