It's finally time to release the postgame to everyone! It started out with quite a bit of content, and I added more based on suggestions from supporters, so there's a lot for everyone to enjoy. ^-^ One final run around the world you created, then the credits roll...
I wish I could just bask in having reached this point, but unfortunately as many of you may already know, there's been a lot of trouble recently with adult games and payment processors. I have not been hit at this time, outside of the delisting and threat that's common to all creators in this space. This probably isn't the place to get into that, but if you want to get involved, see which of the initiatives are relevant to your region.
In personal terms, I am well-prepared for this. I've done my best to diversify, so I can weather some storms. That said, if you want to follow my work, please prepare in case any puritanical types do succeed in taking down my work. You can follow me on Patreon or SubscribeStar without spending anything. My games are on Steam, itch.io, and a bunch of sundry platforms. You can get news via my Discord and, in a pinch, probably the fan wiki. I haven't found social media very effective, but I do have a Twitter/X account that could give news in an emergency.
No individual platform is immune to censorship, but they aren't likely to get hit all at once. Thanks to everyone's support, I've made this my career and I'm not dependent on any one source, so if the worst does come to pass, it's just a question of finding my work on a new platform.

It has a real soul and it's frustrating how it could be in jeopardy, from being seen by a larger audience, because of small minded and ignorant people. Thank you for your dedication and hard work.
ReplyDeleteThankfully, my work has spread further than a single platform, so it would be hard for activists to take it down completely. The fear is that they'd manage to remove it from Steam, which would remove one of the main channels by which new players discover TLS, and one that many people prefer to use. In any case, I'll keep striving to finish the game and make it available to everyone!
DeleteI don't know how developer friendly it would be but Kagura has long put games, quite a lot that would be considered against Steams existing rules ohn Steam by releasing a SFW version on Steam and then allowing for a free patch to change that from their main site.

ReplyDeleteI took a (very long) break until after the postgame was finished for a complete playthrough. I started again and found a very minor graphical bug: https://imgur.com/a/qo47cwC
For some reason, in chapter 2 when you first arrive at the watchtowers and the guard is supposed to get commander Geoff, the door no longer opens during the cutscene. Same happens when Geoff gets out, or when he leaves again.
Also, I understand these have been added a long time ago but I absolutely love the larger dialogue portraits, and the extra battle busts as well! In the end I just want to thank you for making one of my favourite games I've ever had the pleasure of playing ^^
Glad to hear you've enjoyed your return to the game! Thanks for the bug report... I think what's going on is that because I locked the door so players couldn't mess it up in the postgame, it's also locked for those earlier cutscenes. Should be fixed now!

I found this game by coincidence and when i saw the "hero" of the game i didn't want to play it anymore, but I still continued and after prologue, it was one of the best games I've ever played! - There is no difference between Sho Spell and Wand battle busts, apart from Spell being blurrier. Probably forgot an image somewhere.
- Which makes me think, it’s a bit of a shame there weren’t any Kalant battle bust from when he saved Tyna, but I guess it was a cinematic.

I mean, I appreciate that, lore-wise, we won, but after more than 5 years of checking in, it feels weird not to do it for one last time, you know ? It’s like leaving your house for vacations and spending the entirety of your break worrying if you left the lights on or not. A torturous feeling of unfinished business.
- Yeah, Ina has been around the longest except Aka, Yarra and Qum. It must be amazing (and a bit overwhelming) from the perspective of a normal person to see so much changes, so fast and from so close ^^. Hadn’t thought about how her old job would have stopped her from being able to marry due to medieval misogynistic views. Probably because we’ve seen so many strong women being free to do what they want. Anyways, we definitely want to see your choice for sure !!! Still, it’s nice to see one of the person Simon wanted to help at the start of the game thanking him. Sure, she did it before, but it hold a different weigh now.

- Okay, except the obvious fourth wall joke, it’s indeed the first time Simon had the time to *really* breathe since being implanted by the shard. His mindset finally had the time to catch up and adjust. That delay in reacting is often seen after an adrenaline rush. And damn, what a long 10- Year-rush it has been XDXDXD

Mostly a mix between my completionist OCD which push me to always make sure I can obtain the best result by save scumming, and my environment where I’m forced to often pause while playing. I really, *really* hope Lilith is just joking around with her prizes, though I’m curious to see what would be her lines if we really reached those counts. Still, along with the ‘I’m hiding’ from the Final Clearing and the text box displacement from her Abode, I can’t help but wonder if this is only in- Lore humor or if Lilith can really perceive our presence/game mechanics. Would be interesting to see how her vision fits with the Spheres and Tales multiverse. Maybe that’s how she could ‘die’ in the Final Dungeon, each of her variations is one self from an alternate version of TLS !!! Man, it also explain why she’s so much AHDA and contradictory all the time apart, you know, her Chaotic nature XDXDXD

If you save your loved ones, but not the world, they’ll still end up dying in the cataclysm, while saving a world without loved ones is just meaningless.
- Anyway, it’s nice to see them debate such subjects calmly while they have time instead of rushing things at the last second. The decision stays the same, but the consequences might not.
- I don’t think any lines drawn about such a topic can ever be ‘objective’. It’s always gonna be a deeply personal decision, even more wince it concern the lives of others and their eternal consequences.
- Orcent is indeed best orc, but considering the Fables, Spheres, alternate universes and player decisions like with Altina and Varia, there is an infinite number of variables dictating the harem relationships. Like waves at sea, strings humming through the void, or the flaps of a butterfly, ever actions influence our world in subtle ways, eventually converging in life changing moments. Opening the door or not, call back to apologize, taking the time to pick up the fallen groceries of an old lady. So many possibilities, and so little knowledge to take them.
- Poisoning your life with what if are the best way to ruin it. If you make a choice, you gotta commit to the end, but only as much as you’ve given. If the other person doesn’t make effort on her part, and/or even actively sabotage the relationship, you’re better off without them.
- Yes, there will be a lot of discussions about this important decision for the years to come. If you end up deciding that you’re not made for immortality after experiencing it, it’s an easily fixable mistake. The reverse is just impossible in comparison, even Wendis only ‘cheated’ death.
- A longer life is also a fuller life, unless you spend it stuck in your room, depressing all day long. You need to experience a lot of emotions to make it ‘worth it’.
- Of course an immortal life will end up changing your relationship to the world, especially after everything you have known has disappeared and changed. The most important thing is to not let it change ‘too much’. Go out, explore, meet other peoples, keep yourself up to the current time. Staying stuck in the long gone past will only increase your sense of rejection and melancholy.

Please understand, there are 30+ members of the harem and not every player will have gotten all of them. A full cast portrait would not only be a tall order, it'd make them hard to see at game resolution.

DeleteI do wish there was a way to change the MCs name as the default name is that of a close family member and he even looks alike lol, its slightly off-putting haha. I dont expect this to be addressed of course, as that would probably be way too much work for something that'll only really affect a handful of people (and the game's creator would probably not enjoy spending time feature-creeping her own finished game) but if there is a workaround I can pursue myself and if anyone can describe it to me (idk is there a way to find and replace all instances of the MCs name or would that screw with the game's functioning? (I have no idea how games work lol)) I'd be endlessly grateful.
ReplyDeleteSorry, but I don't think there's a simple way to do that. The game's text doesn't exist in a big script that you could do a find and replace job on. To make the name variable would require changing every instance of his name to a variable call instead, which is obviously a tall order.
