The Future of TLS

Hello, everyone! I'm here to talk about several things.

Most importantly, I've just made public a significant Patreon post. In it, I talk about exactly how many chapters TLS will have, outline the rough shape of what future development will look like, and share some thoughts about what's been done so far compared to my original plans.

Second, I've updated the public version yet again to 0.29.5. Nothing too important in this update, but I don't like there being bugs in the main public version when a new one isn't imminent. So if anyone is replaying the war or starting fresh, get the newest version from the previous post.

Third, I've put up my commercial games on GameJolt. Check them out at these links if you have any interest in the platform:
https://gamejolt.com/games/ouroboros/252857
https://gamejolt.com/games/crimsongray/285247

As I detail in the first link, whenever I complete a chapter of TLS, I take a break to work on something different to refresh myself creatively. So I have not been working on TLS recently, but I have been working on a new project that will hopefully be complete soon. Patrons will definitely get to play a new, complete game in October, and everyone else can count on seeing it in time. ^-^

So yes, feel free to read that first post and please look forward to the future of TLS!

  1. you honestly deserve any break whenever you feel like it. The content packed in these games, I find better than any rpg i've played in years. Other projects you've been working on? Can't wait :)

  2. First of all thank you for such a wondrous game Sierra Lee. That last series of update leading to the Third Arclent War is really show the culmination of what have been years in the making and it's only the middle incline up for the climax. It has been a pleasure playing this game. With that said now that Simon and crew are going to having a time skip I was wondering if it's possible to get custom graphics and avatar for the main cast? Seeing as they are going to get a tiny bit older in the next chapter. (I dread on what might happen to Yarra now that she is past her prime age)

    1. Glad you enjoyed it! Redoing the main character graphics aren't high on my priority list, as the time skip between chapters won't be too long of one.

  3. Once again like the previous posts I'd firstly like to thank you so much for this is game, for the effort you put in and its consistency. I'm truly looking forward to further developments with regards to the so called "goddesses" and also with the new succubi ... besides that you are more than entitled to take time off when you feel like you need it . As things grow I feel like there is so much to look forward to I don't even know anymore what I'm truly most excited about. Thank you so much you truly are the MVP orf MVP's

  4. Hopefully Sarai will stay as a virgin for the rest of the game, for the sake of comedy. Also: Only you would take a break from work by doing another work.

    1. Haha, you can expect Sarai to be frustrated for a while longer. She'll get what she wants in the end, though.

As for work, I really want this to be my professional career, so I must do ALL THE THINGS. XP

      And Simon, of course.

    3. Of course I was referring to when Janine told Simon that exact same quote. :>

  8. Ah, what a bittersweet feeling to know that there is an end planned out but that the end approaches.

Regardless, I'll be in touch. Hopefully, by the next TLS update, I'll have completed my four other playthroughs.

  9. Considering the fact that even enemies without any Normal Attack skill have a defined Atk Element, I would guess it's a bug that a few enemies have no defined Atk Element? I suppose it could be intentional, as without it their attack is defined as None (I think?), but then even enemies like mages with just a spell have a defined Atk Element, so I would think this is not intended? For anyone reading this and not understanding, this like basically doesn't matter at all, but it's still a thing I thought was worth mentioning for Sierra to consider. I could list which of those enemies are the case, but like you can just go through the list and see for yourself, Sierra, if you are willing to "fix" this.

    1. You're correct, but it's not really a problem due to the way the combat formulas work. The main reason I'd give an enemy no element is because I'd want them to pierce resistance to physical attacks, whereas most enemies have one even if it's irrelevant because my enemy templates have an attack element by default.

    2. I mean I wasn't even sure that is the case and honestly I don't really know the mechanics of the game as well as you do, I just figure stuff out (plus some things you see in the RPG Maker when you open the game file, obviously). Long story short, if it's intentional, sure, no problem then.

  10. Am I the only one who thought of Javert from Les Miserables (https://youtu.be/uImFBQ-_bt4?t=1m52s) when that one guy from Ardoheim in the Conference Chamber says "nip it in the bud"?

  11. Truth be told i only found out TLS like few months ago (was around 27. something) and ever since i have liked it a lot. Played every time new update came from beginning to end and liked it a lot. Now i have also played You'r other game (Ouroboros was it?) and have to say that one was quite a disappointment as you need to play it over and over again with a few minor changes after each reset. Lost all interest after second time. Also have played Grimson Gray what could have been also better. Seeing how only Good game so far has been TLS and now You are saying it's near it's end, this is a disappointing. Have played it so many times from beginning and in total of somewhere around 200 hours. I don't really know what You are planing to make for new games but can be sure they won't be as good or near as was The Last Sovereign. Honestly this game could use a lot more chapters because it is just so good. Well have said what i thought but still yeah, losing TLS is bad...

    1. Just going to have to wait and see. Remember those projects were side projects that while plotwise probably were fleshed out. Were worked on for month long spurts that took up a single TLS slot. The reason a TLS update has such good quality in comparison is because an entire month+ of work goes into it.

I don't think Sierra's other games are bad as much as just not "as" great as TLS. Everyone also has personal preferences so I'm not faulting you for that either. That's just my take on it. TLS is amazing.

    2. Other games have they'r good and bad parts yes but all together they won't come near as good as TLS is. Also i have played other games as well with some kind of plot and sex scenes but this has an actual story, plot thickens and surprises are around every corner. Other games usually have something like this, guy/girl meets someone/or family member and then has sex with them in like 15 minutes into game. So now talking about sex when this game has sex everywhere but aside from that i like it a lot. This truly is best (nr.1.) story/sex game i have ever played and like i said, losing it is a loss.

  12. I love TLS and been resetting everything from scratch because everytime I update, the saves gets corrupted somehow. I even made a comic when I had to delete my saves and I actually had a good laugh. XD

  13. Hi Sierra, just an idea. Why don't you make a RPG Maker game with East Asian Martial Art genre, like Crouching Tiger and Hidden Dragon? Just consider it to refresh you creatively. Because it will give different challenge than what have you face previously in your Western RPG Genre so far.

    1. Haha, thanks for the suggestion. Resources like sprites and tiles would be the major obstacle there, but thanks to everyone's support, my budget for this sort of thing is increasing! I promise you'll see me explore a variety of settings and concepts, anyway. ^-^

    2. Yes, sprite is definitely the problem.
