Version 0.24.0
- New section of the story, finishing the Zirantian section.
- One new plot sex scene.
Version 0.24.1
- Polishing and bugfixing.
- Improved version of Fuani's image found by Decanter.
This update finishes Zirantia! Lots of things wrapped up this time, so next the party will be headed back to Yhilin. I hope that the next release can come sooner than the usual 4-5 weeks, because I've been trying to work ahead on Ari-Yhilina events like the new investments you saw last time. There will be more updates about this on Patreon, hopefully culminating in a faster than average release.
I think that's all for now. I'm going to be AFK for a while, because I am actually going outside and watching a movie. Insanity, I know. If anything got broken during the fixes, I'll be back to fix it later. Otherwise, I hope that I'll be able to transition fully to working on the next release.
Can i report a bug here? because a think i find one, nalili only hit three times with orgy of blows and she´s not losing an attack by killing a enemy. Thats all, thank you for the great game!
ReplyDeleteWhile its description hasn't been updated yet, I think the skill could have been intentionally debuffed.
DeleteSorry, I forgot to change the skill text. Yes, Orgy of Blows has been reduced to three hits for balance reasons.
DeleteGuess Nalili will be joining Varia in the group of characters I never cycle into the party as Orgy of Blows was the only reason I would use her on occasion. Varia is made of glass and often dies in the first round so she just isn't worth the headache and since Nalili has next to zero versatility even with her self buff she really isn't worth it now ether especially since she cant equip a barrier pin which makes her vulnerable for a character that is supposed to be a fighter probably why even before this I only occasional used her.
DeleteIf you find Varia or Nalili dying too much, you might want to try giving them stronger armour or combining them with Hilstara - enemies are much more likely to target Hilstara, even before using Shieldwall. With a steel claw, steel armour, and an Ardan helm, Varia's defense is pretty decent and I don't ever have problems with her dying (likewise Nalili with steel armour, defensive collar and a rune shield).
DeleteCombining Varia with Qum is also handy, since alternating between Masturbate and Arousing Aura will keep giving mini-heals to offset Varia's self-damage skills, whilst also boosting her offense. Likewise, Carina can be useful with Shield Of Purity. It's all about finding the right combinations :-)
Varia and Nalili are most useful against multiple opponents, as opposed to Aka and Simon being strong against single enemies, so that's where you can make best use of them (in the same way that Altina is only ever better than Robin if there are enough enemies to make use of her AoE spells). Some of Nalili's special attacks are extra-strong against enemies who are weak to sex magic, so she's more versatile than you might think.
Also, forgot to mention - "she´s not losing an attack by killing a enemy" - this is actually a thing that can happen with any skill that chooses multiple enemies (e.g. Varia's Furious Strikes), so it's just down to luck whether you see it happen or not. Basically, before the skill is used, the target for each strike is chosen, meaning that you lose any attacks which were targeted at an enemy who already died on an earlier attack.
DeleteThink of it as Nalili having lined up a nice combo of moves and thrusts, then being really disappointed when her last thrust doesn't hit anything because she accidentally already killed its target...
I have had Varia die a lot first round with even Histara in the party sometimes they just target her first and even with the strongest armor you can put on her she still gets torn to shreds so I just got tired of it. A good example is when you are forced to use her the first time you run into the magekillers don't know how many times I had to redo that fight just because she would get nuked by all of them before Histara could get her defensive buffs up. Not much you can do when she gets killed first round before you can do healing or buffs. Prefer Yarra over Nalili against enemies weak to lust as she can kill them much faster plus she has versatility with her skills that support the party while Nalili doesn't have any such versatility. Altina can actually stand almost equal to Robin as since she can equip sex items you can get her magic stat high enough where her tier one spells do similar damage as Robin's Lances which is why I have no problem cycling Altina in the party. My main problem with Nalili is unlike all the other characters she has no versatility she is all damage with 1 selfbuff skill she can't debuff or offer any support to the other party members while every other character can do at least one of those with some being able to do both. I could take her shield off and put one of the cuffs on her but that would make her squishy so its a trade off because at least with a good armor and shield she can take a few hits. Only reasons I would even cycle her in on occasion was orgy of blows and blade of lust now I don't have any reason to cycle her in as cycling someone in for just 1 move seems silly when I can put someone in who is better. Also no barrier pin for her so she can get hit by tons of status effects so she will now be joining Varia as one of the characters I never use unless forced because at least all the others I can make them useful without it being a headache or having to baby them, they both need reworked because fact is regardless of what I equip them with or what other party members I have with them I don't enjoy using them at all but I easily enjoy using all the other characters. Kind of sad because I enjoy the story content of both characters but not actually using them in a fight. Also trust me when I say I have used every possible equipment and party combination with both of them and I just don't enjoy using ether much they are sub-par when compared with all the other members.
Deletei dont use nalili a lot and specially wont now that her orgy of blows is nerfed but i use varia for a lot of my boss fights or high hp mobs. shes probably the best single target physical damage character there is. blade dance where each hit can be a crit will basically kill whoever it targets
DeleteI was about to come back and say that - Blade Dance is super-powerful, if you can get it to target the enemy you want.
DeleteI always get unlucky with Varia though and she ends up getting killed over and over, Ive even had her die with shield-wall up which is supposed to make the majority of attacks go for Histaria. But sometimes rng just goes nope don't care going to go for the person who is supposed to be least likely to be hit even though with your party combination and shield-wall the chances of Varia being attacked are like 7%. So as I said she just ends up giving me headaches so I never use her anymore just got tired of rng being absurd over and over. Better to use a team that relies more on smart usage then one that you have to pray to rng whenever you use it. So I will repeat what I said earlier both Varia and Nalili need reworked because right now they just aren't worth using.
DeleteNalili's working very well for me, at least. She has to spend her first turn Combat Masturbating to get enough whatchacallit, SP? But that gives her a small heal and a offense/defense boost so it's hardly wasted.
DeleteAnd then she can just Orgy of Blows every turn for the rest of forever; it's random, but it's also doing like twice or three times as much damage as Aka or Varia's basic attacks without any downsides like draining mana or health. Great for using all during the points from Boss A to Boss B.
Aka's normal attacks crit a lot which does far more damage then Nalili can even with the double boost plus she can debuff the hell out of the enemies also forceful lunge can crit which will 1 shot most standard enemies and only takes 10mp. Nalili has none of that she can't debuff enemies or buff allies while all the other characters can do at least one of those besides as I pointed out Varia is terrible as well and was already a character I never use now Nalili joins her in the group of never used since she is very sub-par when compared to every other character hell she was sub-par before but at least partially usable now there is no point as any other character will outdo her.
DeleteThey both need reworked as the only reason I even spend the tons of money to equip them right now is because I know there will be times when I am forced for story reasons to use them and I will have to have the best equipment I can buy on them in order to make it not such a nightmare if it wasn't for that they would both still only have their starting equipment. Against bosses it is better to use Qum if you want buffing because she can do the whole team which pays off far more then Orgy of Blows ever could.
So conclusion they both currently suck please for the love of every mythological being that has every been worshiped rework and buff both Varia and Nalili.
I've never had problems with Varia dying, so every time you say it's a problem I just can't help but think "Okay but what are they doing wrong?"
DeleteThe Mage Killers fight was easy BECAUSE of Varia, she nuked them right to death it was great.
Anyway, I'm sad that Nalili got nerfed. I wish the 4 hits had stayed because it let me use Orgy of Blows as like, an SP gaining tool to start using her other abilities. I guess this makes SP preserving items viable on her?
Magekillers fight would of been easier with a different character as the battle is pure luck as Varia can get killed first round because even with best armor and equipment. She has low survival rate as she can get nuked because of her low health almost as low as Robin and Altina combined with low defense stats even properly equipping her still results in her having lower DEF stat then most the other characters while having the lowest MDF of the entire party, also if you are willing to sacrifice a bit of magic attack power on the mages (I don't personally) they can beat Varia in the DEF stat as well proving the point of her not being a good choice.
DeleteNalili's problem is that she has a much lower attack stat then the other fighters sure she can self buff her attack to bring it up so she can do proper damage, but isn't it better to just use that slot for a character that can buff the whole team instead?
If you take Nalili's shield off for a SP preserving item it makes her kind of squishy she has decent health and a good defense but only if she keeps a shield on her as the items she can and can't use are kind of weird.
Wooo! Thanks fir the update. I can't Wait to get back to Yhillin, but this Zirantia update was really good and mended the void the previous caused by heart felt plot. However there is now a void of waiting for the next update where the last one stood. :P Thanks again.
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked it! Next update should have a lot of heartfelt stuff that's less tragic, so I hope you'll enjoy it!
DeleteHey, thanks for always providing these updates. I've been following this game since the beginning. Hopefully someday I can have a relevant income and will be able to support you in this endeavor. Until that time I hope you continue enjoying what you do. Hope you have a great time at the movies~ Stretch those legs, you've certainly more than earned it many times over. ^_^
ReplyDeleteI appreciate the fact that the game has held your attention so long; I hope to keep providing more content up to the end!
DeleteI'm Thee Pie Man from Legend of Krystal Forums. I've been silently enjoying every single update. The story is really lovely and I enjoy trying to do the "best" choices versus the "always good/always bad" narratives that most games run off of. I've slowly been optimizing my runs with every update so that I get exactly what I need and what I want by the end of it.
DeleteIt's truly something I can play over and over and enjoy the story of repeatedly without feeling too bored because there's always some little thing that I missed and get to enjoy.
(Such as for a most recent example. Having Uyae in the party and clicking on the statue before the final meeting gives you a small chat between Simon and her. Going over faith and what it really means to believe in something for better or worse. Those one offs just make the game feel alive and special to me and the quality has only grown over the time it's been developed.
Continue doing you Sierra!
I can't wait to see that ending~
Glad to hear from people who have been with the game so long! I certainly try to add interesting choices and details, so I'm glad they're appreciated!
DeleteThanks for sticking with me this long, I plan to keep it up until the very end!
I might be missing something, but using my saves from 0.23.2, I am still stuck in the green field which marked the end of previous version. How do I get to the new content from there? Loading my last save in the catacombs did not work.
ReplyDeleteHmm, I'm not sure what the issue could be. You should be transported onward automatically, and even if that transition was broken, you should be able to advance smoothly from a previous save. What occurs when you try to advance from a catacombs save?
DeleteI still end up in the green screen area. I'll try tomorrow to use some of the earlier save files.
DeleteOk, looks like it was me not doing something right. I re-downloaded the game and everything seems to work fine now. Sorry about the false alarm!
DeleteGlad to hear it's working fine for you - enjoy the update!
DeleteAwesome! Keep up the good work. Zirantia was alright, but I find the Ari-Yhilina sections more interesting.
ReplyDeleteThanks. The next Ari-Yhilia section will have a whole bunch of content, so I think you'll like it!
Deletei am stuck with the ruins key what do u do with it i cant anything to open it with
ReplyDeleteIf it's the key you get from the Sphinx, look for a section of wall that looks different from anything else.
DeleteIf it's the key you get in Biyue's ruin, try looking for a room with no obvious entrance, then think about where that entrance could possibly be...
biyue i am already pass that point and miss it. Is it something special?
DeleteIt's pretty nice, but the world won't end if you miss it.
DeleteIn this version the game crashes at the first monster pit fight during Simon's Path. Works in 0.23.2
ReplyDeleteDoes it do so every time?
DeleteNothing was changed in that section this update, nor should any of the other changes affect older battles. However, RPG Maker does have stability issues that will occasionally cause it to crash - simply reloading and trying again should work. If it crashes every time, please give more information about exactly how.
I guess it was some random chance. It crashed three times in a row earlier, but it was fine just now.
Deletewhat does uyae's aura of might and spirit do? does it add matk to her atk and vice versa or does it switch switch matk for atk and vice versa? like for example if i have 20 atk and 30 matk if i use aura of might do my attack become 30 or 50?. and if i use aura of spirit will my matk be 20? or 50?
ReplyDeletehttp://thelastsovereign.wikia.com/wiki/Uyae
DeleteNext time, check the wiki first for such answers...
First, I wanna say thank you Sierra for Uyae. I really like her personality/story (so far at least).
ReplyDeleteI also have a bug(?) to report. I mean it's an oddity at least. The Ancient Glove can be sold, but the selling price is 0. Yes, selling an item for 0 makes no sense, so just don't sell it, I get that. But seeing as every other item that can be sold has it's selling value higher than 0 (and other items simply can't be sold at all), I think it's not supposed to be sellable in the first place, right? I mean yea, it's a minor issue, but I hope the fix is very simple as well, yes?
Thanks, glad you like her!
DeleteAs for the bug, yup, it was simple. Usually when an item has a value of 0, it cannot be sold. I accidentally gave the Ancient Glove a value of 1, which rounds down to zero but still appears in the sale menu! Fixed, thanks!
I like yet dislike the fact that there are only so many battles you can get yourself into while managing stuff. It forces the player not to spend money all the time and wait for the really good items and equipment to buy, and yet it is still playable/beatable(?) without having to buy a single non-story related item. That in itself must be challenging to balance out.
ReplyDeleteBut as always, thank you for the update and continued work on the game!
You're welcome! I do my best when it comes to the balance overall - I'm sure things could be improved, but I try to keep it playable and fun for a variety of play styles!
DeleteI love that you used Simon's portrait when Qum uses her Simon voice!
ReplyDeleteA couple thoughts:
1) Is the Simon section supposed to start with the damage left over from (I assume) the original fight with Wynn?
2) It'd be nice if the spirits' advice was recorded in your quest log. I found the first two (gold statue and pillar room), but have completely forgotten what the third hint was by the time I got those two.
Been planning that gag for a long while. ^-^
Delete1) I tried to heal the party every time they logically would have rested in the interim. Which time specifically does the party start out damaged?
2) Hmm, I'll at least consider this, but overall I consider the quest log to be more about organizing main quests than logging optional hints.
The very start of the update this time, when Simon and co. enter the ruins. I had some minor damage left over on Nalili and Aka I think from some previous event.
DeleteIf it's minor, maybe they'd gained a level and they still had their old max-HP values?
DeleteHmm, I usually try to heal the party when you return to them, though. I will look into it.
DeleteYeah, my party was damaged too, so it's probably left over damage from the Wynn fight. It's a minor issue either way.
DeleteI forgot to mention I like some of the various references to modern things you make like 187 Sx on that one skeleton and Qum's timey wimey comment wonder how many other people have been able to catch various references maybe us fans should start making a list see if we can find them all.
ReplyDeleteWhat's the reference to 187? The california police code?
DeleteYea that is what its a reference to, 187 is the code for murder in the california police code it became part of normal culture because of a few songs and a movie as well. If you are wondering which skeleton it's on it's the skeleton with the money in Dari's cell when you free her so it is a fitting reference.
DeleteIt's too bad there isn't a police code for 'attempted to rape a girl and it turned out she was a monster and ate him.'
DeleteI haven't had a chance to grab the last three updates because of work so getting three updates' worth of content plus this one in one go is oh so satisfying.
ReplyDeleteI definitely loved the investment system back when the group was traveling but I love it even more now as Yhilin's conqueror since they seem to have so much more significant outcomes.
The same goes with Sarai. Best fucking high priestess ever. Enough said. XD I really do feel for her, having to maintain her chastity.
The story just keeps getting deeper and deeper with every update. It's like interactive fanfiction. Updates come by chapter and then it's another wait until the next one. Only better since it's interactive like a semi-CYOA story.
I'll eagerly be awaiting the next release and all the ones leading up to the end of this great game/story.
As always, thank you for a great game Sierra.
Hey Sierra, Just noticed something off when i went through another play through of TLS. The Young Woman who lives in the house at the dead end in the north western part of the slum past the Succubi lust drought shop in post war Yhilin. She appears to have a dialogue issue. Normally she says something about being scared about the succubi and cant leave her house for fear of being well you know ;). but instead you get the post Elven forests dialogue where she says something about not being afraid anymore. (which she also uses after the forest). hope that was specific enough and I'm not hallucinating.
ReplyDeleteI doubt you're hallucinating. ^-^ Her dialogue change is actually triggered not by returning from the forests, but by getting Yhilin's acceptance variable high enough. It sounds like your current playthrough has that stat higher than before.
DeleteThat makes sense. After every couple of updates I do another play-through to try and min max stuff. Now to wait for the next update to see what my prior stately Investments bring ^.^
DeleteSince technically this is about 0.24 as I don't have version 0.25 (it's not out for plebs yet), I decided to post here, even though I guess it hasn't been changed in the last version. So I found out that Uyae can use crusader equipment. That's cool and all (and makes sense from the game's narrative), but why can Carina (and apparently reshaped Varia - so says the wiki page, as I don't have her reshaped) use Crusader Plate and Uyae can NOT? I mean Crusader Plate is classified as a heavy armor, thus should be usable only by Hilstara, correct? I mean Crusader Plate kinda sucks anyway, but that's not the point. The point is, either only Hilstara should be able to equip it or if it's supposed to be "special", then Carina, reshaped Varia AND Uyae should be able to use it. Again, unless this was changed in the latest patch, this is still a thing.
ReplyDelete
