Version 0.16.0
 - New city, stage is set for the Ardford Summit.
 - Two new plot sex scenes.
 - Three conversations added to Janine's Retreat based on patron suggestions (no gameplay changes).
 - ProN now shows up in the menu (thanks Decanter!).
 - Simon's new armor has a darker color palette (thanks Scrambler!).

REMINDER: The vote on Patreon was to split Ardford into two updates, the same way Stineford was done. So this update you're getting the entire city and most of the investments, but there will be more sidequests and a ton of plot in the next one. Just bear this in mind, skip the update or bear it in mind based on your preferences.

**NoMoshing says he feels like the need for mirroring has lessened, so he won't be mirroring other games once he redesigns his site. Thanks to him for providing a mirror for so many months!

***In case you haven't heard, Kimochi is shutting down permanently. This is presumably why they didn't answer my emails about getting TLS updated on their client, so that's the situation.

  3. The notes of this version are identical to the 0.16.0 version, so I had taken the liberty to copy the things that you mention in the Patreon post (it was a bit weird to just copy them).

  4. Just tried to download from MEGA but keeps erroring out around 70% due to "Out of memory." I have space on my PC and in my Mega cloud box but neither links allow the completion of the download.

    1. I believe this has to do with the interaction between Mega and your RAM - you may or may not actually be out of memory at the moment, but Mega thinks you are. I'd try loading a minimal number of programs and downloading again.

    2. I suggest that you install Mega Sync from Mega. It works great for me.

  5. Enjoyable update so far, though I am once again crippled by indecision on what investments to make. 250k for crystals? 450k for some say in Church politics? 100k for merchant opportunities?

One tiny bug I noticed is that in the Holy area, one of the nuns paths over the sign for the Church bank.

Is the blond Blademaster supposed to hit on your entire party one at a time? He went through 3 or 4, then started repeating Megail's pickup line for me.

    1. Glad you're enjoying it!

Thanks for mentioning the tile error, got it fixed. As for that NPC, his event chooses a random number and then he hits on a person based on that. Sometimes the RNG can be wonky.

    2. Thinking about how every city has a bank to invest in (and Ardoheim has TWO), what happens when you have a controlling share in all the banks on the continent? Economic victory?

  6. When you take Simon's daughter's quest at the academy with the demon summoning(and probably any other time when your party is reduced, if you had KOd members of your party, it's an automatic game over when you switch to them because your party is not healed first.

    1. That's correct, this is a default setting of RPG Maker. Outside of randomly healing the party numerous times, I'm not sure what can - or should - be done about it.

  7. Hey, I lost my save games a couple of months ago and was looking to follow the storyline further, and was wondering - how do you use cheat engine (or any other cheat device) to max levels so fights are easy but I can still follow the storyline? I tried changing an address's value to max a level to 97 or 99 but it reverted back at the end of the fight...

    1. Hey there, sorry you haven't gotten another response. I don't have any particular advice for you about using cheat engines, but perhaps you'd have better luck looking for a save file that's close to where you were with the choices you want? There have been quite a few save files posted across the wiki and forums.

    2. The levels reset to previous level because level is dependent on XP.
The best way to do what you want is to see how much XP the char you want to cheat with, search for that like this:
"CurrentXP"*2+1", if more then one adress shows, repeat for the new value until you have only one adress, change it to something like "1000000001", after next fight (or anything that gives XP) that char will be level 99.

    3. Hey! Thanks for your help! It worked for 16.1 perfectly, but with the update it's a bit more finicky and sometimes crashes the game... I half-figured out that you need to be in the menu when you change the value and then immediately save the game (new slot, obviously) instead of going to the character menu or the main screen. Thanks muchly!

  8. What about an option to convert Sx to ProN? Same rates and conditions as the current ProN to Sx conversion.

    1. For balance purposes, this will not be a major feature until near the endgame. I don't want players to be forced to conserve all their money for the best results, so Sx is designed to be spent without guilt.

  10. Hmmm i belive i have found a bug... When im playing Yarra, after the Succubus Hunt and talking to the Elf Queen i cant move on. My only option is to go "sleep" and after that i can't skip the Incubus King event (Orgy), i tried to talk with everyone and interact with every possible item but... yeah i'm just stucked i cant sleep through it or something alike. (sorry for my english)

    1. Yarra won't skip any events until she learns what they are and says something about skipping it. Have you looked at the papers on your table announcing the orgy?

    2. Yeah I did it :/ but it didnt worked out heh, anyway i have resolved it, a little bit diffrent. After about 50th time I have changed the way i was starting the Succubus hunt event, 1.)first i have attacked all the butterflies. 2.) Then i have attacked other Succubi. 3.) After the hunt has begone -> attaked the last butterfly that was near the chest. 4.)The Main-hall has changed instead of one succubi in the left, there was their meeting. )

I will try to resolve it your way, I have still my save data from before the hunt. Thanx for help :)

  11. I've been playing through the game once again and so I've noticed that Varia's Furious Strikes attack, which is supposed to hit 3 times everytime (correct?), sometimes hits only twice. As far as I can tell, it happens when the first or second swing actually kills somebody. Now I know, no one really cares about that, because, exept for the part, where you have to have Varia in your main group (in Megail's path), no one bothers to put her in your main group on purpose. But still, it quite significantly lowers her DPS against larger groups. So my question is this: Is there really no way to fix this? Because the skill working like this (mostly hits 3 times, but "sometimes" only twice) is really wierd... I mean I get it, it's better this way than dealing just 2 hits all the time, but come on!

Also, I'm pretty sure buffs/debuffs stack 3 times. Maybe not all of them, I don't know, but you can clearly see it for example in last Orcent's winnable fight (after u defeat the mage orc), that even the 3rd debuff from Orcent lowers the opponents dmg. Now I don't really know much about RPG Maker games, but can it not show 3 stacks of buffs/debuffs in combat because 2 is the maximum or what? Or is 2 stacks the desired limit and sometimes working it more times is simply a bug? I didn't really test those, because the game never really tells you how much those buffs are in the first place or w/e, but I mean Sierra can clearly see those numbers herself, so she can test it, which buffs/debuffs stack how many times. Could be just my impression, not sure. But I'm pretty sure about the Orcent's defensive attack. Or is it really not possible to show 3 icons when there's 3 stacks of a buff/debuff?
    My 2 cents.

    1. Unfortunately, these are both things built into the RPG Maker engine. While I could theoretically go to a lot of work modifying them, it would not get very good returns for my time. If anyone knows of a compatible script that fixes these problems, however, I'm more than open to using it.

The first issue is that abilities that hit randomly choose all X targets when the attack is launched. If some of those are on the same target, they're wasted. But this is the way the engine itself is built, this isn't some trivial setting I just haven't modified.

Likewise, RPG Maker lets buffs stack three times but only has two different images. Why? No idea, there are some weird bugs/oversights in the engine. Since I'm using the buffs/debuffs built into the system, this can't really be changed. Even if I tried to do buffs via states, however, I have no good ideas how to make them stack properly (states by default cannot stack at all).

    2. :(
Thank you for your response anyway. And yea, I understand that if it's complicated to fix it, it's not really worth it. I just can't believe (actually I can, it just blows my mind) that there are 2 pictures and not 3 for the buffs. I mean really? They made the effort to show 1 stack, 2 stacks and ended there? Why go half way? That doesn't even make sense... I mean it's supposed to be a tool for others, why limit it like this... And it wouldn't even be that much of a work when they are already half way there, right. Maybe the solution would be to get hired by a big company and make the game from scratch! And hey, when you'd be at it, make a proper combat system! ...j/k, any big company would cut half the story and make you sell the other half in 10 DLCs, while the "true ending" would be cut out completely for 2nd maybe even 3rd expansion... Oh, and they would definitely NOT let you give away the game for free for plebs like me. :P Back to RPG Maker I guess... :)
BTW thank you for your work on the game, hopefully the actual ending will be a bit better than Mass Effect 3 (still salty about that one, yep).

    3. There are some strange bugs in RPG Maker. Some stats don't work the way they claim to without modification, for example, or the worst one is a setting in the battle event pages that is fatally bugged - using it in any way results in a game-killing error.

As for bigger plans... we can always dream. ^-^ I don't want to overreach, so I'm going to stick with RPG Maker for now, since I know it can deliver the game I want to make. But in the future I might take careful steps toward bigger games.

As for Mass Effect 3: you're not the first person to hope that. XD While I'm not doing a Bioware-style game here, I promise you that your choices will have more of an impact than different colored lasers.

    4. Funny thing is...the worst part of ME saga ending wasn't that literally all of them were the same (although that was unforgivable, yes)... The worst part was, that it made NO BLOODY SENSE. I mean if it was something somewhat reasonable, people would be still mad... Because why should nothing they did throughout the 3 games matter? ... But if it was something that at least made sense, although a bit shitty, that would be aceptable. But you are fighting for 3 games against a bad future...and at the end everyone just gives up and leaves? I mean if that's what they wanna do... they could have left after 1st game... You know, mission finished, I quit. In fact they certainly would do that and NOT join Sheppard at the start of the 2nd game, where Sheppard was DEAD FOR 2 YEARS. I mean he was fucking dead... and people still cared to fight once more... But now suddenly at the end of 3rd game they give up? I mean yea, it's not all that sudden I get it but still... Not to mention where exactly is that planet they left to? How were there no Reapers around? They were so advanced, they scouted throughout the whole known sector of the galaxy and beyond, yet they "forgot" about this planet? What?

I mean the comparison to ME is clearly there...long story with at least a few meaningful choices, where the main hero is trying to save the world/make it a better place. And again... No one expected the ending to be super complex and what not... but you know, when your companions simply abandon your cause after years of fighting for no obvious reason (all hope was certainly not lost yet) through events that made no sense (like the rift should cease to exist at the moment the warp gate exploded) to a place that shouldn't even exist (I mean, I guess what actually happened is, that it exploded, they died and were in heaven? :P)... When you put all of THAT into ending of a saga of 3 games that people loved, THAT is what the outrage was about. No one expects perfect ending, but screwing pretty much everything you could in the end is FAR from perfect.

Luckily, no publisher will force you to release the game before it's finished... So it will have a good ending. You've proven yourself enough by the story so far.
(even though it was really hard for me to swallow that I had no choice but to accept Megail into my party... I mean, really? after all the trouble and chaos she caused, she just says I'm sorry and we're good? maybe as a fuckslave...or maybe after she proved herself first or something...
and Simon's companions call Trin a bitch? why? what did she do? yea, she might be a psychopath, but hell... she is genuinely trying... no one calls autistic people idiots because they don't understand feelings... so why are none of them complaining about Megail being a cold-hearted bitch?) /rant :P

  12. They weren't abandoning Shepard.. They were trying to clean the blast from the crucible because it would destroy the Normandy. It would destroy all synthetics, including EDI who runs everything on board basically, and all reaper tech. The planet they either crash on or they out ran the blast and landed some where safe. Also rule the ending might have been bad it better than everyone gives it credit for, and while yes the comparison might be there I don't think Sierra is going to let us down with TLS. ME is hands down my favourite series, I have played through dozens of time and will again not mention I've read through the novel's a couple times, but TLS I think now holds a place as favourite stand alone game.. So thank you Sierra for making this master piece of writing and gaming.

  13. Sorry to be a bother but this is my first playthrough and after I return from the mines after reaching the barrier I'm basically stuck. Sleeping does nothing even though the wiki says it should, nor can I talk to yarra for her quest. Do I need to progress in the merchants storyline first?

  15. There seems to be a bug in the split party section; specifically the Aka-Robin-Altina party. Aka has a negative permanent status effect on her even in the overworld. It acts like Poison, but doesn't have the poison debuff symbol. Instead, it's some kind of dark claw/mini-galaxy. Not sure what status effect that normally means, but it's acting like Poison, and NOTHING will cure it. Well, except maybe fainting and reviving; but I haven't yet gone through a battle to test that.

    2. Correction: Faint and revive obly works until leaving the trial rooms. After that, the effect returns.

    3. This is intended: Aka is suffering from withdrawal and will do so during the entire route (though you can manage how much health she loses via Robin's spells). Being able to remove this effect by dying and reviving is the actual bug, one I haven't been able to quash.
