New update is public!

*I've been linking the RTP for years, but now that the files are both a similar size, dwarfing the RTP, I'm just going to put out one build to simplify my life a little.

Not much left to say about this one. We tried some things, some worked and some didn't, Eustrin is updated, etc. Most importantly, this one bundles all the reported issues since the 1.0.0 launch, so anyone playing in the interim will have a cleaner experience.

As stated before, the plan is for the next major build (1.2.x) to be a major chunk of art.

  1. Really small issue, but something that I noticed on my yearly replay. Some of the damaged/dirty tiles in the slums district of Stineford overlap Simon (specifically the darker/more orange ones). They are not fully opaque, so it isn't very noticeable. For an example of this, stand right below the tent guy in Chapter 1, and look at Simon's legs and arms. You can clearly see that they have been partially overlayed by the tile.

    1. Hmm... new Stineford is a bit unwieldy, so it's hard to pinpoint exact tiles on my end. I think this is actually the "grass" effect, which makes some tiles overlap with sprites a little. While it looks set that way intentionally, I don't think any harm would be done by turning it off.

  2. Thanks for all the work you put into this game, Sierra. We all appreciate you and what you've done with this massive project. I'd even go far as to say that it's criminal that the game is free, while other games charge beyond what most people have for little content while yours might take people a year or more to complete depending on their free time. I've started in 2022 (0.59.3) and just finished it in 2026 after I decided to wait for the full version of the game and boy did it pay off. Thank you once again for this experience that is like none other. This game is gonna be nostalgia overload when I do a second playthrough...

    1. Thanks, glad to hear you had so much fun with the game! I pledged that TLS would always remain free and I think it's good the game can reach as many people as possible, but you can always check out my other work if you want. ^-^

  3. Question, just saw that Grynith got a scene at 100.
How are we supposed to get it in game when her RP gains stop at 95 max ?

    1. Hmm, this may be a miscalculation, I'll have to look into it.

    2. After looking into it, the wiki appears to be wrong: Grynyth has up to 103 RP.

  4. I think Megail x Iris during the Erosian War is glitched. It ends with the last illustration, then I can't see Kyangan; just them holding each other.

    1. This was reported in an earlier build and I thought I had it fixed; indeed, when I go check the scene now, it looks like it should properly clear the screen. Are you still getting this issue on the newest version?

    2. Yes, but I was able to fix it by using the "Reflect" skill.

    3. Yes, such errors can be fixed with any scene/action that shows/removes images. It shouldn't be happening at all, though, so I'll try to look into why.

    4. Thank you very much; I will add that I got to that exact glitch in version 1.1.1, so it could possibly be just that version.

    5. Your work is fantastic, by the way. I always enjoy an eye for meticulous world building. I've actually been somewhat inspired by creators like you to consider my own projects one day.

    6. In that case, I believe the bug will be fixed in the next build, so no worries.

Anyway, thank you, I'm glad you've enjoyed my work! Best of luck with anything you choose to create. ^-^

  5. Hi, Sierra, love your game. It was a long but a good journey for me. Your game is a masterpiece, I haven't seen or enjoyed a game like this in a long time. It's even better than some of the AAA games. It would be better with voiced dialogs, I know it won't happen, because the game is free, but a man can dream right? So once again thank you for this game, it changed my view on indie games.

    1. Thanks for all the kind words, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Voice acting is certainly beyond my resources at the moment, but I'll keep making better works as I get more resources from Patreon and my paid games. Even if you're not in a position to contribute, reviews on Steam always help more people find TLS. ^-^
