Hello, everyone! In the latter half of this year I've struggled with some issues, personal and professional, so I'm sorry that I haven't made the TLS progress I wanted. Work does continue, however! I thought I would share one of the new features that has been in the works for some time.
The above is in in-world portrait: it will be painted by a character and be an object you can acquire in-game and hang in your base. Customization options will increase and you'll be able to hang all your favorite portraits around your headquarters.
Now, I can't share the majority of the paintings for reasons that should be obvious (do you think Yarra was wearing clothes while posing for her portrait? ridiculous!). However, I did want to share another of them, just to show that we've aimed for some real variety:
Oh this is AWESOME! I for one can not wait to be able to play around with hanging these :D Hopefully everybody will eventually have their own individual portrait in addition to any paired ones they might get.
ReplyDeleteIs it just characters who are in the harem/party that are eligible for portraits or are other character's possible as well?
Every standard bust image has a portrait version, but I don't know that we can get a unique solo portrait for everyone. That would add a ton of art to what is already a chapter-length project.
DeleteOn the same note, anyone is eligible for a portrait, but every character will have at least a standard option. Beyond that, it just depends on their impact in the story.
Some ideas besides what others have already said then...a paired portrait with Megail and Min...Yelarel...a paired portrait with Yarra and Fuani
DeleteI'd love a portrait with Fuani and the palace staff. Or portaits showcasing some of the minor npc/moments we had across the game, as a way of looking back on everything that hapenned.

ReplyDeleteI think an obvious one would be Sarai/Carine/Ivala.
Another could be the various leaders at a gathering of sorts, showing the progress made with bringing the world together.
I can imagine Vhala and Dari (especially a still unwoman Dari) posing for a portrait with obviously and very uncomfortable succubi.
Wendis could finally get that nude portrait she wanted long ago. Or even a nude 'family' portrait with Simon and Robin as well. XD
Appreciate your suggestions! Vhala and Dari don't have anything with succubi, but they do have a paired portrait together. And Wendis will definitely achieve her dream!
DeleteFor the Vhala/Dari suggestion I made, it was more that I was imagining them with the likes of Yarra, Qum, and/or Nalili. Like a sort of joke making the succubi, who get uncomfortable around the Unwomen, pose a long time for a portrait with them. XD

Depending on the situation with the Church, Yelarel could be in one with a church leader.
Hilstara and Galvia also comes to mind.
Neranda and her husband as a joke maybe? XD
Yarra with Wynn and Sarai? She does have a thing for halflings.
Wendis with several, or all, of the harem girls as the 'first wife'.
Lynine taunt Orilise with akanbe (japanese gesture, there is wiki page for it) while Orilise look at her down her nose, while Altina trying to pacify them from the background.
ReplyDeleteMaybe with follow up of some reversal where in the same picture Orilise tried get up similar to Lynine while Lynani appear with the book (and, maybe, looking bored) and Altina looking embarassed (or like she is giving up).
Tea party on the sunny summer day for Janine, Neranda and Fheliel. Or for Ivala, Mythin, Tertia and Zelica, but in a more "fantastical" environment (like on the cloud in the sky or on the flying island).
Wynn showing Wendis around her home (perhaps, in a room that demonstrate her "necromancer's phase").
Appreciate the suggestions! It isn't along those lines, but Lynine and Orilise do have a portrait together. Wynn and Wendis too.
DeleteThe succubi will definitely want a portrait of Simon with an absolutely enormous cock (comically large, not something that would normally fit) while they are to the side of it worshiping said cock.
ReplyDeleteAlong those same lines, the succubi would probably also want a portrait of Simon dressed up in the Incubus Armor set that we can find in each chapter. Or even dressed up as the Lustlord to try and sneakily put up in Lustlord churches. Like, after the portrait gets made and you go to...Helvanna I think...you would see a copy of the portrait in the Lustlord temple. Simon would naturally notice and may make a comment about it.

DeleteIt's not exactly that, but I can tell you that there's a finished portrait that the succubi have strongly influenced. I doubt anyone will hang it in their base, but hopefully the scene will be funny. XD

DeleteHmm, I like the idea of a painting dedicated "to the fallen", but aside from Alonon and Geoff I can't think of any other named characters that unavoidably fit the bill and are deserving of the homage. Those two alone already kind of form a nice cohesive theme as knightly men of Ardoheim so maybe it could still work with just them.

DeleteSo we have a sage (Alonon), a knight (Geoff), a rogue (Mestan), and a magic little girl? That's basically a classic RPG party, could be an interesting way to fit all those characters together in a single picture, could even reference some of the promotional art for RPG maker by framing them into similar poses.

- I'm surprised no one have proposed to paint Ralke as a Hero with his Sword of Light fighting his last battle with the Human (Demon) King (make him as a dark ominous (and edgy) shadow smoke like figure since we still don't know WHO it is XD)

- Vunne and Xestris facing the void left in their lives after their respectives masters betrayal. (By the way, hurry up with the rescue of the Lustlord ex-castle. So depressing)
- Kalant and Tyna flirting/marrying/raising their kids with joy, love and peace. (To obtain that, you need to have small children, when they grow up they become ungrateful and irritating XD)

- Ginasta meditating on her role, and being gently heckled by the harem ^^
- A close up on someone fluffing the wooly monster sheep/dog. So cute ^^
By the way, it would be nice to have Esmera meet MDB since she's losing faith. But it probably won't happen with all the political mess it would create. A shame. Maybe Carina could help her since she went though it.

DeleteMaybe there could be the portait between simon and his wife that we saw in chapter 1 at the very start (maybe it can be reaquired somehow), and maybe also a group portait with all his comrades (this one could also be some kind of trophy at the end of the game if you managed to get everyone at 100 relationship)
